Great, mid-range 5G phone for Verizon only
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a Samsung Galaxy phone user for many years. I recently upgraded my Note 8 for the A71 5G UW after researching my options. This phone was a great choice (with the two exceptions noted below) for the price. It has a Snapdragon 765G and 8 Gigs of Ram, more than enough power and room to do the daily tasks I ask of a phone. While I thought I would miss the S-pen with the Note 8, I have found that not to be the case. The size is just right for me compared to the Note 8, and the screen seems brighter and clearer than the Note 8 was. The battery is awesome in this phone. With my normal usage, I could probably get two days before needing to charge. Speaking of charging, the super-fast charger can take my phone from 15% to full in about 68 minutes! That's fast. Now to the exceptions: First, this phone does not have wireless charging, and I miss that. I tried a plug-in adapter for the USB-C port that enables the phone to charge wirelessly, but it is hard to get the phone to lie on the charger correctly to enable the phone to actually charge. It's too easy to move the phone enough to make it stop charging. Also, this method is much slower than the charger that came with the phone. Second, this phone has an FM radio built-in, but nothing I have tried to use this feature works. I'm told by Samsung that it is in the phone and also by Verizon, but I'm also told that it must be disabled by Verizon with their software. I can't get any app to actually work with the FM radio (NextRadio being what I used on my old phone). It must be something with the software Verizon uses with the 5G UW variant of the phone. I miss being able to listen to radio when I'm outside - without using data. Overall, I am pleased with the A71 5G UW. It seems to be a well-built phone that is hard to beat when it comes to price.

Really nice and quite powerful phone
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this phone for my 16 year old son. Was pleasantly surprised at how fast the phone was and it's also 5G capable. Good RAM and good internal storage, even offers expandable storage to 1 gig. Camera works really well and awesome battery life. Thinking about upgrading my other kids to this phone as well.

A71 appears to be a good, solid product
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.About a month into ownership, the phone appears to be another solid Samsung product. After familiarizing myself with the newer operating system and figuring out how I wanted to use it, I turned off or controlled data usage for a lot of "unnecessary" background processes and have been easily going 4 to 5 days between battery recharges. (I'll see how battery life holds up over time with software updates) Pro's: *The camera is great compared to my old phone. (love the integrated "Scan" feature for documents.) *Hands-free voice/audio quality seems very good. *No problems pairing to my cars . . . so far. *Great screen . . . resolution, brightness, outside visibility are all good. * Great overall speed . . . good multi-core processor for how I use a smartphone. (Note : I don't spend hours playing games ... no time for that ... 2 college tuitions to help pay) Cons: *There are still limited case choices for the 5G Verizon version. (It has a slightly modified case to accomodate the internal tech) *I never had a larger phone like this and suspect it might get a little awkward to carry during the summer with lighter clothing. *This may sound picky, but the "Snooze" button is small on the alarm clock and I haven't bothered to look for an alternate app yet. This is an OS / Application short-coming and shouldn't be considered an A71 issue. Notes: Even though I bought this phone b/c I wanted the 5G capability, I found that I don't have that service at my house and I haven't had a change to test it. I've probably used it during my commute for voice calls, but have never verified / confirmed that. Summary : Very happy!! . . . great product so far. I seemed to get about 98% of the performance and features of a S20/21 for about 40%+/- of the cost.

terific phone
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive ad this phone for almost a month and have to try and find something wrong with it since its a cheaper Samsung. The only thing with this phone and the Samsung S20 is the water resistant factor and the fact that its a plastic back opposed to the other metal back tha can be wirelssly charged is all. I dont need those things to function & have insurance. Overall this phone is extremely fast and has so many features that I cant possibly learn them all for a while. Great phone, perfect size, lots of customization and a beautiful camera that takes perfect photos evertime including a way to enhance

More than satisfied with what I got for the price
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace a failing S6 (32GB memory, non-expandable). Great phone if you don't need lots of bells and whistles, although this has a bunch. This has 128GB memory (expandable to 1TB). It is 5G ready, has great cameras, feels good in my hand, has a great screen. It is a special version made for Verizon (don't know why) but had no problem finding a case on e-bay or amazon. The battery lasts much longer than my S6 and only one of my apps didn't transfer over from old to new. The cost was less than half of an S series.

Great camera for those needing great smartphone
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just about everything you would want! Fast, Easy to use, lots of storage. Giant screen if you like that. I do! 5G UW if you can use it. Doesn't have S-Health. Lots of new features you might need to get used to but, but they are nice. Difficult finding a case but I have a Presidio Exocase case that works perfectly. Worked out a great deal for purchase.

Samsung quality, excellent battery life & screen!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've done our last few upgrades through BestBuy and have loved the service! This phone is exceptional. Long battery life, bright screen, quick response, I am very pleased with the performance. Coming from a Galaxy S7, the buttons take a little getting used to, being on the same side of the phone. While it works, I do not like unlocking with a thumbprint and the facial recognition just doesn't work in 2020 (mask). At the end of my work day I still have 60%+ battery life which is amazing. No 5G coverage in our area yet so I can't speak to how that is. Because this is a Verizon edition of the phone, one issue I had was getting a case that fit. They slightly adjusted the placement of the buttons on their version which is pretty annoying!

