TL;DR: 1. SETUP: It was very easy. Use the Samsung Health and Galaxy Ring Apps. The App takes care of everything for you 2. USE: It works well for it’s intended use 3. USABILITY: It’s simple and automatically connects with your phone 4. OVERALL: I like it, it’s minimalistic, but for my needs, an activity watch is better for me I have used fitness trackers for 15+ years. I have been looking at the two main competitors and was excited to try the Samsung Galaxy Ring. The presentation of the “ring fit kit” was excellent. The case the ring utilizes to initially pair and charge the Ring is extremely high-quality. The ring itself is very lightweight, very durable, and has a great look to it. I like the outer portion is concave throughout the entire circumference of the ring. The overall package is excellent. I am currently using a competitor’s watch and have been for sometime. I wanted to see how it would compare to the ring. To use the ring, you need to use the app to start your fitness sessions. For some things, it recommends using the Galaxy Watch. This was something I did not expect. Also, I don’t always carry my phone with me. It missed several of my activities, unless I initiated that session on my phone prior to the activity I chose. I was impressed with the physical health trackers it offered. I don’t know how accurate it always was specifically for my stress levels. The competitor watch I wear does not offer that, so it was highly interesting for me to see. I know it sometimes when it said I was highly stressed, I definitely was not, but at other times I definitely was. You kind of have to take it with a grain of salt, but it did give me a good insight into how I’m feeling. The sleep tracker worked great. In comparison to the competitor’s watch, the watch tracks more of what I want. I’m going to need to get a Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, as that may be the perfect tracker I’m looking for specifically for my needs. I will continue wearing the ring, as it is a discrete package that offers a ton of insight into my day-to-day activities. Lastly, the battery life was excellent. I’ve been wearing it for over two weeks and really only did it needed to charge it once after the initial charge. I’m still used to other devices. I charge more often, so I was charging it about once every three days with somewhere between 40 and 70% battery charge left. I have included some pictures of the tracker as it was tracking me. It was not distracting, and I enjoyed seeing the green, red or both lights on. Sometimes I’ll notice that on my watch, but it was more noticeable on the ring.

1st and foremost, I would like to say to some people that the ring is NOT a watch replacement but more of a companion to it. They work together in an ecosystem to better your daily life with tracking and suggestions on how to improve. While I do like my ring, some tracking features are excellent while some leave much to be desired. Getting the perfect ring for you is a process. It is HIGHLY recommended you use their sizing kit to find the best match for your finger instead of the industry standard of ring sizing. This is because the tracking sensors will make it a little tighter on the finger if you do not size properly. I wore a mock size 10 and 11 on 2 hands before settling on 10 and it was perfect. The box itself is nice and simplistic. Inside is the beautiful clear case/charger (wireless compatible), Galaxy Ring itself, a USB C cable and some literature. Setup was a breeze since I am already part of the Samsung/Galaxy ecosystem. Samsung Wearable app found the ring and paired it instantly. Along side the app is another that is for your tracking and wellness called Health. While wearing the ring, I used the app to enter my vitals as in weight and height. The app did the rest as in heartrate, stress lvls etc. Now it is important to note that you should give the ring at least a week before thinking all your numbers are crazy high or low so that it gets to know you and your routine better. I love the sleep and water tracking the most. Stress tracking I just cannot understand for the life of me. It is always saying I have HIGH stress when I know I don't. For example I could be laying on the couch super comfy, AC running while watching a great movie and the entire time my ring says my stress lvls are HIGH and I should try breathing techniques....what?? Also look at the pics as when I manually test for stress, I am green and low, but the tracker will record and log that I am highly stressed. Samsung needs to fix this ASAP. Other than that, my numbers started to settle for sleep (I am slightly low because I have a habit of sleeping at 2am and waking up at 7am), heartrate and blood oxygen are good. My energy score is showing areas for improvement and recommends what I should do to improve. Battery life is excellent. Lasts about a full week before needing to charge. Once in the charger, 30 mins provided more than half the juice to 100 and fully charged takes about 50 minutes. Another thing to consider is price to performance ratio. I know the ring market is fairly new and in it's infancy but since the Ring only tracks via app and does not give any other benefits like NFC or any type of display, it's hard to justify a $400 price tag with what you are getting. Sure quality is amazing. The Galaxy Ring itself is solidly built and feels premium. Lightweight yet strong enough to withstand the elements. Never had an issue with daily showers, hand washings, sweating and normal everyday behavior effecting it at all. As Samsung's first attempt in the ring market, there were a lot of things done right and wrong. I hope in the future more QoL benefits are put into the rings as I do like mine a lot.

