I love my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 with S Pen that I bought on sale at Best Buy. I never imagined I would use it as much as I do. I especially like the S Pen, I used it to enhance several New Year's Eve photos. The size is perfect and I find myself using it a lot while sitting up in bed. A computer is too big and bulky and a phone, even though I love my Note 8, is too small except to make calls or while away from home, this tablet is great to do just about anything anywhere. I transferred all my data and apps from my Note 8. Love it and wish I got it sooner.

Tablet works great and looks nice! I'm able to do everything I need to for school except watch lecture presentations for my online class because whatever plugin that's required is not supported. I wanted it mainly to be able to take notes on power point lectures during class. It is great for that, and I'm happy with that aspect. Downside and why I didn't give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: While in the store, I asked if there was one on display that I could try out (an open box special is what drew my attention to this product). There was. But, it was only the tablet; not the S pen which is the component I was most interested in. So, I asked if there was an S pen on display with another product. There was. I loved it! Perfect size, shape, performance. EXACTLY what I was looking for. Instead of the open box special, I opted to just buy a brand new one. I was SO excited to try it out that I opened it up in the car on the way home. Open the box ✔. Find the tablet ✔. Find S pen ❎. Remove all packaging to find S pen ❎. WHAT??! WHERE IS MY S PEN??? Come to find out, it slides into the corner of the tablet. It is NOT the same pen I was shown in the store. It is TEENY TINY, has almost NO weight to it, and my wrist hurts after using it for an entire class. What's worse? The S pen I tried out in the store won't work with this tablet, so I can't just buy that one and use it! This very uncomfortable pen that comes with the tablet is the only one that will work. So, if your hands are bigger than a toddler's and you expect to use the pen for more than a couple minutes at a time, get something else. Sidenote: in addition to the product review, I'd like to add a comment for the Best Buy supervisors. It would be FANTASTIC if your salespeople knew enough about the products in your store to properly inform the people who are there to spend hundreds of dollars. For instance, when I asked if there was an S pen I could try out, I would have expected that salesman to tell me that it was NOT the same one that comes with the product I was interested in buying. I HAD THE PRODUCT IN A BOX IN MY HAND. It was obvious I was serious about the purchase. Very disappointing!

The Galaxy Tab A 10.5 ROCKS!!

I've been in Information Technology for over 35 years, so did quite a bit of research before purchasing this. Also demo'd in-store before the purchase. My conclusion up front is that this product ROCKS!! I have a Samsung Galaxy smartphone which has the same Android OS version as this Tab ("Marshmallow"), so that makes them similar in function and able to "play well" together. One thing I love about the Androids vs. "iThings" is that they function much like a Windows PC and don't require special software (e.g., iTunes) in order to transfer files, etc. This Tab accepts a micro-SD card up to 256Gb, which gives it nearly the storage capability of a laptop computer! Not only can you store office-type documents, music, audio recordings, pictures, etc. ... but you can configure most of the apps to automatically store their data on the SD card also. This more than offsets the LIMITED 16Gb internal memory. ONE IMPORTANT CAUTION HOWEVER: I initially purchased a SanDisk Micro SC card (one of their top models -- an "Ultra PLUS"). After much trial and consternation, I found that it was NOT COMPATIBLE with this particular Galaxy model. Although I use SanDisk cards almost exclusively in my pro cameras and other applications (they're tops on the market), I was disappointed to find that this particular card didn't work in the Tab A. SO ... I returned the SanDisk card and installed a Samsung EVO micro SD card and it worked perfectly! MORAL: purchase Samsung add-on card for this device and you'll live happily ever after! After getting through the aforementioned challenge, I am totally in love with my Galaxy Tab and would HIGHLY recommend it to others! ONE ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Besides other obvious uses, I utilize this Tab a lot for playing music. I'm a picky audiophile and wanted to get out of it all that it would produce. Again, after much research, I ended up with PowerAmp Pro music player app coupled with the Sennheiser PX 100-II portable headphones. WOW! This baby has an awesome sound processor, and coupled with the aforementioned app & phones, rivals the sound of my 1000w home audiophile system coupled with headphones costing 10 times as much. Just sayin ...

I am quite impressed by this tablet. It is very fast, has a very good display, is light and thin, and it is a vast improvement on my older tablet. I purchased a case and a wireless keyboard and expect this to substitute for a laptop when I travel. I can think of no negatives about this.

I have had several Samsung Tabs and other tablets also. The Tab A 10.1 is definitely the best for several reasons. It is very fast and I added a microsdhc making it very large for content also. The screen size is what all tablets should be if serious work to be done. The stylus pen definitely is handy and once you get used to it you won't use the tablet without it. Your fingers will tell you when you have been using them as stylus for too long. The weight is okay. If you have a normal flip case it is fine. If you use a case with a keyboard then it is felt as heavt. It is definitely a superb device.

My son has had a Samsung Galaxy pro tablet for three years. It still has better specs than most of the tablets on the market which made it difficult to find a “better” one. This one is better. The pen is an awesome addition. The battery is great.

I already have a Surface Pro 4 that I use a lot for work and art, however, I didn´t feel comfortable carrying a $1,200.00 device everywhere that only gets me about 6 hours of battery, so I needed something cheaper, smaller, and with great battery to sketch, read books (mostly art books), to use as a music player, and browse the internet. Fortunately, I found the Samsung Galaxy Tab a with S pen great for my needs, in addition to be a good companion tablet for my SP4 as use it as for references while working on several projects.

