I’ve had the Galaxy Book 5 Pro for several weeks now, and it is quite the machine.
It is thin and portable, but has a luxurious and substantial feel to it. The 16” AMOLED touchscreen is responsive, bright, and outstanding with its 3K panel. Colors were bright and vibrant, and whether I was playing the low-definition Stardew Valley or streaming 4K videos on Netflix, I was not disappointed in the quality of the picture. Connection ports are standard, with two USB-C (one used for charging), one ‘old-school’ USB-A port, HDMI, a micro-SD card reader, and a headphone jack.
The Book 5 Pro has a 1 TB SSD as well as 16 GB of RAM. The Intel Ultra 7 is snappy. At no point during use did I ever feel like the performance was being throttled, I never heard a cooling fan come on, and the Book 5 Pro never got warm. The only disappointment is the lack of a decent graphics card. Instead, the Book 5 Pro comes with integrated Intel graphics, which functions well enough for standard day-to-day use, but is not going to support heavy gaming. Although, I admit, I was surprised when I was able to get 30 FPS on a couple of games run on ‘Low’ settings. Games that were not graphics intensive, like the aforementioned Stardew Valley and Rocksmith had no issues on the Book 5 Pro, but when stepping up into more intensive graphics in games like God of War or Assassins Creed, the Book 5 Pro stuttered pretty bad.
The keyboard is perfect, in my opinion. The keys don’t have a large amount of travel, but they feel great, with a nice, well-resolved click. Typing is easy and fast. I like the separate number pad on the right side of the laptop. The mousepad is sensitive and capable.
Aside from the absolutely gorgeous screen, the Book 5 Pro also touts outstanding battery life. I went several days at work without charging it, while checking emails, surfing the internet, playing some less intensive games, and watching a couple of movies. To be honest, I was absolutely floored by just how good the battery life is. I think Samsung claims 25 hours, and I didn’t get that, but I did get a good 18 hours before I had to charge. I am shocked that with such a beautiful screen battery life can be so amazing.
I have really enjoyed my time with the Galaxy Book 5 Pro. It is a definite keeper.

If you already have a Book3 Pro, do not buy this computer. You don't need it. Where do I begin? The box was destroyed when I received it, but the computer was in good shape. You will quickly realize the computer itself feels cheaper and more flimsy. It was glitchy while setting it up. None of the fancy marketing videos tell you that you don't actually get an AI computer with a seamless AI experience. Expect to watch endless youtube videos and do AI searches to even find out what you should have. Then you have to try to find the programs/or download it somewhere. Nothing is seamless. Your computer says Copilot+ AI PC, but it isn't. Copilot+ doesn't come installed, and good luck getting help from Best Buy. There is nothing special about this PC. The Windows update is notorious for failing. I had to get on youtube to figure out how to find a workaround. It took more than an hour to update and I have great internet. That was after I messed with it for more than an hour trying to get it to update over and over again. Copilot couldn't even figure it out. Save your money. The only positive I can say about it is that it doesn't get as hot as the book3 and the fan is quieter. Do not waste your money. The good reviews are likely from people who don't have an earlier model. I regret this purchase and STILL don't have Copilot+ or any of the "alleged" AI features it is supposed to have. The few AI tools I was able to find are attached to Bing (not a fan). If the Copilot+ issue doesn't get resolved tomorrow I am returning it. For reference, I have 6 PCs and this is the worst experience I've ever had setting one up.

I am really enjoying the new Samsung - Galaxy Book5 Pro! I have used other Samsung laptops in the past and have to say that the features/upgrades included in this unit have improved the overall experience compared to previous models. The build-quality is superb. The new 3K Dynamic AMOLED 2x display with touchscreen is probably my favorite feature, offering an incredibly crisp and vibrant picture, which is great for high-quality visuals. The efficient performance of the Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 2 processor and the overall quieter operation of this unit, due to minimal fan noise, are also notable upgrades that add to the overall appeal.
The expanded selection of ports, including HDMI 2.1, USB-A 3.2, Thunderbolt 4/USB-C and microSD, along with the repositioned speakers really contribute to a more immersive and convenient experience for everyday tasks. Packing 16GB of RAM and a 1TB NVMe SSD, this laptop is ready to tackle all of the daily tasks I can throw at it. The backlit keyboard, touchpad, and overall solid build quality make it a joy to use, whether for work or leisure purposes. The battery life is decent for such a thin laptop even though it stays plugged in more than 80% of the time. Still nice to know it can hold a charge while I'm on the move.
Overall, the Samsung - Galaxy Book5 Pro is performing well for general use, especially considering it has some high-performance specs. Samsung has done an exceptional job packing a whole lot of punch in such a sleek and thin package.

The Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro is a nice laptop with good functionality. If you’re a Samsung Galaxy phone user, it’s even better :) Cool, quiet, light, and thin, this laptop is well featured for a modern ultrabook.
I was initially aggravated at the Galaxy5 Pro’s stuttering, slow experience, even after a couple of reboots and a mountain of updates were completed. Then a giant McAfee pop-up notified me that McAfee was here, likely causing the stuttering and slowness, so I uninstalled it. The reboot after the uninstall was immediately better. I thought it was a bit odd that a modern, brand new computer would have these stutters and hitches. I had to remember that this machine is not built for maximum speed all the time. The “Intel Core 7 Ultra EVO Edition 256V” in the laptop is built to sip power with a TDP of 17 watts, which is amazing. Having the laptop plugged in makes it snappier in response and faster in processing. While the laptop is off the cord, it does a good job keeping the CPU and RAM clocks as low as possible to maximize battery life. In everyday use, it barely even gets warm and you won’t have to hear the dentist drill-like fan. If you play games that involve the GPU, you’ll get to sample that for yourself, I recommend headphones :D
Battery life is spectacular, I ran it for 12 hours straight and it showed 46% battery remaining. After I cycle the battery about 10 more times, it should be even better. Just wow. I counted 28 Samsung branded apps installed from the factory. At least 18 started on boot. 28 updated themselves and none of them have release notes or any reason they run automatically in the background on boot. Taking these out if you don’t have any use for them might get you a little more battery life. When I tested the run time, I had removed all of the Samsung software from the computer.
AI features are available with the NPU integrated into the Intel Core Ultra 7 265V EVO Edition (stop with the names) and the Windows tools that make use of it worked right out of the box. I was able to test some software that makes use of the NPU, Affinity Photo 2 will use the NPU when you are selecting an object in the photo. Without the NPU on my main desktop, it does a “good” job with automatically selecting a person. With the NPU, it’s clearly faster and the selection is extremely good, keeping tight and maintaining silhouette on the subject much better than the older, non-machine learning, version. I look forward to being able to use “AI” software locally on my machine to do things for me, but those days will be a while coming.
The AMOLED display seems to be the hook of this machine. This screen is very sharp and bright with blazing whites and dark, inky blacks. Colors are all very saturated and attractive, if not entirely realistic. You do not get full brightness on the screen while on battery. It appears the screen is dimmed roughly 10-15% when on battery. That doesn’t really matter for my use case, as I can barely look at the display at full brightness. The screen is capable of such brightness that you can likely run this one with the screen on a half setting, saving battery and perhaps extending the display’s lifespan, which I understand is limited in comparison to more mainstream display technologies. Spoiler alert – I can’t unsee the intrusive rounded corners on the display now… death by a thousand cuts.
Which leads to the primary human interface device, the keyboard. The keys are too shallow to allow for the razor thin profile of the laptop. The keys are pushed to the left to make room for the checkbox filling numpad that is somewhere around 70% or less large than a standard one. While this fills a checkbox, it ruins the actual keyboard, making it uncomfortable and tiring to use.
The camera on this laptop is atrocious. It’s perhaps the worst webcam I’ve seen for a while. I really expected the people who crow about how good their phone cameras are to spend $2 extra and put in something better, because the one included is fuzzy, low resolution, and has terrible light handling. I would buy a separate camera if you are going to be doing any amount of video conferencing with this Galaxy Book5.
The last real complaint I have about the Samsung Book5 is the cheap looking adapter, in bright white, which reminds me how cheap it is by the bad molding on the USB-C plug. Out of the box, the lid was offset from the base by a few millimeters, which doesn't inspire confidence in the longevity, but only time will tell.
ok… one more…The blue LED on the side is tacky, and you can’t turn it off, it’s always on when the computer is running.
Overall, a stylish, functional laptop. The shortcomings lead me to not recommend it, but it’s not a terrible machine, I think it needs some work to be a more competitive offering to claim “Pro” status.

