Unfortunately many questions I had before buying went unanswered by retailers, including Best Buy geeks. It is almost impossible to get good product information from sales, guess that's why not called info-techs. Samsung needs to better inform retailers of features and updates on devices. So for fellow non geek seniors, lookup a list of android (O/S) operating systems and release dates so you are not buying a 2-3 year old device they are unloading. The Tab A has an IPS LCD Capacitive type of screen, and I found that the colors are vivid, text sharp, and overall a beautiful screen on the Tab A. MS Office apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote are free for tablets, however, tablets OVER a 10.1 inch size and the Tab A 10.5 is larger, so the documents are read only, no editing. I found Office Suite-free in the play store to use with our old Microsoft office files. My tablet arrived with Oreo 8, however, I read that this device should receive at least one OS update so I should receive Android Pie soon. WiFi--This tablet has in the specs a dual band WiFi Radio (A/B/G/N, AC and dual band). If you have a 5GHZ capable router, it will connect to the fastest 5GHZ speed! According to information, this device accepted up to a 512 GB Micro SD card. That is one reason I did not decide to get iPad which does not. I will insert my old tablet SD card and copy any files I want to this new device. Its USB Port is a type C. and it has OTG (On the Go), which means with a USB/type C adapter, you can insert a USB Flash drive, USB mouse, USB keyboard (one at a time). Use this to copy files from your Flash drive to phone or vice versa) or it should be able to utilize type C adapter to HDMI if you don't use wireless. For a reasonable price, this Tab A is excellent. If you don't have to have lots of Internal Storage, then this TAB A is one you should consider.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5" 32GB ended up being a perfect choice for me. I love the size of the screen, the speed and clarity. It's easy to use and set up. The value for the price really exceeded my expectations. This is a great choice in Tablets. Not only did I purchase just one, but we purchased (2). My wife loves hers as well... Thanks for a great product.

I bought this to use for school for things that I don't need a regular computer for. My primary use so far has been to read ebooks for class. It's easy to carry and take everywhere. I can also use it for accessing my classwork online and for word documents. No problem navigating the internet. It us android and does everything my phone can do, other than make calls, but the screen is larger for what I need. I bought a "Fintie Keyboard Case for Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 2018 Model" to go with it. It is lightweight and basically turns it into a small laptop when I need one. While I do wish the tablet weighed a little less, it is not too heavy to carry and does feel durable. The battery has lasted for days for me before needing a charge. Overall, I'm really happy with it.

I purchased this for the larger screen size, long lasting battery, and four speaker Dolby Atmos sound which is incredible when watching movies. The screen resolution is not the best, but very good for the price. It recharges very quickly. Only wish the pre-installed word, excel and power point had user license included, this is extra fee from Microsoft, otherwise useless. Much nicer feel in the hand than the 10.1 Tab which has a plastic back, the 10.5 is rubberized and easier to hold, handle, and feels sturdier. Very pleased with this purchase!

Know this before buying , it does not work with an active stylus. This is an amazing media tablet. A very long lasting battery, great sound and a great picture. I used to use my S8+ for media consumption but I quickly switched. Love the large screen and the best, no button on the front. Grab a 128gb memory card and you are on your way!!!

I wanted an Android tablet more for fun than for a serious purpose, and after researching the possibilities, I chose the Samsung Galaxy Tab A. I haven't been disappointed. The sound quality for watching TV or movies, as well as listening to music, is excellent. The games I play alone and with others move quickly with no pause time. Although the camera on my Samsung phone seems to take sharper pictures, the photos in my files from other sources are clear and easy to access. With the 10.5-inch screen, E-books and printed materials are crisp and easy to read. This tablet will definitely accompany us on trips we have planned!

This tablet is so much faster than my TAB S2, and the battery lasts much longer. I can go more than two days without a recharge. The camera is also a great improvemet. I have no complaints about this tablet.

The tablet is great. Viewing movies is awsome when I have some down time. Fortunately you can add a memory card to expand and add plenty of movies. Its really slender and light.

I purchased this Samsung Tablet for my wife. She really likes it especially the picture quality. She uses the tablet for email, surfing the net and some games downloaded from the play store. Having 32 GB of storage, and the addition of an sd card leaves plenty of room for expansion. Also the 3 gb of memory allow for good response time.

I had an older Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 tablet that needed upgrading. Since Samsung just came out with the new 10.5, thought I'd give it a try. This tablet has plenty of storage, the screen resolution is excellent, and it works flawlessly for what I need it for. Web browsing, email, and movies and entertainment.

I purchased this Samsung Tablet for my husband for work. He really likes it so far. He loves the 32 Gigs, the picture quality is great, and he likes that you can record, but the only thing about that is it won't record the sound. It serves the purpose for what he needs.

My third Samsung tablet and they just keep getting better- amazing battery life, great speakers and screen quality

I purchased this tablet on black friday in 2018 and overall have been very happy with the tablet as well as its performance. Battery life has been really good and easily lasts me for several days. My biggest complaint would be the bloatware that Samsung installs of which many items can only be disabled and not uninstalled. NOTE: Since the tablet is 10.5" it does not qualify for free usage of Word and Excel which are installed and cannot be uninstalled and therefore can only be used to READ documents unless you pay up for Office 365.

Screen resolution is great and battery life too. By default, the tablet is encrypted too. A lot of cheap tablets on the market, skip them and get a Samsung.... Worth the price. Finding a nice case is a pain.... and BB has a very limited selection.

I bought this tablet to use on trips and while house sitting. It has more than met my expectations. I have used it to watch tv shows and movies and all have been vivid and clear. The tablet is fast for what I use it for; emails, internet searches and videos. I do save pictures and music on the SD card. I also feel that the audio is good, even better than my laptop.

I was replacing an older Samsung tablet. I chose the same brand because I trust the Samsung name. I never had any problems with older model. I would definitely recommend this tablet. It does everything I need to do online.

Big screen, 32 gigabytes, good battery life. Great tablet

This is my second Samsung Tablet so far. My old Tablet was good for 5 years until it started giving me problems with charging. I bought Samsung Galaxy Tab. A (2018), 32GB with 10.5" screen nearly month ago based on other customer's reviews only. The design, new features and screen resolution are great! The only concern was in the very beginning that sometimes the web pages got frozen for a few seconds and it really slowed down performance. Now it seems to be fine, works really fast. I also bought a beautiful cover at Amazon.com for this model. Happy with my purchase so far!

This is an excellent tablet, with great battery life and fast WiFi connectivity. I added a 64GB MicroSD card for extra storage, and the tablet sees a lot of use in viewing PDFs, streaming audio, and even as a light-duty writing device (with a Bluetooth keyboard). Highly recommended, even if it is an older model.