    My Samsung Tablet so far

I’ve used this tablet for almost two months now, having used an iPad previously. Although I’ve picked out a few negative points in the article and below, for my own use I can hardly fault it. The screen is bright and sharp and its performance is superb, as is its battery life. Having a microSD card slot is a real boon coming from an iPad. Travelling with the children I could easily load up the microSD card with films off my Plex server, just by drag and drop, and play them via the free VLC player. And I could edit videos directly off my GoPro’s card, just by pulling from the camera and inserting in the card slot. Considering the cost of this tablet is around half the price of the latest iPad, it represents very good value and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Since the Note 7 was recalled, I had to have another device with the Spen. This device is lightweight, but a good size at 10 inches. I find it fast and easy to use. There isn't much storage at 16GB, but that's easily handled with an SD card. Bluetooth works well. It has the new functionality of writing notes on the off screen as well. U can also add multiple user accounts. Movies look great on the screen, although it's not super duper crisp like some more expensive tablets. This is just what I needed, as it ticks all the boxes.

For anyone who wants to take notes during meetings, maintain a journal, keep track of ideas without relying on the chaos of post-it notes, or even draw out freehand, this is THE tablet for you. For anyone who could care less about working out your ideas, plans, notes, brainstorming, sketches, etc by hand, then there are cheaper alternatives out there. But for me, I know for a fact that keyboards have only a limited capacity to facilitate my learning, remembering, observing, planning, and organizing of information. For tablet purposes, I need an integrated stylus to get work done like I need air to breath. The only reason this is getting a 4/5 rating is that the stylus is a tad too small for my liking, in terms of its circumference and length. For the record, aside from this tablet, I am a Mac user, both for my laptop and my cell. Integration of my services (Dropbox, calendars, emails, etc) across devices and operating systems has caused me zero problems, so don't let that stop you from getting the Tab A 10.1.

This is a fantastic tablet. Purchased because I love my Note4 and didn't want to carry around a laptop to meetings. This has been a great choice. The installed apps for MS are just what I needed to keep up with meetings and projects. I use a Bluetooth keyboard with it to make notes and edit documents. The S-pen is excellent for taking notes also (one the primary reasons why I love my Note4 also). Much cheaper than a laptop or other tablets but this is a little powerhouse.

At $230 + tax, this is a great tablet. It comes with the S-Pen, which allows you to use many features not present or only somewhat present on other tablets. Drawing and sketching works great--you don't need a fancy rig to do sketching anymore. It's decently fast and responsive, although mine has a hiccup or two with Netflix occasionally. Otherwise, it's been great! Also, the battery life is fantastic--will likely last you 2+ days on a charge even with considerable use. It's probably the best 16:9 (actually 16:10) screen tablet at this price. Highly recommend!

Purchased this tablet about a month ago and am very satisfied with its design, build quality and performance. It is very responsive and I have not observed any lag. Pen response is also excellent. Although not as high a resolution as some higher-end tablets, the full HD resolution produces very sharp images with very good contrast. Battery life between charges is an excellent 12 hours. I would definitely purchase this tablet again.

Previously, I had Ipad, and it started to freez alot. After read all of review, I decied to buy two with the pen and one without pen. My daughter will be use it to design something on it. I tried one with pen and end up return one without pen since my son didn't need it and want to save me$$$. The price is way cheaper than ipad pro. I got it for $229 before Black Friday. The size and the price is right. We are very happy of it performance. I use it to watch tv. The picture is very clear and no lag. The camera is also very good if there is enough light. I have to say I love it more than ipad.

This is a very zippy tablet with ample system space and beautiful display. Under heavy use, it does get a little warm as well as drains battery rather quickly. For example, if making Skype video calls you can chew through a battery in about 2 hours. If 50/50 sleep and active use, I get about 8-10 hours battery life. I use mainly O365 (a lot of eMail and Outlook), Skype for Business, Twitter, XFinity WiFi app and ESET Mobile Security daily, and occasional Google apps like Maps, Search, YouTube, etc. The cameras are average image quality and the speakers are fairly small and poor so plan to use earbuds for some functionality. I was hoping to use as a car GPS but even max volume is not very distinguishable in a car setting. The GPS does work fantastic and the Wifi is great. GPS acquires position quickly and handles interference (bridges, overpasses, tunnels) well and the WiFi gets a strong, solid, fast signal even with weak or far access points. Construction is solid. No concerns in my pocket getting in and out of cars, chairs, etc. as it does not flex and built strong. Light drops are fine too. Screen is bright, wonderful color and amazing contrast. The screen is also very strong and incredibly scratch resistant. Cat game tested and polydactyl cat approved with NO scratches after rigorous fish and mouse scratching high-scores. Touch screen/tactile feel is above average. Lighter taps have good reponse. Swipe and gestures are positive with little error even initially. Price point is a bit high, especially given it's a 3GB RAM memory device with 2kx1.5k display, but the 32GB system storage is good.. so look for sales.

This is a great tablet that also includes the amazing S Pen. I love to use it for taking notes at meetings, and also for artistic endeavors. The screen is beautiful and clear, and it has extremely good battery life. It's such a top of the line tablet, for a very low cost. The only drawback, is it's 16 GB of memory. However, it does have an external card slot. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I got this for my daughter who loves art and is just getting into digital art. After reading many, many reviews online this tablet seemed to be the best starting point. I bought it and decided to test it out before giving it to her to be sure it met my expectations. I spent nearly an hour drawing on the tablet and it was AMAZING how much it felt like really drawing. I was just using the included notes-type app as well; I expect much more from an actual art application. I got it for my daughter but now I really want one for myself too! Great product!