Samsung has come a long way in their laptop design. The Galaxy Book 5 Pro 16" is remarkable in many ways. Over this past week I've been using it for school and find that it is responsive, snappy and loads programs quickly, it's large 16" AMOLED display is vibrant and it's high resolution makes media consumption really enjoyable.
As far as product design is concerned, aesthetically, they nailed it. It's a sleek and the screen feels like it is impossibly thin, yet the rigid metal housing makes everything feel strong and reliable. The keyboard is backlit making using the device at night, or in less than amazing lighting easy. And the trackpad is enormous. The i7 Ultra powering it is a workhorse, but still efficient enough for them to boast a 20 hour batter life. My experience is closer to 11 hours of mixed usage, and even less if you are really pushing it. but dropping the brightness down and doing light internet browsing I could see this reaching it's 20 hour mark or at least getting really close.
Where I fell they still need to work on things is the keyboard and style of trackpad used. The keyboard is serviceable, theres little deck flex, and the keys all work just fine. But the shallow throw of the keys makes the feedback I get while typing less than steller. And where the size of the trackpad is amazing, first impressions made me beleive it was going to be a solid haptic trackpad. The overall device design really gave me that impression that the same sturdy design motif would carry on there. Unfortunately, while it is a large, and very useable trackpad it is still the same old "diving board" that pivots from the top when you press down on it clicking a real microswitch under the trackpad rather than being a firm immoveable trackpad that can sense pressure and simulate the feel of a click through a haptic motor. Not a deal breaker for most I am sure, but it was something serious of note that I feel in 2025 we should have long since moved past these old mechanisms as it cheapens the feel of an otherwise top-class premium machine.
While this is no gaming laptop by any means, integrated Intel Arc graphics does give you a little breathing room to play some games quite competently so long as you are willing to lower your resolution and understand that you will likely have to set almost everything to low, at least on newer games. Should comfortably be able to play older games like Skyrim, and most esports titles just fine. And games like Minecraft run great. The 16GBs of ram really let you go ham with Mods.
There are certainly things here I would love to see improved, but the whole package is a solid business/school workhorse with plenty of screen to be able to use multiple programs at once. Connectivity on the device is solid, with 2 thunderbolt ports, a full sized USB A port, headphone jack and micro SD card reader. Though you will have to sacrifice one of those thunderbolt ports while you charge. That said, the included charger is a 65W USB C PD brick about the same size as your typical phone charger and uses a detachable usb c to c cable, so you can easily swap out for a longer cable, or just use it to charge your phone when your laptop doesn't need a top up.
If you are deep in the Samsung ecosystem all the expected software is preinstalled, for getting connected with your other Samsung tech goodies including taking advantage of things like samsung galaxy buds automatically swapping between connected devices as needed. In the world of windows computers this is probably the closest you will get to that 'Apple ecosystem' experience, and I think they ahve done a decent job at keeping a reasonable feature parody.
I like it. As I'm working with the adobe suite in my classes this machine has rolled with the punches, and provided a stable, and snappy performance in the primary apps I'm dealing with, and the large screen gives me plenty of work space. All while it's slim design cuts down the weight you would normally attribute to the big laptops. But finding a laptop sleeve for it has been a chore... so many 15.6" laptop sleeves.... where are the 16" laptop sleeves!?

I have historically bought 15.6" and 16" sized laptops which have GPU cards since I like to play games on my laptops too. I took a chance on this 14" Samsung because I wanted better portability and to see what the AI and Co-pilot hype was all about. Like the title says, this is a very light weight and small form factor laptop that does anything you need it to do, outside of heavy gaming. Charging it with the Samsung provided fast charger and cable is super fast, takes only around 40 mins. The light on the side tells you when it is ready. Getting started is just like every other windows laptop. The screen is the best I've ever owned, nice and vibrant and I'm familiar with all the settings due to already having a Samsung phone. WiFi 7 is blazing fast and connects with zero issues. Backlit keyboard is adjustable and the keys are so nice and smooth. AI seems to work similar to my phone, which I like, not intrusive. All my data, Excel, word processing, and basic games run well and snappy. After the first major update, I noticed this laptop synced with my larger laptop and I had all my files and pictures. Overall, super premium laptop, travels extremely well, easy to charge, and performs without a hitch. Well done Samsung.

