Great Phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start this review by saying that I am not a Samsung person. I have never liked Samsung phones, finding their software annoying and full of bloat. I had Nexus devices for years and was very happy with them. This phone, however, has blown me away. The build quality is excellent. I really hate the advertising for the screen ("Infinity Display"? Get over yourselves) but using it, holding it and interacting with it feel like I'm in the future. The colors are excellent, and the Always On Display is one of my favorite features. Other features I'm quite happy with is the ability to swap the Back and Multitasking buttons on screen to put them back in the right places that every other Android phone has them in. On to performance, the phone is blazing fast, and I've yet to notice a hiccup in speed. I game quite a bit, with the resolution at its highest, and it looks and feels great. I've heard some negatives about the camera from others online, but it works well enough for me. I'm not really an avid photographer, but it takes fast shots that look good, so I can't complain. Battery life is good, too. I use it heavily and still have a good 4 hours left once I get home. Now, no phone is perfect. There's some Samsung bloat that you can't seem to get rid of or disable. Why do I need "Internet" when Chrome is pre-installed? If I'm never going to use VR why can't I turn off the service? If I don't own the cover case, why can't I disable the service that displays through it? I don't really like TouchWiz, but it was easily replaced with Pixel Launcher (from and apk online). On to Bixby: it's useless. Google Assistant exists, is already installed, and is way better. Remapping the Bixby button is easy enough, with the help of an app. Speaking of the Bixby, there's a Bixby Vision pop-up every time I open the camera. No, Samsung, I do not want to give you the insane amount of permissions that you request or send every picture I take to you to be analyzed. Though, by far the biggest negative is the speaker. The one on the bottom of the phone I mean. It's loud enough, sure, as long as you don't cover it at all. Then it goes away completely. Playing games in portrait mode is always a task, trying to hold my phone just right (I often support my phone with my thumb on the bottom). There is no stereo with the ear speaker either. All in all, it's a great phone. I would suggest it to anyone. This Nexus guy has just gone Samsung.

Samsung S8 plus unlocked
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this on Sprint, it is the unlocked version. I had to go to Sprint to get the right sim card as best buy didn't give me the right one. The phone just amazing. I went from moto x pure to s8+. The battery life is amazing I run Bluetooth, nfc and location all day. Listen to music and constantly on clash royal. The battery is still in the high 30 low 40 by 10 pm. That's crazy. I love it. I 've gotten use to the finger scanner. It's not as bad as what you see on you tube. I use all of the time. The camera is the best I've ever used. I love everything about this phone with the exception of Samsung keyboard swipe function. It is terrible as I will change this really soon. With the 835 chip, it will accept the new 5g when the networks come out with as theLG phones will not. I'll try to do a follow up in a month. No regrets with this purchase. Any question comment and I'll get back too you

Nice Phone for me = Unhappy Cell Provider
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the unlocked Samsung Galaxy S8+ after reading the reviews from other users. The phone is great! The problems I have had (and still dealing with) are not due to the phone itself. I am a 20+ year Verizon customer and feel that by purchasing this unlocked phone, Verizon doesn't care to try and help me with my issues. I was asked by a Verizon employee WHY I purchased an unlocked phone instead of a Verizon Branded one. PRICE, that's why...and no, they wouldn't honor the great deal I got at Best Buy for me to get a Verizon Branded phone. While I don't have the 'bloatware' that I would have had with a specific carrier, I also don't get the same services that I did when I had a specific branded phone, even though I have the same carrier. Currently looking into other cell phone providers in hopes that another company will not give bad customer service just because I wanted to save money. The phone is definitely a good investment, the battery life is great, and one day I hope to be able to use all the features that it has.

Great phone, Best aesthetics!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I always enjoyed mobile phones from Samsung. From Wave, Note and Galaxy series, this one definitely tops them all at the moment. S8+ is definitely an improvement from the previous S7 Edge. Battery life is good too. I left for office in the morning at 100% and still got 40% during my commute after work. I didn't like Bixy buttton though. If I could remap it for other purpose, it would be great. Camera is great, as always. Colors are vivid and the f1.7 apperture captures more light and performs great in low-light conditions. The glass body, protected with Gorilla glass 5 is great to hold, but it is a fingerprint magnet. Overall build quality is great. But I don't think the extra money you add for a price of similar flagship phone from other brands is justified. But if you're looking for something for eye candy phone and still delivers great user experience, this one will definitely be on your top list.

Beautiful phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The screen is beautiful, and the phone is very fast. The camera takes amazing photos out of the box, it also let's you do a manual mode for the DSLR style shots. That's all the good, now for the bad. The fingerprint scanner is in the worst spot ever! If they would have placed it center on the back like the Google branded phones then this phone would be the best work out there. Bixby button is a waste of space, makes no sense and is annoying. Even with the two glaring issues this phone is amazing.

Worth the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 17 year old son is the proud new owner of the Samsung Galaxy S8+ phone and it seems like every day, he is marveling at the new capabilities of the phone. The camera is top-notch, the battery is great (so far!) and this is a powerful, beautiful phone.

