I bought this expensive earbuds thinking it was as good as the first one I get. This earbuds come out easily, for that reason I was going to return it. And the left one just comes out and fall in the sewer at work, today my wife say go to the bestbuy to return it, cause it comes out so easily ouf my ears. I will understand if I was running with them, just sitting and it comes out.

In comparison with other earbuds I own and have reviewed on here, these things are among the best sounding and have the best noise cancelling. However, fit and battery life could be better. No instructions or “quick start” guide in the box as others have noted. Owners manual: https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/202102/20210205043252788/WEA_SM-R190_Buds_Pro_EN_UM_010621_FINAL_AC.pdf Setup was easy. They connected up with my Samsung Note 10+ and wife’s Note 9 with no problem via the Galaxy Wearable app. The app gives you options for noise cancelling, ambient sound, touch control, EQ and voice control. Also online user manual with app. Please note that My review is on how well these earbuds work and sound. Not a step by step setup and every option explained in deep detail. Please see the owner's manual for that in the link above. When used on a phone call nobody had any problems hearing what I was saying and said they sounded very good. Audio quality in a call was excellent on my end ANC on or off. The Shape and fitting of the earbuds into your ears is a bit weird. They insert what appears to be upside down and twist. During that time they might make annunciation sounds that you are activating or deactivating a feature. Maybe Samsung can update the FW so they ignore touches until both are in your ears a couple of seconds. Speaking of which, there are touch options and touch and hold options for various functions like taking a call, ANC on/off, ambient sound on/off, pause, next track, previous track, ect. See the app for settings and options. Once in your ears deep and tight enough to block ambient sounds you’re good to go. But you may need to try the different included rubber tips that fit on them to get a snug fit in your ear canal. (see photo) Too small and they fall out. Too tight and they will start to make your ear canal hurt after a short while, like the majority of earbuds do. Say 10 minutes or less. Even with a good comfortable fit in the beginning they can become uncomfortable after a while. Say 30 minutes on. This is not uncommon from my experience for devices that seal up in the ear canal. Just a matter or how much discomfort or pain you can tolerate. I was able to get a good seal with no discomfort until well over an hour of wear and only mild after that with the tips that they were shipped with. Worked ok for my wife with the smallest tips. Battery life leaves a bit to be desired. I only got about 4 hours with ANC on. About 5 with it off and ambient sound on. This is the shortest life of all other wireless earbuds I have. They recharge in a rechargeable case that you charge using a standard 5 VDC phone charger. They include a USB cable with a USB C plug on one end and standard on the other. The case tells you charge status. Inside LED for the buds and outside LED for the case. The app also tells this info. You can also use wireless power share to recharge them if you own a device that has this feature. You simply enable the feature and place the case on the back of your phone. This works well but if you have a case on your phone you will probably have to remove it. Nowhere in Samsung’s owner manual or on any site did I find recharge times. Sound Quality for music is Excellent! Deep bass that’s not muddy. Super clean highs that are not harsh. These buds have an 11mm woofer and 6.5mm tweeter in each. They are on par with my Master & Dynamic - MW07 PLUS (10mm driver) earbuds. The app has preset EQ options like flat, bass boost, treble boost and such. I liked the “Dynamic” preset the best. It will work along with other EQ options with the Samsung Music app as well as other apps. They are not super bass heavy, they are well balanced. I tested the audio quality with my usual group of artists known for their exquisite recording and production quality such as Steely Dan and Alan Parsons. I was impressed! :-) Active Noise Cancelling is the best of all of the earbuds that I have. It can almost block out my noisy shop vac and will block running water while also running the disposal in the kitchen sink. Keep in mind that this is with music playing at a medium level. You will still hear things without music playing, however, with music playing, even at a low level, is when ANC seems to work the best. One of the features that I like is that you can set them up to kick in ambient sound when you start talking. This lets you converse without having to mess with the app or earbuds. You can set them the resume ANC after a preset time if your voice isn’t heard. You can also set them to change EQ settings for calls vs music and then return to music EQ when your call ends. You can also have them set up to read notifications aloud too.If you lose them use the app to make them beep to find them. There's also Bixby options too. The build quality for this device is very good for this price. They are water resistant to 3 feet for 30 minutes. But don’t put em in the charger box wet or dirty, and not for pool and beach use, Samsung advises. The build quality for this device is very good for this price. Conclusion: If I had to pick just one set of earbuds from all that I have it would probably be these. They have the best audio for music and the best noise cancelling. What would make me not pick them. Battery life.

