Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the Galaxy A51's excellent camera quality, large screen size, and long battery life as significant strengths. Many also appreciate its affordable price and user-friendly interface. While some users wish for wireless charging and water resistance, the positive feedback on other features outweighs these drawbacks. The phone's performance and ample storage are also frequently praised.

I've had the A51 since 2/21. Still getting use to it and deleting Apps I don't need. No issues and I like it. 1. I take a lot of photos and that is the main reason I upgraded. 2. Still getting use to the camera. 3. I wasn't looking for a phone with all the bells and whistles the latest phone offer. 4. I was looking to spend between $200-$400. I got the phone for $250. Great value . If your looking for a good phone and don't need all the goodies the new phones offer. This is a good choice,

My wife updated from a two year old Motorola device. The Galaxy A51 is light years better. Large, clear screen, fast response and user friendly. Transferring content was easy using Samsung Smart Switch. Storage space is ample at 128 GB. Media card is available to increase storage. So far, the battery charges quickly and holds the charge for quite a while (depending on usage, of course). Includes a headphone jack. Downsides: no wireless charging and not waterproof. All-in-all, a very nice phone.

Got this as an upgrade for my wife. So far has good battery life, a very nice screen, and decent performance for the price. The one disappointment is Best Buy incorrectly lists this as having wireless charging, there is no wireless charging on the model we received. Overall my wife is very happy with it, we just wish it had wireless charging.

I picked this phone up for a family member. I didn't know much about it but it had a big and that was number 1 on her list. Needless to say I was taken back by how amazing the speakers sounded. The screen, for a 350.00 phone looks remarkable. The camera, great. Battery life great. Headphone jack, well, I'm a little jealous. Especially since my phone was twice the price. Just to humor myself I put my s20 side by side with the a51....not 5g and honestly, if it was 6 inches, would have went for it hands down. I NOW have a pretty good idea how much (bells and whistles cost)....still love my s20 though.

    Better phone than expected!

Honestly way better phone than what I first expected it to be. I bought this phone for my fiancée and of course during the set of the phone for him I had to at least play around with it a little bit. I had heard that the Samsung Galaxy a series had recently gotten better in quality, but I didn't expect them to be this good. The phone is great it is handling the cod very well with the battery actually staying charged and it has a great camera on it. I liked this phone so much that I went out and purchased the Galaxy A71 and I had the same results. The phone including this one is better than the phone I had before a Galaxy s9. The only thing that I don't like is that there is no mireless charging. It did take me a minute to figure out how to restart the phone.

The cameras are pretty cool. I really like the wide angle lens, however, the micro lens isn't great. It's difficult to take photos that are in focus, and the quality of the photos seems low. The battery is amazing, although, I wish wireless charging were possible. The screen is plenty big, but the resolution with some logos and websites appears to be low. The biggest con of this phone for me has been the random restarting. I don't know if this can be corrected with a software update, but I'm hoping this to be true. Overall it's a pretty good phone, and is worth the discounted price. I've been considering the switch to Apple, and if the restarting issue doesn't get corrected, I just may make the change.

Let me be perfectly honestly: I am an iPhone user... but I have several folks on my cell phone plan who swear by Android devices. Let me say... on the record... this is a very very sleek phone. Out of the box, its quality rivals that of the more expensive Samsungs - it's sleek, thin, and feels good in your hand. It's fast, has a very good battery life, and includes all of today's requirements: wireless charging, USB-C connector, full screen that has amazing colors. I am still an iPhone person... but if you're an Android person, I HIGHLY recommend this phone for you. PS - Best Buy often runs $100 off sales if you activate the phone through them. Even if you get charged $40 from your carrier to activate, you still save $60 ($100 credit - $40 activation = $60 credit). We did that with three of these phones on our plan!

Having been an android/galaxy user for 3+ years, this is now the second phone I'm on and I can already say I'm satisfied. The screen is a bit bigger than I'm used to, but I have big hands so it's not a problem. The sound and performance are noticeably improved from my former Galaxy phone. Glad I made this purchase overall.

    Decently fast and smooth but...

My previous phone was a 5yr old BlackBerry Priv [Android], which I loved; this review is based off that:: Plenty of storage, decent amt of RAM; so the phone is decently fast & smooth but has limitations & lacks features on my 5yr old BB:: I had to create a Favorites screen because the A51 version is NOT quickly accessible & alphabetical order ONLY. The A51 lacks a Notification alert light for missed calls, texts, & emails. It also lacks a Mute button on the Volume toggle. The User Dictionary is not accessible for immediate additions. Keyboard customization is extremely limited. The BB camera was far easier to use. "Bixby" [Samsung's Siri?] features take up a lot of space & cannot be deleted. Unlike the BB Priv Snapdragon 808 that often ran warm & sometimes hot, this phone has barely felt mildly warm only once or twice and then cooled VERY quickly. That is a very welcome change. This is a nice phone for users liking Samsung, LG, Moto, etc. Android devices. I much prefer the BB version of Android. I will keep this phone for some time but look forward to another BlackBerry or maybe OnePlus. Thank You!

