I have had this phone for a few days now and I can say without any reservation it's the coolest and most amazing piece of technology I've ever owned and played with. I build my own high end gaming computers and had a s10 5g before this so I'm definitely an enthusiast. Reviewers are over playing how fragile this phone is for drama points. It's a very solid phone with obvious fragility due to the inherent nature of a bendable material. Pros: -the screen is stunning, even compared to my s10 5g. -the battery life is great, playing videos all day. -the hinge is solid and easy to open and close but requires deliberate intent. -the small screen is amazing for one handed and quick use, I use it all the time to text and check things quick. -video and sound quality are amazing. -customization and multi task options are outstanding. -the cameras and flashlight are best if the best. -the wear buds it comes with are phenomenal. -when you take into account this product is a 3 for 1 purchase, phone+tablet+wireless headphones, it's actually not that expensive. -it's literally the most convenient mobile entertainment package you can buy right now -huge storage and very fast hardware. -it WILL NOT effect your credit cards, keys, or scan fobs. I've had the phone next to my credit cards and gym scan fob in the same pocket for days. I also had the Moto Z which had just as strong of magnets. Beware of hotel room keys though, my Moto Z would mess those up. Cons: -this phone is very hard to find -the case it comes with is basically just for looks because it offers zero impact cushion and doesn't protrude past the rear camera bezel.. I had to find 3d stickers to keep the lenses from touching a table surface if you place the phone down. A must. Waiting for an impact case on order. -unproven track record, unknown lifespan and durability over the long term as it's a first gen first of it's kind product. Overall, this is an absolutely incredible first edition of a folding phone and I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation as long as they understand the inherent characteristics of the design which make it not as rugged as a solid state device. This phone and the screen do not seem FRAGILE, but it is not rugged and tough so you have to be conscious of that. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I have had this amazing device for 2 weeks now, and I have to say that it is, hands down, the best cell phone I have ever had. The reason behind this is because it is a tablet as well. While the price may seem high, it is actually a good deal for what your get. I had an S7 and Surface 3 prior to getting this phone and my Fold easily replaces both devices. I purchased a Geyes folding Bluetooth keyboard on Amazon and use the USB adapter to create a computer set up with the Fold. It is fast and very functional. The device feels nice a weighty in my hands, the small screen is great for quick checks and messaging. When closed, it actually feels like a cordless home phone due to it being narrow. It feels much more comfortable in the hand when closed. I use the SwiftKey Keyboard as I find it's predictions and key placement are better than the Samsung stock keyboard. My hands are large enough that a full keyboard feels better on the inside 7.3 screen and the split Samsung keyboard is counter productive for me. The colors are amazing on both screens. One thing I found interesting is that you basically get 2 phones in one with the Fold since the home screen layouts are different on the 4.6 and 7.3 screens allowing me to place widgets, apps, and app groups in different places on both screens to maximize my productivity. You do have to be more conscious when wielding this phone as it is not water proof, dust proof, and definitely has the potential of allowing small elements in. For instance, I do not take the phone out of my pocket when going in the sauna at my gym. I make sure very few people handle it. I educate those who do on the potential weak points and demonstrate how I want them to handle/open and close the screen. I do not apply too much pressure on the big screen. I actually treat it like a normal screen, but know that it is not as strong. The crease doesn't bother me, I can see it, and I actually feel like seeing, feeling, and knowing it is there is good as it reminds me that this screen is and can be fragile and I should handle it with care. It is an amazing talking piece as I am the only one in my County that has one. People are amazed when I open it up. Samsung really hit the nail on the head with this device. I definitely think it will only get better, and bigger. I am very happy with my purchase!!!

