Powerful 2-in-1 With Great Battery Life & Features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.----- Summary ----- Verdict: If you are looking for a portable 2-in-1 laptop with all-day battery life and great performance, the Galaxy Book Pro 360 might be for you. There is a lot to like about it, such as the thin and lightweight design, beautiful screen, long-lasting battery, great keyboard, and included S Pen. Due to the poor webcam quality and lack of built-in stylus storage, it is just shy of a five-star laptop. Despite that, I am very pleased. Especially for Galaxy device owners, the Galaxy Book Pro 360 is definitely one to consider. Pros: - Thin and lightweight, especially for a 15-inch laptop - Beautiful AMOLED screen - Premium build quality - Long battery life - Comfortable typing experience - Seamless experience for Galaxy device owners - S Pen included in the box Cons: - Webcam quality is subpar - No built-in stylus storage ----- Details ----- Design: Laptops have been getting thinner over time, but what Samsung has accomplished with the Galaxy Book Pro 360 seems impossible. How is such a powerful laptop with a very long-lasting battery this thin? It is astounding to me, and so is the weight. Especially for a 15-inch laptop, the super sleek design is a game-changer for me, since I am often transporting my laptop on the go. With the Galaxy Book Pro 360, I can have a large screen without sacrificing portability. Even with such a thin and lightweight design, all the components feel solid and of high quality. To test the 360-degree hinge, I have been frequently trying different modes (laptop, tent, and tablet) and have noticed that the hinge is very sturdy. As for the ports, there is a decent selection that includes three USB-C (one supports Thunderbolt 4), a headphone jack, and a MicroSD card slot. If you use any USB-A accessories, you will need an adapter to use them with this laptop. Typing on the keyboard feels very comfortable. I like that the right side of the keyboard has a number pad which can also be used as an extra arrow d-pad that includes Page Up and Page Down, as well as Home and End keys. These are enabled when Num Lock is off. Rounding out my comments on the design, the trackpad is huge. I really appreciate that there is plenty of room for scrolling or using pinch zoom. Screen: The AMOLED screen is stunning. Whether I am inside or outside (even in direct sunlight), it is bright enough for me to see what is on the screen, and the colors are vivid. There are several color profiles available in the settings that allow you to customize the screen mode to your liking, or you can just go with “Auto mode” which will switch color profiles automatically based on what you are doing. Although not visible to the naked eye, Samsung says the screen reduces blue light which can lessen eye strain. I have had several long working sessions on this laptop and have not noticed any eye strain, so I think there might be some truth behind it. This is the first 15-inch laptop I have owned in a while, and I quickly realized that the extra screen space is nice to have, especially since I often find myself with multiple windows open at once. Performance: I purposefully ran numerous apps and videos at once to gauge the Galaxy Book Pro 360’s performance, and it handled everything with ease. Nothing crashed or had any lag. I would likely never be running that much at once, but it is nice to know this laptop can handle just about anything you throw at it. Battery Life: One thing I look for in a laptop is a battery that can last through a normal workday (8+ hours of continuous use), and the Galaxy Book Pro 360 easily hits that mark and then some. I would say that I average about 10 hours of battery life when running multiple apps and using numerous tabs in my browser. If I just use it for casual browsing or entertainment, I can get even more. Features: An S Pen is included in the box, and I have been using it often to write notes. I am happy to say the writing experience is great, and of the little doodling I did, the drawing experience seems great too. Since taking notes digitally is part of my weekly routine, I am glad the S Pen makes it easy to write legibly with little error. My only wish is that there was a slot to house it on the laptop, but at least it can attach magnetically. Since I usually participate in multiple video calls throughout the week, having a webcam on my laptop is a must. Unfortunately, the webcam quality on the Galaxy Book Pro 360 is subpar at best. I was hopeful that the various filters might help, but they do not. It always seems to look a little blurry and grainy, and those on the other end of the video calls agree, which is not acceptable for a premium laptop. The poor webcam quality came as a surprise to me because everything else about this laptop has been impressive. Moving on to some of the other features that I do like, there is a fingerprint sensor in the power button that works with Windows Hello. It has proven to be a reliable, quick, and secure way to unlock the Galaxy Book Pro 360. There are also several Samsung apps pre-installed that enable a seamless experience if you own other Galaxy devices. For example, Quick Share allows you to instantly share files, and Samsung Notes syncs across all Galaxy devices. As a Galaxy Note phone owner, I appreciate having apps like these that make multitasking or transitioning from my phone to the computer (or vice versa) very easy.