Pros: 1. Runs smooth for what I use it for ( YouTube, looking at video doorbells, looking at camera security system while offsite). 2. Large screen. 3. Decent battery Con: Very slippery. I would definitely get a screen protector and case. With in. 5 days off using it, it slipped out of side pocket while getting in car and fell on parking lock. Cracked the screen. Sad thing was I ordered case and screen before I cracked it. Just waiting for arrival. Lol

This phone is a great value for your average user. If you can catch it for around $300, definitely pick it up. You get a decent camera, great battery life, and the latest Galaxy features without the price of an S20 or even S10. This phone is not the fastest or for people who want to keep many apps open, but for the average person, this is just right. The worst part about this particular unit is Verizon slows the update frequency and pre-installs a bunch of junk. Buy unlocked if you can.

This is a very good cell phone. Samsung doesn't really advertise it. It has good memory and speed. The camera is very good too. And it is not as expensive as the ones that are always advertised by Samsung. If you want a good solid phone and want to save some money then this phone is one to consider.

I love this phone and the screen is beautiful, bright and now, I can view YouTube without any visual problems. The speaker could be a little better but, I guess you can hook up an small external speaker and then it will be more than sufficient in sound. So, personally this phone is all I will ever need and it has everything on it that I need too and then some. I would recommend looking at this A51 the screen is larger than the new Apple 12 if, I'm not mistaking. The price is awesome too and it's a Samsung which makes a lot of products so, they have to be doing something right IMO! I'm real pleased with Best Buy, the phone and added on accessories. I would look at this phone if, you are on a budget or, you just need it to do what it's suppose to do and not die on you. I only charged the phone three times in 2 weeks and it charges fast. Now, if you are always on the phone I would plug it in the wall to be safe.

I needed an upgrade from my old Galaxy and decided to look for a new Samsung phone that was within my budget. As a user who uses my phone mostly to access documents and files with ease along with taking a couple of nice photos and videos here and there, the power and camera quality of the phone is more than I what I was expecting. It was strange at first to see the volume buttons are on the same side as the power button, but I've gotten use it now and I don't think it's made anything drastically different as to how I use or hold the phone. The battery life lasts for more than a day, and the photos turn out great for me. The phone does lag a bit if I have too many things running or if I've been playing a game for too long, but it's something I rarely do, so the lag doesn't happen very often. Overall, this was a great phone to buy without having to pay an expensive price that does the job well.

    A good 'starter' Samsung phone

Good for a 'starter' phone. Bought for someone who had a flip phone prior. One disappointment is that this phone didn't offer wireless charging. Sales guy didn't mention. Would be nice if they had sheets that showed what it had and what it was missing. 2020 and unable to charge wirelessly? Big negative for us. Samsung guy in the store was disappointing. The vibration option does not vibrate strong enough. I looked at settings and there wasn't the intensity available that comes with other Samsung smart phones. She relies on that option heavily (had with other phone) and has missed calls/texts even at highest intensity. Takes good photos. I'd recommend a thorough review of options before buying this phone so you know if it has all you want/need. Price is fine though, you get what you pay for.

Coming from a Samsung S7, this phone seems a lot larger, but it's only because of the size of the bezel-less screen which is growing on me. Who really needs to pay the price of a flagship phone when you effectively get an equivalent for a fraction of the price? If you're looking for all the bells and whistles like wireless charging or facial recognition then this isn't for you, but a great screen with a fingerprint reader behind the glass, a headphone jack, usb-c and plenty of storage are all welcomed sights for me.

This phone was more disappointing and frustrating than it was great. The screen size is quite nice as it uses the entire surface from end to end. Images are sharp. The battery life seems lengthy (although that seems true with all new phones in my experience) and charges quickly. I "upgraded " from Samsung's G4 but it seems to be lacking some basics. There is no way for me to see if I have any notifications unless I swipe and unlock the phone. I liked having the subtle dot on my old phone. Also,, I've noticed the screen jumps and/or flashes from time to time. A more serious con is that the Bluetooth gets dropped in the car every time I turn the engine off, then I have to manually connect again. If I'm in & out of the car running errands it renders Bluetooth pretty much useless. Overall I'm not impressed and wish I had chosen something else in my price range.