At the time of this writing, I've been using this product for about a week and a half now, and it probably is the most practical or useful product I've used. It is not the "best" or "most amazing". It fulfills the needs of having a phone and tablet at the same time, whenever and wherever I need it. I acknowledged the risks before purchase, and I was able to enjoy the features without much worrying. Think of it as a foldable mini iPad with minimalist bezels, that turns into a candybar-esque phone with an iPhone 4S screen when closed. Reading or viewing content on the larger, inner display is a delight. It's still AMOLED, and with Samsung's vivid color mode enabled, it makes you appreciate the form factor / screen even more. Playing games is fun too, and with a folding hinge it's almost like a Nintendo DS in some cases. Speaking of cases, it comes with the Aramid Fiber one in the box, which supposedly does nothing for drops, but will protect against scratches or scuffs. Admittedly, I did drop the phone from waist height unto a hard carpeted surface (ONCE!) but I haven't noticed any damage or issues. Maybe it does help? The 'phone' doesn't have any IP Ratings either, so I have been more cautious, but daily activities don't seem to cause any issues so far. In regards to the crease, I really can't notice it. I mean, yes, I notice it when I am looking at the screen from an unhumanly angle or trying to show someone else the phone. When looking at it in typical indoor lighting, dead-on like a normal human, or even when viewing certain content (even from an angle) the crease suddenly... disappears from sight. It's really weird knowing that the crease is supposed to be there, even when you've seen it so many times in youtube videos, but it just goes away. Hard to explain until you've used the phone yourself. Everyone I've shown or let handle the device so far has said the same thing. Can faintly feel, but when using it and looking at it like you would any other device, the crease becomes less noticeable or goes away from sight. To this date, whipping out the phone in public or office spaces garners much surprise and many hilariously shocked reactions from my obvious, intentional flexing (pun intended). #myphonedoesntbreakwhenfolded

Don't let the negative press of the first batch of these deter you. This phone is nowhere near as fragile as most make it to be. Granted, I have kept mine in a sturdy case since the day I got it. Yet, it has taken numerous falls and abuse from toddlers without breaking or losing any functionality. Something I can not say about iPhone, which seem to break from the smallest of falls even with a case (in my experience). The screen unfolded is massive and gorgeous. Never have videos and images looked so crisp in a mobile format. Can truly rival any normal tablet. I also rather enjoy that the unfolded screen in not made of the typical glass most phone screens are. As it has less glare and is more enjoyable to scroll and type on. The exterior screen is the biggest con of this phone. As it is simply too small for me to accurately type. However, it is perfect for quickly changing songs, looking at notifications, and taking quick snaps without worrying about trying to unfold it in time. The cameras on this phone are incredible. You will not be disappointed in the quality of your phones. And having the speakers on both ends of the phone allow it to have audio separation while watching videos and a big volume boost compared to other phones. Very nice feature rich phone. Also comes with galaxy buds as a nice bonus to make up for the lack of a headphone jack and the high price. Well worth every dollar.

First, I would like to pay my respect to Samsung's engineers. We always take new technology for granted...And we always forget to thank the people who work hard, day and night, to make our lives easier and more productive. So hats off Samsung Engineers. 3 things make me fall in love with this phone: 1- Multitasking: I'm a business owner, and I run a credit card transactions all day. To run a credit card transactions, I need to open a tab for the credit card app, a tab for the calculator, and a tab for chatting with the employees. With the Fold, I've been able to do all that on one page, and in bigger sizes. 2- 7.3 inch display and App Continuity : Most of us use our phones to check Instagram, Facebook, and other social network apps. To be able to see the pictures and videos of our friends and families that big on a phone like the Fold, It's literally the big picture :) 3- Travel light, and a better Netflix companion: I used to drag my heavy laptop or my big tablet every time I have to fly from Detroit to Dallas or vice versa. With the small spaces a planes provide these days, the fold is the perfect companion. Now I can make phone calls, comfortably check my emails, and watch Netflix movies on a bigger screen, in a light weight, and in an impressive portability. All that in one device that I can carry in my pocket...and without the need to bring more heavy weight devices on the plane. Bottom line, this phone is futuristic, innovative, and practical. I was little bit frustrated to wait for this phone for almost 6 months after I originally pre ordered it from Samsung on 4/14/2019. However, it was worth the wait. Thanks Samsung, and thanks Samsung Engineers.