Sleek and Dazzling!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Samsung’s Galaxy Pro 360 delivers productivity when needed and converts to an even more impressive entertainment companion thanks to a perfect blend of software and hardware. If the past year has taught us anything, it is more important than ever to find that balance between work and play amidst everything else. The formfactor and lightweight of the Galaxy Pro 360 are very captivating. Enclosed in an aluminum chassis (Mystic Navy Blue in my case), it weighs just a little over three pounds (3.06 lbs.) and has a very minimalist layout. The left side houses one of the two provided USB Type-C ports. The other items located on the left side are the operating status LED and a Thunderbolt 4 port. On the right side can be found the second USB Type-C port, a MicroSD Multi-media card reader (micro SD, micro SDHC and micro SDXC) and a headphone out/microphone in combo. In addition to charging USB Type-C devices, these ports (and the Thunderbolt 4 port) can each be used as the charging port for the PC via the included 65W USB Type-C adapter. My configuration had a 4405mAh 4 cell Li-ion battery that is rated for 20 hours. Two AKG tuned speakers rated at 4W are located underneath the computer along with the fan vents. The sound is amazingly clear and doesn’t appear negatively impacted by the speaker location. The backlit keyboard has a numeric pad and is also spill resistant. I found the keystroke travel acceptable given the overall size of the PC; it is only 0.47 inches at its thickest region by the hinges. The multi-gesture touchpad is generously sized and physically clicks. The power button also doubles as a fingerprint sensor/reader for security. Setup is easy and works very well. Underneath the hood is an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor (2.8GHz up to 4.7Ghz with 12MB L3 cache). The processor is also Intel Evo-certified which simply put means the device has been verified to provide top notch mobile performance such as instant wake, exceptional battery life and responsiveness. In my experience, even on the battery life focused setting, the Galaxy Pro 360 is quick in performance. Assisting the snappy CPU is 16GB of RAM for multitasking; the integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics card also uses this for video memory and is more than adequate for non-intensive video tasks. The RAM appears soldered to the motherboard though implying no possible upgrades. 1TB SSD for storage is more than enough for average use. Given Samsung’s history with SSD, you can be assured of longevity. For connectivity, there is Bluetooth 5.1 (low energy use, quicker connections) and Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) on the new 802.11ax standard. The centerstage of the Galaxy Pro 360 is the 15.6” glossy Super AMOLED touch screen. With a 1920 x 1080 (FHD) resolution and an aspect ratio of 16:9, it is a real joy to use. To be expected with the Super AMOLED technology employed in most Samsung tablets and tablets, colors “pop” and are brought to life with remarkable contrast ratios. Blacks are true blacks as the screen does not illuminate those areas, helping conserve battery unlike LCDs. Another advantage over the LCDs is the lack of light "bleed" around the screen edges. In addition to an Auto option, there are four other modes to choose from for content viewing: Vivid, Natural, PhotoEdit (photo editing) and Movie. Brightness is adequate, however, to be expected with a glossy screen, outdoor use can be a little challenging. As the name suggests, the rather sturdy hinges offer 360-degree rotation for conversion to either tablet or “tent” mode for an alternative viewing setup. Needless to say, the PC comes “binge-watching” ready. Above the screen is housed a 720p HD camera, a video camera LED indicator, a microphone with a dual array setup and an ambient light sensor that not only controls screen brightness but also the keyboard illumination. In addition to accepting touch input, the included S Pen can be used to take handwritten notes via the included Samsung Notes app. This iteration is ergonomic and feels more natural than its smaller Galaxy Note counterparts. It’s beveled to help prevent rolling and can magnetically attach to the chassis. There’s no defined storage for it by default but Samsung already has a case that will protect both the laptop and S Pen. Pressing the S Pen button while hovering over the screen delivers the S Pen features via Samsung’s Air Command. Highlights of the features are listed below: • Samsung Notes - Note creation via text or handwriting/doodle that can also capture audio and images • Smart select - For selecting, sharing or saving content. App can extract text from PDFs or save videos as GIFs • Screen write - Captures screenshot for scribbling or drawing • Live Message - Records handwriting or drawing action that is saved and played back as an animated file. Adds a personal touch to messages • PENUP - Samsung’s app for sharing and viewing Pen generated content globally. The app also provides coloring activities and live drawing tutorials to help develop sketch skills • Show Window - When connected to an external display (via an optional USB-Type C/Thunderbolt 4 to HDMI cable), selected area on the Galaxy Pro 360 can be projected in full screen on that external display Two other notable software are detailed below: • Link Sharing: This allows you to share content via a link. It conveniently has a two-day expiration; an inbuilt Dropbox • Samsung Security: Samsung deploys its own suite of security promoting features: a) Privacy Folder – Secures content in password protected folders b) Secret Screen – Uses window overlays of compatible apps to thwart prying eyes c) Block Recording – Prevents unwanted microphone or camera recording d) Security Cam – Emails pictures of failed log in attempts by unauthorized persons Samsung has come a long way and is no doubt a formidable force in both mobile and television industries. The Samsung Galaxy 360 is a very good effort to deliver some of its best innovations from both sectors in a very compact PC. Familiarity with Samsung's devices and software heightens the excitement but newbies will feel right at home too. The Galaxy Pro 360 is poised to be the device to seamlessly tackle both work and play, as we adjust to the new normal working from home.

Great laptop overall.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love that you can flip the screen over to lay flat. The only issue I've noticed is it's a little hard to use the mouse pad so I just end up using just the touch screen for scrolling. I like that the camera comes with filters so when zoom is up you can click which filter looks best. I wish there was a specific spot to hold the pen but it is magnetic so it'll stick to the top of the computer. It is very thin so it's nice that it's light weight but also harder to hold onto. I always feel like I could drop it and ruin it. I feel like the size is just a little too big to fit comfortably on my lap while it's folded over but it's a good size when it's upright with the keyboard.

Nice investment in a laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great computer but… It needs to be set up carefully. Windows 11 and all of the great things you purchase these days include special offers and benefits if you just join. Take your time to weed through this thoroughly. This laptop is fast and works well! Just two real wishes 1) hdmi 2) usb A type one of each would be fine! Other then that this 65+ user is slowly learning to appreciate the power of and the speed of and the storage capacity of this great laptop. The price was nice as well. Tried very hard to review the laptop and not Windows 11

Mostly fantastic, but expensive
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.--DESIGN-- This laptop is the usual “ultrabook” form factor where it is very thin, and can fold back into a tablet form. While not unusual, it is well done. You can set it up in “tent” mode and watch a movie on it while it is free-standing. The body appears to be made of plastic, and there is more deck flex than I would expect at this price point. For the money, I would have much preferred some metal in the construction, and for the unit to be more rigid. Still, it seems sturdy enough, so this may be nit-picking. It is certainly usable. I should note that the case itself appears to be a fingerprint magnet, so it will be difficult to keep it looking nice, if you care about that sort of thing. --DISPLAY-- The display on this laptop is fantastic for general use. It advertises itself as having “120% color volume.” While not explaining if this is referenced to sRGB or Adobe color space, I can still believe it. Compared side-by-side to a standard IPS display, the colors are noticeably more vivid. Being an AMOLED, the blacks certainly are black. I have no doubt that you could calibrate the color on this display to be quite accurate, if you have the equipment to do so. It is “only” 1920x1080, but that really is the sweet spot for this display size for my aging eyes. The display is also “only” 60Hz, so this might not appeal to twitch gamers, but they are not the target market. But this is, without a doubt, the finest display that I have ever used on a laptop. --PERFORMANCE-- This is where this little machine shines. It has the latest “Tiger Lake” CPU. It features four cores and eight threads. The performance and thermals of this are quite impressive. It gets a solid 4391 points on Cinebench R23. For reference, compare this to a gaming laptop with a six-core i7-9750H processor, it only lost by a little, but the gaming laptop ran much hotter, a lot