This is a sleek, simple, light laptop. The Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro really dazzles with the AMOLED screen. As expected Samsung has a great bright display. It's a little weird that the screen is rounded. All my other laptops are squared off. I haven't found an issue, just different. I love that Samsung is efficient with the space even with a giant track pad. This is the same size as my 15” Alienware that doesn't have a full keyboard like this one. It's nice that it's equipped with a finger print reader however I'd prefer facial recognition to log in. I'm extremely surprised that the camera is not high enough quality to use that feature. At least according to Windows when I tried to set it up. I haven't had any issues with the track pad activating while I'm typing so it looks like Samsung has done a great job with palm recognition.
I'm a little disappointed in Samsung's push that this laptop is good for creators. I was able to do creating and editing with Adobe Photoshop and Premier, however when I went to export my video it took twice as long as my older laptop. It also took twice as long to transfer videos over the USB-C to be edited. What was a pleasant surprise though was the battery and heat distribution. I was able to do video editing on battery power only far longer than my other laptop and the Book5 wasn't even hot. This is a major improvement from what I have been working with. It also charged extremely fast once I did plug it in while I was working. So just know that you are sacrificing some video rendering time with the other benefits.
Even though this doesn't really have the specs of a gaming laptop without a powerful NVIDIA, I tried it out anyways. I played Diablo III and it was smooth. Paired with the great display it was really enjoyable. So for some light gaming I think this gets the job done. The sound is also impressive for how small everything is. You notice the subwoofer added to this model when you play music. I was surprised this doesn't come with a big power supply. It just has a fast charging wall wart which helps with it's portability. It feels durable with it's aluminum casing. I didn't really notice any of the AI features outside of having a dedicated Copilot key.
Overall this is a pretty good laptop. It does a good enough job at content creating but I would of expected it to excel at it with all the advertising. I think the connectivity with other Samsung devices is pretty cool but I haven't found a need for it yet. The battery life is very impressive. I would recommend this if the short comings are acceptable.

While unboxing the Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro I was immediately impressed by the low profile, polished aluminum casing and the 16-inch AMOLED touchscreen. 16GB of memory and 1 TB SSD provides plenty of RAM to run multiple applications simultaneously and plenty of storage for photos and gaming. The touchscreen is made of Corning Gorilla Glass that’s antireflective, automatically adjusts the screen to allow the best picture in different lighting, has full HD screen resolution, and amazing screen responsiveness. This laptop also offers the option of connecting your Galaxy Tab S Series as a second screen to provide additional workspace. There is a very large track pad, but I don’t believe the screen or touchpad are compatible with any type of stylus (like Samsung’s S pen) that would allow you to draw on the screen or write notes. There is another version of this laptop, the 360, that is compatible with the S pen. This capability would have been a great addition to this version also. Surprisingly there is no IR camera to allow the use of biometric security features like facial recognition. I also wish the keyboard were backlit for use in less than optimal lighting.
The lightweight and low profile make this laptop ideal for someone who travels for work or a student who is constantly on the run. It weighs in at just less than 3.5 lbs. and measures approximately 10’h x 12’w x 0.5’d. Included are a fast charging block and a charging cord that is USB C on both ends. The inputs on the computer are one USB Type-A, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one HDMI 2.1 port, a headphone/microphone jack, and a MicroSD media card slot. Samsung advertises up to 25hour battery life with its lithium-ion battery and up to a 35% fast charge in 30 minutes using the included charger and cord. I found the initial charge to last over 20 hours and that a 30-minute fast charge produced a 30% charge. Both of which are impressive.
The Galaxy Book5 Pro has 4 speakers with Dolby Atmos surround sound. I tested the sound by playing downloaded music and streaming an action movie. The speakers sounded great but did have slight distortion of the bass when the volume was maxed out. This computer generates almost no noise and after surfing the Internet for several hours I noticed that the cooling fan had clicked on but it was extremely quiet.
This computer runs on the newest Windows11 Home operating system with state of the art Copilot+ PC artificial intelligence. It has the latest Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 2 processor which helps the computer operate quickly even with numerous processes running. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth provided amazing response time while working and almost immediate connections to both my home and outside networks. While my uses for this laptop are pretty generic I haven’t scratched the surface of some of the next generation tech that it offers. I hope to explore more of these features in the near future, including:
• Phone Link which allows you to sync your smartphone and PC
• AI Select lets you trace or circle an image on the screen and get search results
• Photo Remaster retouches photos in the Samsung Gallery
• Live Captions automatically generates captions in English during meetings and video streaming when it detects other languages being spoken
• Bixby the built-in voice assistant
While this is definitely not an entry-level laptop it is very easy to use and it will definitely appeal to those on the market for the most up to date technology.
