I've had this tablet about one month and have no negative comments. I like the quality look, feel and performance of Samsung devices. I wanted a replacement for my old iPad but couldn't afford the cost of a new top-of-the-line tablet. This model was perfect for me. I thought the bulit-in memory was a little small so I bought a memory card. But otherwise this tablet is great. One feature I really appreciate is the automatic screen brightness. The tablet dims for reading in the dark and brightens for daylight use.

I had purchased an Insignia from Best Buy before this Samsung and the difference between the two is huge. Better camera and faster.

Bought this for my husband and he loves it. The speed is great and the picture quality is good for playing his games.

For those who love android this is a great table for anyone to use. Easy to use. Big screen!

Samsung mad it simple. This device serve us well for 3 years. Battery life was good. Screen resolution is clear and sound is great. Great tablet for the money.

I purchased this for my 92 year old father who needed an easy to navigate tablet. I looked at many alternatives including a kid's tablet and found Samsung to offer a very clean easy format. He has picked up the navigation fairly easily. My complaints would include the ultra sensitivity of the edges of the tablet. If you barely touch the edge while holding it responds. Interesting enough the main screen is not nearly as responsive. The battery life is really good. However, you would think with the price, Samsung could include a charging cord that is longer than 2 feet. He uses it while sitting in a chair and we have had to plug the charger into an extension cord.

I got this tablet to replace my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 8.7 which was discontinued by Samsung. I have owned this tablet for 4 months now and I have to say that, the tablet works with no issues: the screen is bright and I like the blue light filter (images are not as sharp as the Tab Pro); and the camera works and the photo quality is okay. It can be sluggish at times if you are multitasking or heavily gaming. It does not have an IR blaster like the Tab Pro but most mobile devices have gotten rid of this feature. 16 GB of memory is not enough these days as apps tend to save directly on the device and there is a ton of bloatware (which is usual Samsung); I have had mixed results of adopting an SD card as internal memory from various devices that had Marshmallow and up, so I do not want to risk frying another SD card and losing all my data again. I have been able to update the tablet to Nougat which was a pleasant surprise coming from my experience with my previous Tab Pro; it is uncertain whether or not there will be future Android updates as Samsung tends to focus on their higher end products (or so I have learned from owning various Samsung devices). I highly recommend getting the version with the S-Pen or the Tab S3 if you plan on drawing and photo editing on the Tab A. If you are looking for something that simply streams YouTube and casual online surfing, this one does the job.

Went in to purchase a smaller model the 8 inch with i think 8gb. Instead for a few more dollars i got a 12 inchbthat had more memory and much better picture capability! Great buy!

just got the galaxy tab 1 10.1 in today and had some time playing with it. I was upgrading from the original moto xoom tablet. The Tab A is very nice, fast, great screen, the micro SD slot is a plus, battery has been doing better then expected. My ONLY complaint is the spam, it is preloaded with stuff you cant remove like the Microsoft word and such, plus I keep getting notifications from one drive to buy a MS product to get 100 free gigs. I cant stop it!!! On screen 1 is like a briefing app, it takes up the ENTIRE screen and you cannot remove it!!! c'mon this is BS, taking up an entire screen with no way to remove it. Samsung really packed this thing full...of spam that cant be deleted.

This tablet is great to use with Kindle, basic word processing functions. I really like the size and it is light weight.

This tablet is fairly fast, it's great for taking to school and taking notes on in a business manner. This tablet is inexpensive for the average student and is great for business purposes.

This tablet is very easy to use, fits my hand, and I find that is easily adjusted to view by my poor eyesight !!!

I used the phone constantly to read books as well as all other usual tasks. My one was the galaxy s+ that was to large and slipped out of my pocket easily when wearing scubs, working in the hospital. I did add a memory card recently. Battery life good. The screen comes with a protective screen that fits snug. After a year and a half has dulled some but hasn't prompted me to replace it yet.