Best phone I ever owned
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Samsung has gone a long way. It is impossible to predict what will the next big thing will be 5 years down the line, but all I know is that this phone has checked all the boxes in my book. The processing speed, the camera, the screen, the battery life and the design language are all perfect. I am very happy to have purchased this phone after the release of the note 8 because it dropped the price of the s8 plus to a cost that is well below it's worth. That lower price tag made this phone perfect for what it is

Great Phone, except for...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Galaxy S8 in the limited time I had to try was for all intents and purposes a really really nice phone. The build quality was excellent and among the ranks of Apple devices. The camera was excellent and that display...it was marvelous. The software on the other hand was not quite there. I am a fan of stock Android and totally against manufacturers who insist on applying skins that really end up muddying the experience. Samsung's skin tends to just overcomplicate things and often include software that conflicts with already present and usually superior Android software. Overall it is a great phone with lots of great features and a fantastic camera. Honestly, it is a great combination hardware and software that produce an enjoyable experience for the end user.

Great unlocked phone for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time buying a fully unlocked phone. The price was much lower than expected for an unsubsidized flagship phone. Activation would have been simpler had the carrier (Sprint) not had an arcane back-end. The provisioning software on the phone would have worked had I known how the carrier network would have treated it. coming from the S7 Edge, this device feels nicer in the hand, and the camera is slightly better than before. going to Type C as a charging cable should future proof me to whatever comes next.

Awesome device.

Bought the unlocked version so there is none of that nonsense that the carriers preinstall as far as apps go. Device is fast and camera is great. Favorite Samsung phone so far!

Great phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is fast and reliable. Easy to use. The new Bixby is different. Similar to Siri. Battery lasts all day long. My G 5 I had to charge 2 to 3 times a day. All in all I'm happy with this purchase.

8 Plus is worth the extra money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although I was initially skeptical about purchasing the S8 Plus over the S8, I believe it was a good decision. The extra $100 only buys you a slightly larger phone and a larger battery. I wasn't sure if these two features would be worth the extra cost. However, the larger battery has been excellent. I have went 2.5 days without needing to charge my phone. As a college student, I use my phone a moderate amount of time. I've been told that the larger display requires the larger battery, so the added benefits of the battery are negated. I can't say for sure if that is the case. Either way, I am very satisfied with my product.

Samsung S8+
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is still early, but early reviews are proving to be stellar. The unlocked version does not present with all of the bloatware that the companies install. Thus far it is very responsive add battery life lasts Moyer than 24 hours without a charge, depending on usage and days streaming. Lover the slightly bigger screen but still need readers. Sleek avid smooth. Bixby uggs clumsy, but the word is it gets better with learning. The unlocked version would not recognize my old simm card so a new one was needed. Apparently, this is not normal. Camera is great. Best Buy service was great this time and they were patient and helpful, which is not always the case.

One of the best phones on the market
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Galaxy S8+ to replace my aging Android phone. After doing some research, I felt that this was the best choice. Naturally, there are a lot of options for cell phones from Apple, Motorola, LG and so on. I have to admit, I've always stayed away from Samsung because of the "home button" and the other keys (which are swapped in position on other phones). When they converted to a on screen buttons, I took another look at Samsung, and I have to admit, I don't know why I haven't chosen Samsung before. Just like other top-tier phones, Samsung build quality is excellent. It doesn't feel "cheap". There's enough "weight" on the phone to give it a premium feel. The curved glass accenting a curved back makes the phone feel reminiscent of a polished pebble. However, because of the curved nature, weight, and slickness of the design, I highly recommend a case. This phone is slippery. You can't help thinking this will slide from your hands onto the ground at just the right moment. Other reviews have complained that the fingerprint sensor is just in the wrong spot. Sometimes I feel like I agree, other times I don't. You most always will pass your finger over the camera to get to the fingerprint reader if your right handed. There's just no way around it. If your an avid camera user, you should wipe the camera before using it, because you most likely smudge it at one point if you use the fingerprint reader. You'll also mistake the camera for the fingerprint reader because there aren't any markings or indentations so you can feel the different between the two. This is where the case comes in. When you have a case, the camera area cut out will help you find the reader. You'll probably still smudge the camera along the way, but it does make things easier. I haven't tried a lot of cases, but based on the case I do have, I would believe this to be true will almost all of cases on the market. The phone shape is different than others. It's "tall and skinny" compared to other phones. I thought this would bother me, but I found that it wasn't as bad as I thought. It reminds me of when Apple took the iPhone 4 and "stretched" it making the iPhone 5. It's "long", but doesn't feel like a ruler. You could almost say it's just right. Viewing videos horizontally has black bars on both sides, but there's an option to stretch the video so it fits (although it cuts off the top and bottom a little). I'm fine watching the videos with the black borders. The borders feel like I have a little space for my fingers to hold the phone properly without blocking the video that i'm watching. Performance is snappy. It's been a while since my phone ran this fast or smooth. Apps launch almost instantly. Calls seem clearer than my old phone, although I would attribute this more to my carrier than on my old phone. Long story short, I can't complain. I could of went with another phone, like the new iPhone. But at about $100 less, and more flexibility with Android, this phone seemed like the perfect choice.

Amazing phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the best phones out in the market right now. The only downside for me is the ridiculous bixby button that has no use for me. That button is just in the way. The camera is great! Super fast phone. Graphics is impeccable. You get a real bang for your buck with this one.