The Galaxy Buds Pro are a good choice for someone in the Samsung ecosystem and wants sound quality that is top notch. The biggest appeal of this Buds is the integration with Samsung devices. In the Wearables app, there are a number of useful features that make these earbuds even better. I cannot speak for other phones, but with my S20 Ultra, I find voice detect, dynamic equalizer and 360 audio to be awesome features. The Buds feel like modern earbuds with all these new features we haven't seen before in similar earbuds. Sound quality is very impressive. It has a clear sound, but manages to maintain that booming bass; the balance is impressive, most earbuds cannot balance the two as well as the Buds. Using the Buds made me appreciate Samsung's choice to put two drivers in the Buds. The noise canceling is solid, but has its limits. Voices and loud hums (i.e. a loud fan) can still be heard, but they still provide the isolation from the world. I prefer the sound of the Buds to Bose's earbuds, but the Bose provides better active noise canceling. The ambient mode is good; music at low to medium volumes doesn't affect my ability to hear voices. The AirPods Pro are slightly better at transparency mode and ANC (in my opinion), but the Buds are far better sounding. The microphone is good, but falls behind AirPods Pro, but the Buds do have good microphones. Finally, I thought I should add, the battery life is solid and doesn't prevent me from using ANC or listening for extended periods. For my needs and preferences, the Buds hit every mark for performance and features. My only issue is the fit. At times, they feel great and snug; other times, i have push them back in every so often. It was more frequent at first, but when I put in the proper ear tips, rotated them so the the mic was facing directly down and made sure the ear tip was truly in, it made them far better fitting. I wish they were less of a hassle to fit, but once I got it, there is little to complain about. However, I do think this design may just not work for some. If you have had trouble with earbuds before, perhaps check out Sony's truly wireless earbuds or Bose's. I just can't recommend these in good faith to anyone who has trouble with earbuds before because I have never had an issue, always just used the tips that were attached when purchased, but these were the first. Overall, I would recommend if you prefer sound over ANC/transparency or microphones and haven't had issues with similar designs or are willing to return them.