This is the best phone you can get.. i risky recommend this.. The screen is bigger .. the camera is perfect

This is great phone. I've been working for cell phone industry for 8 years and this is the best phone. 12GB ram gives fast web speed 512GB internal memory is enough for the download movies, pictures, musics, and etc. The camera features are great especially when open the folder. I'm the district manager at wireless and I do lot of multi tasking and this is the device that I've been eager to have. The problem with this phone are little bit heavy and front screen is too small so it's hard to type especially people who have thick fingers they should keep opening the fold to type. The most problem is too expensive. I'm not sure if it's worth it to buy it spend almost $2000 however if Samsung lower the price little bit I think it'll be more popular.

I've had my Fold for about 3 months. There was a slight learning at the beginning (even though I have always had Samsung phones). I consider it a tablet first then a first. The user experience is simply amazing. Phone has 3 cons: not at all waterproof, limited cases (there are only 4 available), and really pricey. But the screen, the folding experience, the cool factor (everyone that holds my phone, loves it lol), excellent battery life. Overall, an outstanding phone....wouldn't give mine up for anything.

The Galaxy Fold is great. Yes, it is only a Gen 1.5 but very well executed. A joy to use. No you cant get it wet and no, don't put it in a pocket full of sand from the beach. Yes you will notice the crease down the center quite often but you will also notice a wonderfully huge screen. While it is interesting to read the "expert" reviews, they don't always get it right or prioritize what I consider the most important features to me. (If I read one more reviewer writing about ANY phone and whining about how it shows fingerprints, they need to know that many of use...like me...simply don't care and I don't consider something that silly to be one of my top 10..or 100 issues.) Fortunately none have droned on about fingerprints regarding this phone as this phone is just too revolutionary and useful! Sure it is pricey but look at the cost of a Samsung Note 10+ and compare that to this phone (and the Fold includes a case and the wireless Galaxy earbuds---not as good as the JBL ones I was using previously, but still a nice inclusion and relatively instant pairing with zero drama). My only complaint is about the Samsung version of Android; I never realized how good, simple and clean, by comparison, LG's version was until coming back to Samsung after a 5 year hiatus. C'mon Samsung, please step up your software game. Very happy with my purchase and you will be too. PS Best Buy: If I order a phone & don't receive it for a week, the warranty should start on my date receiving the product, not my order date.

I received my phone today purchased through best buy I paid for the unlocked version so I would not be stuck with a carrier if I wanted to switch, I have played with it all day and let me tell you the 2 flaws that I have noticed within my usage today, the case that came with the phone the lower part when you open the phone does stay on there firmly, and when touching the screen to do something it has gotten stuck a few times, I am monitoring that just in case its a defect and needs to be replaced. Now to the GREAT the phone itself the size, the slimness and the weight, compared to my note 9 is so much lighter, the speed is quick within multi tasking its really just another samsung phone so the functions are about the same but for me this one was about the size and I can now go back to a mini purse and not have to accomodate a half a mini computer cell phone of course I got the purple and it looks great so good job on this one especially to be able to return to a flip I do really like the small notification window when the phone is closed you can put calls on hold and swipe to answer the other and see text messages it is a small window but the fonts are very clear and lit up

the phone is very nice over all. but on the software side it is not very good. if u were to book a flight from hawaiiain air line, expedia, and ect… the phone can not do it because the software is not compatible... there will be many site that this phone can not be use yet....eventually these company or Samsung will update the software to work with the phone. as for surfing its not a proplem. battery life is not all day if u are to use for work with it open as tablet. phone function only would be all day no problem. I review this phone as for its technical, but not on software website side. if software web functionality I would give it 1 star.