noisier, and almost three times as thick. So the performance is surprisingly good given the size. It is good to finally see Intel making a CPU that can compete against AMD in terms of both performance and power. The new Intel integrated graphics is also great for non-gamers. It gets a Furmark FHD benchmark score of 1926 points and 32 FPS. While it would struggle with modern AAA titles, for older and casual gamers, it should be more than adequate. Finally, it has something that I have not seen before. CPU-Z reports the 16 GB RAM as being quad-channel. Dual-channel is standard, and some laptops don’t even have that. This may be partially responsible for the impressive Cinebench score. The cooling is also apparently well done. Even while running the CPU at 100%, the fan was not obnoxiously loud and the chassis did not have any apparent lap-burning hot spots. There is ample storage for almost anybody, as it has a 1TB solid-state drive. --CONNECTIVITY-- This is very much a mixed bag: a strange combination of awesome and disappointment. However, given the extra-thin nature of the body, I can understand why they did what they did. First, the bad: there are no HDMI or USB-A ports at all. The ONLY connectivity consists of three USB-C ports (one being a Thunderbolt), one micro-SD slot, and one headphone jack. That is it. If you have a common flash drive, you won’t find a place to plug it in without an adapter. If you want to hook this up to a television, make sure to keep a USB-C to HDMI adapter on hand. However, the USB-C ports are perfect. You can charge the laptop using ANY of the three ports, and all three also support displays. I managed to get one USB-C port to drive three monitors (two are 1080p and one is 1440p) with a suitable docking station (using DP alt mode: not Thunderbolt, and not DisplayLink). Even my gaming laptop can only support two displays at full resolution. --INTERFACE-- The keyboard seems to be of fine quality, and I encountered no problems with it. It is backlit, with three levels of brightness. It also features a shrunken numeric keypad on the right, so the center of the alphabet portion is shoved a little to the left. The numeric keypad also holds your movement keys (home, end, pages up and down), so you can have those or the numbers, but not both at the same time. Also in the upper-right corner is the power button with the fingerprint sensor (no unlocking the computer with your face). The touchpad is gigantic, and works well. The speakers did not provide any surprises given the size. The bass is a little stronger than expected, but still not very pronounced, and the volume is adequate for listening to videos, but certainly not room-filling. Big sound requires big speakers, and there just isn’t room. Finally, the laptop came with a pen. This works well, and should allow for easily taking notes and drawing (with the right software). A cursor is displayed under the pen when it just gets close to the screen, but nothing is activated until the tip touches the display. It also has a button that brings up useful pen options. One of the best things is that it does not appear to need a battery at all. No more trying to find strange “quadruple-A” batteries or forgetting to charge it. If there is one minus, it is that the pen might be easy to lose. There is no place to store it. It seems magnetic, and it sticks to the bottom of the keyboard area when the unit is opened, but there appears to be no place to put it when the laptop is closed where it would be safe enough to not drop it. The included quick start guide also gave no guidance on pen storage. --BATTERY-- I have not had it enough to exhaustively test the battery, but it certainly seems to last a long time, depending upon usage. I used Firefox to stream a YouTube video (full screen, 50% brightness, audio muted) for three hours, and the battery went from 100% down to around 70%. This implies that the battery would fully die after about 10 hours. If you are just doing light office work (word processing, spreadsheet, etc.) I suspect that the battery would last much longer. This should easily last an entire day of school or work. The included USB-C charger is TINY. I would expect a charger that size to be suitable for a phone, but it actually supports 65W charging. --CONCLUSION-- While it commands a premium price, this is nearly the perfect ultrabook. The only things lacking are: USB-A and HDMI ports, and a stiffer chassis.

Good laptop but screen cracks easily
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good laptop but the screen is not well supported. After a couple months of regular use a small crack appeared down the middle of the screen. The laptop stays on our desk so it had to happen while opening or closing it. It's unfortunate because it's a good laptop otherwise. Have read other reviews that mention the same issue.