An Incredibly Solid Pair of Headphones

There is a TLDR at the end for those of you that got scared clicking read more and see a wall of text appear on your screen. Since there's a lot I have to say about these headphones, grab some popcorn, a soda, and strap in. As a forward, I have only tried these for a few hours, so I will update this post if my opinions change at all. Some initial things to get out of the way, I am by no means an experienced audiophile. I do enjoy the many different aspects of audio though. I love the character of vinyl and have tried many different headphones over the years. By many, I mean dozens, as I have a very weirdly shaped ear canal that has trouble getting in-ear headphones to fit correctly. My main daily pair of headphones is the second-gen Airpods since they are the only thing that fit my ear well. I also have a pair of Skullcandy Crushers for when I want a pair of car subs attached to my ears and Jaybird X3's with Comply tips for skating and exercising. My testing device is a Note 20 Ultra, using Spotify set to the extreme quality setting (320kbps to my knowledge). FIT AND COMFORT This category is incredibly subjective, as everyone's ears are different. I will say, however, that this is the first pair of in-ear headphones that fit my incredibly weird ears out of the box!!! I've done the shake test and they stay pretty well in there. Comfort is a 5/5 DESIGN AND BUILD QUALITY The design and build are top-notch on these buds. The case feels incredibly solid and is about the same size as the case on my Airpods (the buds case is slightly thicker). The buds themselves look great and the mirror finish is nice to look at. Overall, very well designed and built and thusly, gets a 5/5. SOUND QUALITY Another bit of forwarding before I jump in, this is another subjective category. I am sensitive to "bright" headphones (where the highs or treble are too high and sound painful to my ear) and steer away from them as soon as I notice them. I am only going to be commenting on certain tracks and genres that I enjoy and actively listen to. I am blown away from the raw quality of the sound coming out of these! I had the Airpods Pro for a bit, and these sound similar but tuned for a tad more bass. This is exactly what I was looking for. You also have a couple of preset EQ options to tune it more to your liking or listening habits for the day. I'm hoping adjustable EQ support comes in the future to help dial in the sound signature to your liking. I'll break down each track and categorize it by genre. -ELECTRONIC/HOUSE/OTHER SUB-GENRES Transformer by Moog: I chose this track to see if the backing cymbal can be heard amidst the rest of the song. It's very clear, along with the rest of the track. Bass also sounds very nice, not overdone, and very tight and punchy. Clarity and great bass quality will be a reoccurring character in this segment. -ROCK/METAL I Love You to Death by Family Force 5: (This is the song I used for the shake test.) This is a track that I like to crank and test the audio quality at high volume. I can confirm that these buds sound just as good at high volumes. The cymbals don't destroy my ears, the guitars are very clear, and SGA's screams are great. Suck My Kiss by Red Hot Chili Peppers: This is another track that regularly gets cranked. Flea's bass sounds perfect and once again, clear as day. The drums also sound killer. -RAP Jump by Mac Miller: I chose this track to hear how clear and tight the bass was. The bassline on this one can sound very different depending on what headphones you use. It's tight and punchy with these. Clarity was also strong on this one. Bless Yo Trap by Smokepurpp: This song is perfect for its incredibly heavy (but well-produced) bass. This track through the Crushers will literally shake my head, it's great. These buds handle the drum machine (cymbal perhaps?) in the background very, very well. Most headphones will usually force me to limit the volume because it sounds so shrill. Not on these. I can crank them up and not worry about it. The bass left a bit to be desired... Until I used the bass booster EQ, which as you can probably guess, upped the bass and still sounded punchy and tight. Well done. Big Fish by Vince Staples: I also tested the bass booster EQ on this one. I noticed when it was enabled, it started to eat into the clarity of the mids a bit. Without the EQ it sounds crystal clear. Where I'm From by Digable Planets: This song's nice short bassline can sound different depending on your headphones. Very accurate and well-controlled bass on this one. -CLASSICS Rocket 69 by Todd Rhodes: This is the "make it or break it" moment for figuring out if headphones are too "bright" for me. Todd's vocals, along with the amazing sax solo can destroy my ears on some headphones. These handle this track PERFECTLY. Everything seems very well controlled and balanced. These buds produce a fantastic sound, without over-emphasizing any one aspect of the sound profile. Bass is nice and subdued (you could be surprised with what the Crushers do to this track) and the highs are not shrill or painful to my ears. The mids sound crisp and clear. -POP/NOT SURE THE GENRE Sit Next to Me by Foster the People: I was surprised by this track. I never noticed the bass guitar before. This is when I realized how much I was missing using the Airpods. Everything is so well defined and the stereo separation is perfect. Not much else to say about this one, as everything about it sounds great. -COUNTRY What Was I Thinkin' by Dierks Bentley: This track was another case of pure clarity. I could easily hear and discern every instrument and they were separated perfectly. A joy to listen to on these. Nothing was overblown on this one either, the bass might be a bit too high, but it's so tight that it adds to the sound in my opinion. All of these tracks sound great to my ear and easily get a 5/5 MEDIA CONTROLS Finally, something I dislike about these headphones. The single tap to pause/play a track works just fine. If you try to double-tap to skip/replay it is incredibly hit or miss. I'm not sure if this can be solved through software, or if my finger just doesn't hit the touch surface as well as it would like. Usually what ends up happening is, I double-tap to skip a track and it registers it as one tap, thus pausing my music. I then double-tap again to try to get it to skip and it just starts playing where it left off. Finally, on the third time, it will skip the track. Adjusting the buds usually ends up registering as a tap and will also usually pause your music, just trying to get it pressed in your ear better. It also does this sometimes when you initially take out the buds from the case and put it in your ear. It's a big pain in the butt right now and gets a 2/5 NOISE CANCELING Don't buy these for some Bose or Airpod Pro level ANC. They're good at sound isolation when you're playing something, but pausing a track won't leave you saying "wow" like with the Airpod Pros. The only testing I've done so far with the noise canceling is cleaning around the house and listening to them while typing up this review. When a track is playing I can't hear my keyboard, but paused they're just about as clear as having the ambient sound mode on. I'll conduct further testing on these and report back with my findings. For now, it gets a 1/5. (UPDATE: I've done some testing outside with them now and they are pretty good at blocking the lower frequencies. It takes a little bit for the noise canceling algorithm to catch up with the noise around you, but I would say it blocks out somewhere in the neighborhood of 50-60% of the noise around you. It also is great at removing wind noise at moderate speeds. Based on these new findings, it gets a 3/5. Not great, but not terrible or useless either.) AMBIENT MODE I'm happy to see that someone has finally implemented a function that allows the ambient mode to auto switch to on when you're speaking to someone. It's worked perfectly from the testing I've done so far. The ambient mode also sounds almost as good as the Airpod Pros' function. It works well, thus netting a 5/5 CONCLUSION I am simply blown away by these headphones. So much so, that I spent nearly 2 hours writing this review. They do almost everything they set out to do exceedingly well. I am hoping that future software updates will fix the issues that I currently have with them. I will be replacing my Airpods with these and will be recommending them to my friends. Well done Samsung, you have a real winner on your hands. Well, that wraps it up. For the TLDR readers out there: they sound amazing, ANC and touch controls suck majorly right now, the build and comfort are perfect, and I would easily recommend them.