If you are still on the fence about getting this phone by the rough start that Samsung had on roll out day "Do NOT hesitate" you won't be sorry! I was on a 7 month rollercoaster about getting this phone with extreme highs and lows (I even fought with the managers at Best Buy for not having enough inventory) I almost cancelled my order out of frustration on the delay and because of the past reviews and of course the price factor but I got mine today (finally) and though I've bought too many phones over the years since the very first Pocket PC days. I have to say this is absolute PERFECTION. The small screen on the outside is ONLY for phone purposes the party begins when you fold it open! =) When you are on a call and have it folded to the smaller screen it feels like Heaven! Your hand will thank you and when you want to go big and have fun just flip it open, total perfection! Thank you Samsung!!! My apologies to the managers at Best Buy for low inventory Samsung needs to start the roll out NOW!

Yes it's a little under $2000, but it's the only phone in the American market that is truly cutting edge. I won't repeat the accolades found on these pages. Ignore what the nay saying majority of online reviewer's have to say. Jealousy maybe? This is a great phone. Yes you need to treat it as a fine tuned instrument, but almost anything that costs $2000 and you can carry with one hand should be treated with care. If you can afford it, Go for it! No regrets.

The professional critics really paint the picture that this device misses the mark. That's simply not the case. This device really provides a new direction for the industry as a whole. Samsung is truly a pioneer, the fit, finish, materials speak to the quality. Surely the screen is delicate and the price is a bit tough to swallow. But... consider your getting a phone, tablet, wireless headphones and a phone case. It really isnt unreasonable. The size folded is small about 2.5 inches wide. The front screen is useable for small task or where you just need a quick look or aimless scrolling on Facebook. But breakout the primary screen and you have an ipad mini size screen ready to deliver an engaging experience. I can tell Samsung really put invested in this tech and believes in its role. If you're debating if you should buy now or wait till gen 2. I would say go for it you wont regret it. The 3rd or 4th gen will be where the innovation is at. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold is a very good phone. The inside screen is bright and vibrate. The outer screen is a bit small but good for quick things. You will find yourself unfolding the phone for extended usage. The sound is full with ok bass but not as loud as some other Samsung phones like the S10+. The One UI from Samsung is made especially for the unique properties of the phone and work very well. Only negatives are not all apps work perfectly for the Fold when switching between screens. The biggest negative is the phone is fragile. If you are not careful or you are use to being careless with your phone this is not the one for you. Also not a lot of case options and the one the phone comes with is nice but not the most protective.

For my use case this is fantastic. I am a computer science professor, but also a part time photographer and writer. To have a foldable tablet in my pocket to show off work is fantastic. I've always preferred a 7" table to a 10", but there are no high end 7" tablets for android. Yes it's fragile, but i grew up with fragile computers, it just means being more responsible. I also bought the extra insurance just in case. The size and flexibility is outstanding. In the field i can hook up a USB hub and backup my camera to another hard drive. The apple Walled Garden wouldn't work would it?? ;) There are some drawbacks, the screen is not a saturated as the color on the note 10. Not all apps flip between screens well. The front screen is too small, but you are buying this to use it primarily as a tablet, not as a phone. For basic operations the front screen is fine and i prefer the narrow grip of the phone. It feels more natural in hand. Galaxy buds are a nice addition, but they really don't have great connectivity. It's my second pair as i had them for my Note 9 so I know it's not a defective device. All that said, I love my Fold! As i say, living the fold is far more flexible than the walled garden.

Great first foldable phone by Samsung. The screen, when unfolded, is something to experience for the sheer size of the screen and for multitasking that you can do with 2-3 apps at once. It’s not perfect but it’s still a great quality phone as a first foldable one.

i wanted this phone for a really long time. I was just lucky to get the silver unlocked at my local Best Buy a couple weeks ago. The whole buying experience was on point from the get go. Best Buy has affordable financing which is a great plus with their credit card if you qualify. The phone itself is amazing in every way. I personally love the smaller outside screen. The colors and brightness on both displays are superb. Being able to multi task on the larger tablet screen is a wonderful thing. I have owned many phones through the years and this phone is far superior to anything on the market and the only other thing is I wish I had not waited so long to purchase. Thank you Samsung for such innovative technology and such an amazing product .
