Stay with My Note 9 or Get the N20U

I was on the fence about this purchase. I'm one that reads reviews and looks for pros and cons based on detailed and concise reviews. That being said, I'm also a phone guy and I typically replace devices shortly after 12 months. Surprisingly, I held onto my Note 9 for almost 2 years; mainly because it has been a solid device. Rising cost, along with incremental improvements up to this point did not warrant a move to the NOTE 10+ (not to mention the 512gb version is no longer available). After a full week of using the NOTE 20 Ultra , I can tell you that I'm pleased with the move! The battery life is solid! I've gotten a full day of the N20U with slightly higher than moderate use (7:30 am to 11pm and 25-30% of battery life remaining at bedtime). I'm still mixed on the camera, as some images do not look as natural compared to the shooter of my Note 9. I very much like the wide angle lens and how much more detail is captured in pictures. The other thing that I really debated was the size of the camera bump and its location. I almost returned the phone on that alone. However, I was able to find a case to mitigate the feeling/bulge and it's no longer an issue! I really hope Samsung can find another way to implement the cameras without the obtrusive bump and awkward location. The placement of the S-Pen takes some getting use to and will mess with your muscle memory for a couple of days. I definitely miss the LED indicator on the N20U but was able to find a fairly decent substitute (LED Me Know! spend the $2.00, its worth it if you want the constant LED notification vs brief edge lighting) after some searching and YouTube reviews. The N20U definitely feels better and lighter in hand despite being slightly bigger than my Note 9. If you're on a Note 9 and don't HAVE to change or you're not a "phone" person; the Note 9 is still a strong device almost 2.5 years later. The reason(s) I decided to upgrade are as follows: -No future OS updates, other than security patches, for Note 9 . -My battery was starting to age -3 yrs of Android OS updates on N20U -I needed to secure a 512gb version of the N20U since it is currently rumored that the note series may be phased out -$15/monthly discount on installment plan -Last, I'm a phone guy! I wanted a new device LOL. I hope this review helps! I'm sure I missed some things, but the point of my review is to express ZERO buyers remorse....despite what some N20U reviews might say! Also, I included comparison pics from the Note 9 vs the N20U and a capture of my battery life from this morning! 8:17am (Review written at 2:55pm).

Waited for ATT 5G to upgrade. Super phone. Lots to learn. Improved in every way. More longer battery life, memory, bigger, pen, camera .. do your own comparison. Certainly needs New Cables. Thunderbolt and USB-C ARE NOT SAME OR COMPATIBLE. Look at the connector. Similar size, but Thunderbolt has connectors above and below. Folks at Best Buy and other electronic shops were confused. Definitely need case, because phone is slippery. Added screen protector. Best Buy did decent job transferring. Still need to fire up apps to register accounts .. Held on to my Samsung S6 Active, because still works. Now need to turn in for what they will pay me.

iPhone users looking to switch!!!! Best android!

iPhone user here and I’m here to write another review for this phone for any iPhone users who been wanting to switch but just can’t and are afraid. Don’t be afraid of switching. I go back and forth with android and iPhone twice a year. This is the only android phone I had I regret returning. I regret it so much I returned my iPhone 12 Pro max and got the note again but a 512gb. The switch is definitely hard but I love the phone. When switching over and using smart switch on the note it will transfer EVERYTHING! Text, text media, notes and it will try to mimic your iPhone. Which saves a lot of time! You will have to switch a couple apps around like Samsung internet, I prefer google as a search engine. I still have my iPad so I still have quite bit of my stuff. When I upgraded my iPhone 11 Pro Max to the Note 20 Ultra I was afraid. I was so afraid I returned the Note 20 Ultra to get the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Let me tell you I instantly regret it when I got home. It felt like I didn’t even upgrade. So hear I am now waiting on my Note 20 ultra in the mail. I had to return the iPhone. I felt like I was spending $1300 for the exact same iPhone I had. The note 20 feels so much faster and snappy than the iPhone also. Even though the iPhone 12 has a faster “cpu” it definitely feels slower. It’s no where as snappy. Bottom line! Don’t be afraid to switch. Trust me it was hard! I may go back later but as of now I’m happy. I’ve had every iPhone since the iPhone 3GS. Don’t be afraid.

I have always owned Note phones starting with the note 2. They continue to amaze me. I use the stylus quite a bit with note taking and absolutely need it for what I do. Love the picture quality and many ask me to take the group photos since it is so nice.

I have owned note series since Note4. I was initially skeptical to upgrade from my note10plus but it is worth it . The 120hz refresh rate combined with good lock app settings make browsing ,scrolling and watching youtube videos feel so smooth to the touch. Yes the spen has improvements but for me i am not a big spen user but if you are you will enjoy it even more. Camera is fantastic, while walking around my neighbourhood, took a shot of the moon with 50 x zoom, other note phones does not come close to this quality! Galaxy z fold 2 has better reading and youtube experience but does not have spen and the fold2 is not waterproof and the ultra thin glass is still not sturdy enough. So for now, note 20 ultra is a better value with the sd card slot support till z fold series matures (in probably another 2 iterations). Dont forget to protect it with samsung hard case so you can trade in the mint condition phone for the next iteration !

This phone is amazing! It has so many features i can't get through them all. I love the stylus when I take selfies. The only thing I don't like is it not having the iris recognition and the fingerprint sensor is on the screen.

The phone is a very good phone with a camera that's probably the best in the business of all smartphones but if you have a note 9 no 10 or even s9 S10 therr is no reason to get this phone.

This phone is fantastic. Super fast and the screen display is amazing. I play Injustice 2 on it and have had zero issues while playing it. Battery lasts me all day with pretty heavy use (may vary depending on how you use it). After showing my brother my phone, he was so impressed that it convinced him to get one for himself (he's been primarily an IOS user until then). A bit pricey but overall has been more than been worth it for me.

I haven't had my phone very long but so far I'm impressed. I love the super fast charger but it came with a very short type c to type c charging cord. I recommend purchasing a longer cord. The phone also didn't come with earphones. So you my want to buy an adapter or a pair of new compatible earphones.