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Pro Earbuds have come a long way since the manufacturer’s debut with the Galaxy Buds. Having owned a pair of the original Galaxy Buds, the Galaxy Buds Pro experience is a very well deserved improvement over the iconic originals. Packaging is minimal: • Galaxy Buds Pro earbuds • Charging cable (USB-C and USB-A connectors) • Charging case • Additional earbud tips Setup is seamless via the Galaxy Wearable app: simply take the earbuds out of the case, select “Add new device”, enable your location and the apps does the rest. The form factor is only slightly bigger than the original Galaxy Buds. I appear to be blessed with ear canals that simply lock earbuds in and keep them in! The Galaxy Buds Pro are no exception and remain comfortable even with extended use. Two additional earbud tips are included to assist with the fit, should it be required. Physically, the only controls on the earbuds are the touch pads/areas that perform a myriad of functions through different combinations of touch inputs: a double touch answers and ends calls, for example. I have found them to be very sensitive and have inadvertently ended calls as I tried to wear them. To prevent accidental touches, they can be turned off via the Galaxy Wearable app. Off the heels of the Buds +, the app also displays the charging case battery level which the original Galaxy Buds could not do. An IPX7 rating provides some degree of water resistance, however, I typically wipe them down to clean any sweat that could possibly corrode the terminals. Tuned by AKG, calls are crisp and clear to all parties. Paired with my Note 20 Ultra, I am able to stay on calls down at the ground floor with the phone upstairs on the third floor. To elevate the listening experience, a six setting equalizer is included that delivers punchy tones with the Bass Boost setting. The Galaxy Buds Pro employ Active Noise Cancelling and Ambient sound modes for noise control. To obtain the best benefit of these features, it is important the earbuds fit well. Active Noise Cancelling has two modes: high and low, depending on the degree of isolation desired. In my experience, there was very little difference between the two but I keep the high setting. The Ambient sound mode also has four settings to help fine tune your reception. On the maximum “extra high” level, sound is very much amplified and it’s amazing all the little details the microphones pickup. Voice Detect is another feature the Galaxy Buds Pro pack I find very useful. When activated, the earbuds automatically minimize the sound source when voice is detected (either yours or whomever may be talking to you). The “magic” doesn’t end there: the earbuds will keep your sound minimized and automatically return it after a predetermined time (5, 10 or 15 seconds) has elapsed with no further voice detection. I find this very convenient as it eliminates the need to manually perform this task and helps keep me polite! The tradeoff, in my opinion, with packing so much tech in a very tiny package is the battery life. Samsung rates the earbuds for five to eighteen hours. Again, for the form factor, although impressive it still pales when compared with the Galaxy Buds Live. The charging case (with wireless charging capabilities) also deliver a 1.25 hours of juice with a quick 10 minute charge. The gratifying magnetic snap when the earbuds are returned to the charging case is still present. In summary, the Galaxy Buds Pro went back to the original Galaxy Buds design after the brief stray with the Live. Ambient sound controls have been improved along with addition of better water resistance, Active Noise Cancelling and Voice Detect features. The real marvel is the punch they deliver for the package they come in; this is a winner in my books!

