Has performed flawlessly for 2.5 years, and the cost was very reasonable.

My A11 samsung was deemed non usable in the 5 G system. The replacement A 42 unit was a great replacement. The cost was in my budget, but the transfer from AT&T service to Verison service was not good. Local agent really did not have good access to the plans offered and the signe up FEE of $45 was never mentioned.

I got to Best Buy looking for a phone for a family member, and this is what I picked: Samsung - Galaxy A42 5G 128GB (Unlocked) - Black with dual sim capability. Interestingly, I picked it up from the "open box" section, but still looked great and intact. I will recommend this to any family member or friend.

Battery life=Great! Even after several months it still holds a charge for several days. Probably the best thing about this phone. Performance=Poor. Camera=Simlar to a $100 phone. It works decently out of the box, but after a few months, it has degraded to where it's almost unusable at times. It constantly dials numbers in your pocket even if you change the settings to help that it doesn't help at all, and apparently, this is a well-known issue. The thumbprint reader takes several attempts or doesn't read at all. Pulling up apps can takes minutes to do or have to reboot the phone entirely. This is all just shortly a few months after being purchased. I would not recommend this phone for this price range.

With 5G happening, my Samsung S7 was not working well & the battery life was terrible. This new phone works great! Has a great camera & a tremendous battery life. I have been able to go up to 3 days on occasion before having to charge it! It is a great phone

I bought this phone for 2 reasons, 1st I wanted the dual sims as I was going on an extended trip to Portugal and I wanted to keep my US number, and 2, as long as I was upgrading I figured I might as well go 5g. The 5g works ok, I guess. The dual sim doesn't. But somehow, I missed that little bit of info in my research. I told the people at BB exactly what I wanted it for and I don't think they knew either (to reiterate, I don't blame the people who sold it to me). I'm just baffled as why Samsung would make it dual sim and not be able to function in that capacity. Other aspects of the phone are fine.

Purchased for our business cell phone as the price was much better than an IPhone 11,12 and certainly a 13. I have the 11, but am blown away by this rarely purchased phone. It offers excellent graphics and it very easy to use. Wish I had it instead of my 11!

I thought the phone was going to be sub-par because it is the A version. But it's great, the quality of the mic, pictures and videos are great. I would buy another A version when needed.

Only Samsung my local Best Buyhad in stock. Workers had thought they had others but multiple were not avilable and i needed to walk out of there with phone. Familiar with from past product use but still expensive in my opinion.
