I'm a graduate student and I absolutely love this. The S-Pen writes very smoothly, there are many note taking apps to choose from, and taking digital notes on a single device makes me wonder why I stuck with pen and paper for so long. The tablet's also decent for browsing/email/casual applications. My only complaint is that it can be difficult to figure out some of the controls for the tablet or specific apps. This is my first tablet and I get it, having a bunch of buttons on screen is clunky and doesn't look good. But having buried commands is also difficult to adjust to (e.g. 'long press' to access a different set). At the end of the day though, this is just something I can get used to and will only get better over time. Overall, I'm extremely happy with my purchase. I've been using it for about a month. Props to Samsung for making an affordable tablet that fits a lot of basic needs.

Very nice and inexpensive tablet. Start up a little slow compared to my wife's ipad, but at 1/3 the price and not the top of the line Tab, I can live with it. Haven't used the stylus much, but very happy with the purchase so far. I bought it to load company email app so I have it at home. Most company email apps get access to all your personal texts, contacts, etc on your personal phone. I didn't want my employer to have that access to my life, so this has been a good solution for night and weekend access to work email.

I use this as an e-reader, screen to watch stuff on while on the treadmill, and a notebook for work. The s-pen and associated apps are great for productivity for work and school. Battery life is solid.

I bought my husband the iPad Pro, he liked it, but was not happy about the price tag. So we researched and found this hidden treasure. It was not available at any store in PR. so we ordered it and waited for it. My husband immediately fell in love with it. It does everything he needs, he uses it for work. His job requires a lot of logging information on notebooks/journals, and he had to carry them back and forth. With this tablet he only carries his laptop bag, that he also packs with the Samsung Tab. No more notebooks. The size is perfect. It is lightweight and he configured the display, so that only he sees what he is writing at his meetings. The Tab enables him to see the notes that he takes at meetings, calendar, etc. very easily. So if you are Android, and want a tablet with writing capabilities go with this for sure. It's a lot cheaper than the iPad Pro. We returned the iPad Pro.

The table is fast, the stylus works great for taking notes, it has great battery life and it is good for watching movies. This is my first android tablet so there is a learning curve and unfortunately not all the Microsoft programs (OneNote in particular) are fully functional like on my PC but you cannot beat the price for everything you are getting.

I wanted a tablet for a a really long time. I knew Samsung would be the brand I'd go with but I didn't know which tablet. I was looking forward to trying out the S Pen features with the Note 7 but with the unfortunate Note 7 fiasco, I figured it would be this would be a good alternative. It's not the lightest tablet and it does take a while to charge but the flip side is that I charge it once a week. I get light usage with mostly email, Web browsing, and occasional streaming of TV shows and YouTube videos. There is no lag, multitasking is great, and the S Pen is great too.

This thing it great for multitasking and note taking during class. I added the Google Handwriting recognition and it works great for making my garbage writing legible. Can also have the presentation slides up and notes on the split screen. It you're looking for a inexpensive tablet option that gets the job done.... This is it! The S Pen version makes this thing perfect!

I have been using this tablet for a few months now and really love the battery life, I can use it for several days before charging. Having the pen is a nice feature and it works quite well. This is not the fastest tablet available but it fits my needs. I give it 4 stars for only having 16 gig memory built in, that is small for tablets today.

Super happy with this purchase! The versatility of this tablet blew me away. An S pen was the icing on the cake when it came to picking out a Samsung tablet. I needed this mostly for art and for the family it has served those purposes alongside many other things! Quite an awesome piece of technology! Definitely would get another Samsung tablet.

Love it! It's fast, very user friendly and I love the pen.

The specs on this tablet are great. The pen works great. The screen is beautiful and videos play perfectly. The only downside is the 16 gigs of storage. A micro sd card is a must. Move all downloaded apps over to the card and the space is manageable. No issues with this tablet so far.

I bought this tablet specifically for the S Pen functionality since I have a Samsung Note 5 and wanted to use S Note between my phone and tablet. When I set it up, I discovered that S Note was replaced with Samsung Notes. I found that I couldn't download S Note from the Google Play Store on the tablet since it says it's not compatible with the Tab A. There is a workaround. I backed up the S Note APK using Astro File Manager from my Note 5 and installed it on the Tab A. Now I have a nice, fast tablet with the same great S Note app as my Note 5. I highly recommend this tablet for media consumption. No complaints.

I purchased this tablet to have an inexpensive item to carry with me for business. It is very easy to use. The size is large enough, but not too big and bulky. The pen is perfect for signatures with Square sales .

Great buy for a great price! The tablet works great and does everything I need it to and more. Everything loads very fast. The stylus makes the art programs great to work with. Very happy with my purchase.

This is a great tablet for artist who are poor. But without the S Pen, this tablet is still pretty good. The 2 megapixel front camera is good for video chats, and the back camera is decent in good lighting. The speakers could have more bass, but they get the job done. The display is great for the price, but most Samsung devices have great screens. The octacore Samsung processor is fast and reliable. The capsitive buttons could have been back lit. On the whole this is a great tablet with a good full feature set for the price. I would suggest getting the Samsung book cover if you consume a lot of multimedia. Now to the S Pen. Drawing with it becomes natural and easy after a while and can look just like a pencil or pen on paper. It is fairly accurate with very little input lag. The screen off note isn't as intuitive as it was on the Galaxy Note 7, but this is a lower end device. It would have been nice to incorporate scrolling with the stylus, but other than that I have no complaints.

After my old Samsung Galaxy Tab3 died after 5 years, I was in need of a replacement. I must confess that my wife and I are Samsung devotees so I looked for a replacement in the Samsung Tablet line. After looking at the many options, I was taken by the Tab A for several reasons. The fact that I have a Note 4 Phone and I use the stylus extensively mad the decision easy. The Tab A with stylus and multitasking was the perfect solution. It has proven to be amazingly fast and the stylus with multiple tips adds to the flexibility and functionality. I love it!!
