As a longtime HP/Macbook user, I took a chance on this laptop on an open box deal (satisfactory condition) for $270. Absolute steal. Details of my experience below. I needed a laptop to work from home, do schoolwork, and light gaming/streaming/media. My budget was low and I was mainly looking @ Chromebooks, yet I was not impressed with the selection in the $200-300 range. They won't perform as well as this laptop. This is a huge step up from a Chromebook. When I found an open box deal on this, I jumped right on it. I couldn't resist as the processor by itself costs ~$250, and you're getting a fully built laptop here for the same price. The laptop was in pristine condition, came with the original box, and new charger. The i5 processor is amazing at multitasking. I've been able to keep dozens of tabs open, play music, use Excel/Powerpoint with absolutely no lag in performance. The keyboard has a tactile feel to it, so the typing experience is pleasant. Expert reviews will complain about the trackpad, however the trackpad has a smooth feel and performs without any issue. Build quality feels sturdy, and is not too heavy. RAM can be upgraded to a dual channel 16GB if you're looking for heavier to use this for heavier workloads. I love the versatility of USB, microSD ports. The touchscreen feels nice and responds perfectly. Amazing experience. My gripes with this laptop are two things. Firstly, the laptop speakers are placed on the bottom surface of this laptop, which makes for poor sound quality/output because instead of the sound being directed right at you, the sound is directed towards the surface that your laptop is sitting on. That is a design flaw, but easy to remedy. Plug in headphones into the headphone jack, or use bluetooth speakers/earbuds. My second issue is the display. It is a full HD display, brightness is great, but color quality is disappointing for a laptop of it's class. It's not horrible, it could have just been better. Samsung cut corners in this sense to keep this laptop affordable, and entice buyers to look at their PRO model which has a nicer screen. For indoor use the display is fine, it is NOT an eyesore. I was able to improve the display by adjusting the RGB display settings, and it's much better. I also like to use a $20 USB-HDMI adapter to connect with my TV screen. These two flaws are easy to work around, so it was not a dealbreaker for me. All in all? Great Laptop. Fast speed for normal working from home/school use. Good battery life. Speaker design and display should have been designed better, but it would have led to a higher cost. There are cost effective ways to bypass these design flaws so no biggie. Excellent deal if you can scoop it up as an open-box deal. You'd basically have yourself the Samsung version of a basic Macbook without all the extra fancy stuff they have today for more PRO models. If you don't get an open box deal, it's not bad for it's performance at it's clearance price of $600, but it wouldn't be my go to option at that price point.

Sound is marginal at best. Keys feel is soft. It seems to perform well using typical word, excel, videos, web browsing. Performed acceptably with electronic modeling ltspice. If sound was better i would have rated it higher.

Nice thin laptop with great screen display. Not thrilled with the sensitivity of mouse pad. I only store software on the hard drive & use external storage for data files. Only has 2USB ports…would have been nice to have at least 3.

This computer has treated me well since I've had it for the past month or so. It runs web browsers seamlessly, and even runs Minecraft and other simple games with ease. Definitely worth the mid-range price tag as compared to flagship Samsung laptops!

My old computer decided it didn't want to work anymore so I looked around and I found this one and it works perfect for me. Of course I have to figure out how to use this one compared to my other one but I'm sure I'll Master it. I think it's a great computer for a fabulous price.

The Team has been unable to get My Passport portable backup drive to work consistently on this new computer. I have not gone back to the store for the last 60 days but will soon. I purchased this drive from Best Buy for my old computer that was replaced with this new one