The ring is just ok. Nothing really special about it especially for the $400 price. It should have been $299

I had 2 generations of Oura ring over 3 years till I lost it. Decided to give a chance to Samsung to avoid subscription. A day after BestBuy return window, the ring is dead, not charging anymore. Contacted samsung for a warranty "support". They asked me if i plugged charger to the wall, if I put ring on charger, if I have power at home, and much more dementia troubleshooting steps, and finally they offered me to mail in my ring for 2 weeks period so technician will repair unrepairable sealed one time use device. This is not reliable product that cost $399. Almost positive that same Temu ring for $39.99 will outperform this garbage.

I am getting happy with it rings gym walk through it

I thought this was the future innovation. I mean think about it, a ring you just keep on and you can keep track of your health but you have to charge every few days? Wrong. I've had the ring a little over six months and it cannot retain any charge. I would charge it and go to sleep and wake up to find it dead.

Great product. Tracks well and seems to be scratch resistant. I got the silver one, i work with shingles everyday and still havent scratched it. 100% recommend this product.

The ring came in a nice small box just like the sizing kit. Inside was the charging case, the ring inside, and the charging cord along with a quick start guide. First thing to do was to charge the case/ring so I found a 30W wall charger that I had and attached the charging cord and let the case/ring sit for a while. While the ring was charging, I paired the ring with my Samsung phone via Bluetooth. I went to the play store and downloaded the Galaxy Wearable app. This app allows you to see the amount of charge on the ring, update software, reset the ring, name your ring, find my ring if it is lost and tips and user guide. You can also tap on the health settings and you can specify what you want tracked, the units, the targets, etc. The icons on the top, Energy Score, Sleep, and Heart Rate will all take you to Samsung Health app, where you can see all your data. On the Samsung Health app, you can see your energy score, the steps, minutes of activity, and calories burned. Scrolling down, you can see your workouts, if you activated the workout detection setting, and the sleep score which provides sleep coaching. Then scrolling further down the page, you can see your weight, if you entered one, your heart rate, stress, blood oxygen, and then the last 2 stats are whatever you choose to see. Each stat can be opened further for a deeper dive into what goes into an energy score such as sleep time and consistency, sleeping HR and HR variability. I enjoy the sleep score which measures 5 factors and shows your sleep stages, blood oxygen levels during sleep, skin temperature during sleep, respiratory rate, and can record snoring if you activate it. I am not an athlete or overly active, only walking the dog, doing yard work and gardening, but I like to keep track on how I am doing against my targets to keep my body weight in check and stay active as I age. For this purpose, I think it is great and gets the job done! Knowledge is power to change! I would have liked the Galaxy ring to use only one app to do everything, but I guess having the wearable app allows for multiple devices in the future. Imagine an earring that can answer your phone for you! I found the Galaxy ring is much better for sleeping than those bulky watches. I have a watch from a different brand that I have been using for the last 13 years, and now charge the watch overnight and only wear the Galaxy Ring to bed. I find that the Galaxy Ring, while not the most attractive in Titanium Black, my preference is gold, is quite comfortable. I can also wash dishes, clean my hands during cooking, and every other thing you do in water with ease. I like that aspect. I have been wearing it for 14 days now and am pleased to say that the black titanium looks as good as the day it came out of the box. No scuffs, no wear marks, etc. I hope it stays that way since I see a lot of rings where the base metal is coming through the finish. I think this ring is the most minimalistic and sleek one I have seen out there. It does not feel overly bulky, but is bigger than most jewelry rings. I have not gone on vacation with the ring as of yet, but can imagine that the clear charging case would be perfect to charge the ring while away from home. I am not sure how many charges it provides, but am sure it would be enough for me. I put the ring in the charging case once a day while I am in the shower and 20 minutes later, it is at 100% charge. I love it! I have not had a low battery warning at all! The Galaxy Ring is a winner in my book and am so glad I did not get a different one that you have to pay for a monthly subscription or anything. This one has no further cost after your purchase!