Overall great laptop (with a horrible web cam)
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We’ve been relying on our laptops more than ever in the last year, and shortages have caused choice to usually be limited to the very cheap or very expensive, with many of the mid-range systems having been scooped up by people needing to work and/or school from home this year. So, the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 enters the scene as a not-so-cheap laptop with higher end features, but still not among the top priced competitors. The Galaxy Pro 360 is a beautiful machine. It’s incredibly thin and light at around 3 pounds and thin as a typical smart phone. The Mystic Navy color is very attractive (though it does attract fingerprints easily). Being so thin, you have one thunderbird port, and three USB-C ports with a microSD card reader and headphone jack, but unfortunately that thinness excludes an optical drive, HDMI port, or any standard USB ports (there is no USB-A to USB-C adapter in the box – boo). A 65 watt fast charger and cord is included, so charging won’t take long at all. Samsung claims up to 20 hours of battery life per charge (I got more like 8 to 11ish, in real-world use; yours may vary depending on how you use it). The standout feature of the Galaxy Pro 360 is the very nice 15.6”, 1080p, AMOLED display. It’s not the very brightest outdoors, but bright enough for my uses (indoors), and being AMOLED, the colors are saturated and the blacks stand out very well. You can swivel the screen from standard use to tent mode, or all the way back to tablet mode. A Galaxy s-pen is included in the box – it’s larger than the s-pens you see with Note phones, but feels good in the hand. With this pen, you can do a lot on the Pro 360’s touch screen with the included Samsung software; take hand notes, copy areas of the screen for screen shots, notate web pages, sign documents, edit videos, screen record, and more. It takes a little practice, but comes in very handy. There’s no slot in the laptop to slide it into, though – but it will magnetically stick to the lid. The keyboard (lit) is a bit thin, but still has some tact to it when typing. Not the best I’ve used, but not bad. If you’re a hard typist you’ll feel a little flex but not terribly so. It does include a full numeric keypad on the right (slightly smaller than standard size). A fingerprint reader key on the upper-right doubles as the power-on button. The speakers are more on the side/underside and are at best average, not being very loud and a lacking bass; ok for general use and with tweaking can sound better, but if listening to serious music, you’ll want to use a Bluetooth speaker. The one VERY bad part about the Pro 360? The web cam. Ugh… 720p (!), not very sharp, and very poor in lower light. This is my one HUGE complaint. Samsung put a $350 laptop web cam on a $1,500 laptop, in a time when more than ever, people are relying on video conferencing for work and school – why, Samsung… why? My model has a newest generation i7 processor, 16 gigs of RAM, a very fast and nice sized 1 terabyte SSD drive, and built-in Iris graphics which works surprisingly fast for integrated graphics. You won’t have an issue doing all of your daily work, photo editing, and even video editing so long as you’re not rendering a Hollywood blockbuster. Most games except the most high-end should work fine. Mine didn’t stumble at all, no matter what I did. My Galaxy ear Buds connected seamlessly with the laptop, and if you are part of the Samsung ecosystem, you can also connect many of Samsung’s Galaxy phones to the Pro 360 to swap data and interact. I MOSTLY love the Pro 360. I love love love the screen, the beautiful body and overall build quality, the color, and the basic specs being speedy, along with the s-pen’s convenience. What I don’t like is the sound quality from the speakers, lack of legacy ports (USB-A and HDMI), and the dare I say it again, horrible web cam. So, as long as you realize you’ll probably need to use an external speaker for real serious music playback, and third-party web cam with this, many should feel ok with this laptop. Also again, remember to buy a USB-A to USB-C adapter if you plan on using older accessories with it. Recommend with good marks, minus a star for the web cam.

Cracked Screen
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this high end laptop in June and I loved it until after about 6 months the screen cracked just by opening it. Wasn't misused or dropped it just cracked. Checking online it seems to be a problem with the 15 inch model. Best Buy said it was covered for 30 days. I opened a ticket with Samsung and they finally got back to me and said I would have to pay. The cost would be close to $400. Guess I will live with the crack. I put a screen saver on it to hopefully contain the spread. It really is a nice laptop but buyer beware!