Excellent Phone. Bigger than the price!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I researched the Samsung A71 5G for quite some time before buying it. I couldn't believe that Samsung would put so many features, such a large (6.7 inch) screen, and so much ram in a phone with that low of a price. Then Best Buy offered it for even less and gave me a great trade in on my 3 year old Galaxy S8. I couldn't pass up the offer. It has proven to be the best phone and the best money I have ever spent on a cell phone. I recommend the Galaxy A71 to anyone looking for a flagship quality phone at a very reasonable price.

Best phone in this price range!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had an A50 previously and really liked it, but was running out of storage... this phone definitely solved my storage issue! It's also much faster than my last phone with as much ram as my gaming console. Practically double the speed as my last phone. I can run apps, games, and surf the web seamlessly. Probably my favorite feature is the 64 megapixel quad camera system. It takes absolutely stunning pictures and videos. Overall I'm very satisfied with my new Galaxy A71. I don't think any other phones in this price range really match what it brings to the table.

You need this phone!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is amazing it has face id, touch screen and pass code. It has plenty of memory, huge screen and battery life lasts for days. It's a 5G phone so hopefully when 5g comes to my area I'll update the review. I switch from iphone to this phone, it is super fast with 4gb RAM

Seems to have everything I need in a smartphone.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I'm very happy with this phone. I'm glad I found a phone that meets my needs at a price much less than most of the new phones available today. I'm still getting used to some of the features and apps, but generally it's a big improvement over my old LG G2 which served me well for many years. It was definitely time for an upgrade. My only disappointment is the lack of cases currently available. It's been hard to find a case that's compatible with the Verizon version of this phone. Hopefully that will change soon. I was very pleased with the help I received from Jamel in the phone service dept. in the Plymouth Meeting, PA store. He worked with me to activate the new phone and transfer the apps and data from my old phone. It took several calls to Verizon support and probably required more of his time than he expected. He was very patient and courteous and made sure I was completely satisfied with the results before I left the store.

This does everything I expect from a phone.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 6 years with my Samsung Galaxy S7 I felt it was time to upgrade. The flagships were out because anything approaching a grand is computer money. I saw some reviews on the A71 and pulled the plug. I’m very happy with my choice. In all respects it fulfills my expectations. Great cameras, nice video (1080p - since I don’t have a 4K TV I’m not missing anything), and decent speed. It connects with my car using Android Auto and hasn’t dropped out so far. It only has one speaker but the volume is generous and the sound is clear. It does take a fraction of a second longer to recognize my fingerprint but that’s hardly a sacrifice. At half the price of the flagships I know I got a great deal, and kept my old plan intact.

Great phone overall
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this phone about a month and really like it. The response time is good, cameras work great and set up was easy. I like the larger screen for easier reading. The one thing I don't like about the larger size is that the phone is heavier in your hand and I have arthritis in my hands so I really notice it. Overall it is a good for me. Good 5 G phone not at top of the line prices. Affordable and dependable. Samsung is the only brand of phone I buy.

Flagship Phone For A Practical Budget
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a FANTASTIC phone! The battery life is well above average, screen resolution, color intensity and saturation as well as the durability of the glass itself are nothing less than flagship quality, and it is blazing fast with no hiccups or lags. Sound quality is fair and could be improved, but the fingerprint sensor is so fast and accurate, it boasts NFC, UW and 5G, and even though it has a lower price than a Note 20 Plus or S20, you will not notice a shortage of equivalent features. Well Done.

Mid-priced smartphone with a good camera
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this phone for my spouse as well. Finally, a Android phone priced at about $500 that has an excellent camera combined with solid smartphone features. While not the top of the line processor, it has plenty of speed for the average user including TV and video over Wi-Fi. There are no competitors at this price point.

Upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had the phone for about 1-1/2 weeks and am very pleased with it. My previous phone was having problems with battery degradation and some of the software no longer functioned properly or consistently. This phone processes tasks quickly and with few issues. My only complaint is that Verizon just HAD to make their version of this phone slightly different than the other A71 versions. As a result, regular A71 cases do not work for this phone. There are next to no cases currently available for this version because of the differences. Pleased overall so far. We'll see if it lasts...

Nice phone
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great phone. Feels sturdy and has plenty of memory. Opted for this model over the S20 becuase the A71 keeps a headphone jack and has expandable memory via a micro SD card, both of which were lacking on the S20. Ran into a little glitch when activating because Best Buy provided a SIM card and gave that number to Verizon. The phone came with a pre-installed SIM card so there was a conflict with which numbers to use. The phone is very slippery and cases are nearly impossible to find. The Verizon version of this phone is slightly different from the other 5G versions and case manufacturers have not caught up. The VERY FEW cases on the Verizon site are sold out. So, I'm still shopping and waiting.

Nice stable device
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded because needed more space. I do software development and it's nice to be able test apps without shuffling stuff around. 128GB is plenty so far - only about ½ full. Photos\Videos go on an added micro SD. Added a cheap case to improve grip on the phone. Dropped a few times with no issues, Fairly large but still fits in my front pants pocket. Battery last me about 2 days - sometimes can get 3 out of it. Recently had to install AWP (work profile) - still getting used to that, but so far it went smooth.
