Bought this for my wife and she loves it. She primarily uses it for emails, social media and reading as well as the occasional app. It was easy to set up an get started. If you get the 8G I recommend getting an SD card if you have a lot of books or music.

Love almost everything about this tablet. It has a great bright screen, easy to user (real) home and menu buttons, many app options and available settings to customize. Wish the speakers were louder and wish it had a radio tuner but still very satisfied with sound quality of music. Very good product for the price point. Samsung seems to be the best quality tablet on the market.

I purchased this tablet as a replacement for my Nexus 7 (2013). This tablet is a definite step down in both build quality and function. The screen resolution is nice enough, but it lags sometimes when flipping screens or running some graphic-heavy apps. The tablet comes pre-loaded with so much proprietary Samsung software (that can't be removed by the user) that it chews up over half of the tablet's already meager 8 GB storage space. Initially, I wasn't too concerned about it as the tablet supports microSD cards. However, the memory management is so poor, it's impossible to move any app you want (and their associated data) to the card. It seems as if the engineers at Samsung may have designed the removable storage for music or video files, but not as an actual extension of the internal storage space. Overall, it's a serviceable tablet for the money as long as your expectations for user-configurability are kept low.