Do not waste your time or money on this ring. This ring worked for me for one month before it completely died. I had to send it out to Samsung for repair, and they would not cover the repair with the warranty because they claim I damaged the ring. In the one month, I mostly wore the ring to sleep, and while I was at work. I have an office job. I would remove the ring when baking or gardening. There is absolutely nothing that I did outside of normal wear, that should have damaged this ring. I asked the service center how often they've seen this issue, and the told me they do not track these metrics. If they did, I am sure they would see how these rings are not made to last. I have been a lifelong Samsung product fan, but my faith in the quality of their products seems to be waning based on the issues with this pricey ring, and the newest galaxy watch.

Overall a good product for tracking steps and sleep. After buying first few months the battery lasted 4 to 5 days. However after one year now it is almost unusable. Needs charging everyday and drains fast.

I love that I can still wear my classic watches while having a smart ring collect my health data. The ring was a great idea!

The ring's color began to fade after three weeks of use, concerning me about its long-term appearance. Additionally, the battery life looks like short of the advertised seven days, particularly for individuals who engage in physical activity or frequent movement.

I was excited to get the opportunity to try this ring. I habe always had Galaxy phones, tablets and watches. I like the android platform and I like how the devices work together without a lot of prompting from me. The ring comes in a really nice case. It is clear crystalline plastic with a mount inside to hold the ring. This case is also the charger for the ring. It uses a USB C cord. I charged my ring in the case fully. I have been wearing it for 6 days now and still have 20% battery. I'm not sure but I think that the case holds a charge and will charge the ring when you set it on it without having to plug it in. You can get it wet, wash dishes, wash your hands, etc. It has a find my ring feature that lights up the LEDs. Right now, the only features available to me are sleep tracking, O2 monitoring, steps, heart rate and an activity tracker. There is also a feature that attempts to track your menstrual cycle based on measuring your skin temperature when you sleep. The step count between the ring and my Galaxy Watch seems pretty similar. The activity tracker on my ring doesn't seem to have picked up my activity. It shows I've been pretty slothful this week. In reality, we've helped our son and daughter in law move, I've chased my 1 year old granddaughter, mowed the lawn and trimmed a tree. I've also done regular households chores and gone to work as a paramedic caring for a patient in their home. I have seen reviewers talk about using gestures and "pinches" to control their phone and the cameras on their phones. I could not figure out how they were doing this as I didn't see anything about this feature. There were no instructions with ths ring beyond "this is your case/charger and this is the cord" sort of thing. The instructions on app are not available/functional at this time. So I resorted to Google. From the Samsung info, your phone needs to be running at least Android 11, which mine is. But from what I could determine you have to be running Galaxy UI 6.1.1 or higher. I'm only running 6.1. So I guess I have to wait for an update. The ring has a sizing kit that is available that I recommend. The kit is filled with dummy versions of the ring in various sizes. It gives you the opportunity to try on what your ring will be like and make sure you get the right size. You could just order by your ring size, if you know it but you might want to go the route of the sizing kit so you can make a choice based on the feel of the actual ring. The ring has a concave design so it doesn't feel like a regular ring to me. I chose to wear mine on my ring finger. I see people wear them on their index finger. In retrospect, I think that would have been a better choice. The ring has a line on it which is supposed to stay on the base/at the palm side of your hand. On my ring finger, the ring twists a lot due to the movement of my hand. Also, because of the concave shape, the top edges protrude. I'm a smaller woman but I chose a size 8 ring. I couldn't have go e smaller in the whole sizes offered. I find that the ring seems uncomfortable because it digs into my fingers when I grasp something. Holding the dog leads when they pulled slightly made me feel like my fingers were going to be injured. So I think my index finger would have been a better choice. All in all, I think the ring has great potential. I don't think it's quite there yet. It needs better directions and easier to access information. I think the cost of the sizing kit should credited back to you when you purchase the ring. I'll give it 4 stars because 3.5 isn't an option and like I said, the potential is there.