I bought these because my raycons went missing. -The controls need work. They aren't intuitive and require the app to adjust. -The ear pieces are...meh. It would be nice if it came with some different sizes. -Ambient sound and noise cancellation are good. I've only had a few issues that caused feedback to pass through. -Battery life is good. Wireless charging is amazing. I don't think I've managed to run the entire system down before making it to a charger yet -Connectivity between multiple devices is great. I end up using my raycons more than these. They aren't bad they just don't fit and control as well as I would like.

10 Months In and I Still Love Them?

I'd been using Apple Airpods for years, even after moving to a Samsung phone at the Galaxy 7 series. With Airpods, I was lucky if I made it 6 months before needing another pair; at least one ear would inevitably go wonky after a while. (Let's be real, hard to expect otherwise when the audio outport portion is directly affected by earwax and environmental stuff like dust or dirt if dropped, etc.) The main reason I stick with Apple was the treble vs. bass balance, since most other brands over-favor bass, in my opinion, especially given my genre tendencies. But after almost a full year of using the same pair of these Samsung earbuds, I can safely say I'm in love. The sound quality and balance is excellent, the sound cancelling is excellent (especially for the price), and the durability is excellent. Just pop off the cover pieces--which come in multiple sizes, thank goodness, given my evidently small earholes lol--and run a bit of tissue or a toothpick over it to get like-new performance. Hard to deny any pair of earbuds that remains as good 10 months later as they were when I opened them... If I had any complaint, it's that they tend to loosen and threaten falling out when I'm moving my jaw (ie, eating--small earholes are a surprisingly big first-world problem these days, evidently), but otherwise, pretty darn awesome. This is a financially and sonically excellent choice. I'm not saying there aren't better earbuds and headphones out there, but I am saying it's hard to beat these for durability and quality at this price. Strongly recommend.

Good build, compact design for portability. Touch controls can be sensitive when trying to adjust earbuds. Sound is good, decent bass for its size, can EQ sound on app. ANC is okay, will block low rumble, but struggles at higher frequency sounds like voices. Speak to chat worked most of the time and I had very little problems with it. Spatial/360 sound is a gimmick at this point, it does work on certain apps when you move your head, but most apps are not optimized to take advantage of this. Mics are good for calls and does good job of removing background noise. The only downside to these earbuds are fit for me. Tried all the ear tips and they either hurt my ears or constantly want to pop out. A good seal is important for these to work well and I could not achieve it consistently. Using these on a flight, the vibration of the aircraft would break the seal on these. Granted I could buy other ear tips to get a better fit, but I don't want to dump money to fix something that should work out of the box. Overall, these earbuds are feature rich with good sound, they are a good choice if they fit you well.
