Missed Opportunity
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This model (SM-T580) is the second Samsung android tablet I'd purchased in recent months. The earlier model is the SM-T830, which I returned due to problems with a slow-moving processor and a fast-draining battery. Like the 830, the 580 has many positive attributes going for it -- including a good (through not great) screen; and excellent Android software. But like the 830, the 580 has hardware issues as well: 1. It sometimes has real difficulty remaining connected to 5 gHz wi-fi; 2. Video playback -- particularly on Google's own YouTube TV -- is stuttering, at best (and shuts down entirely, at worst). I view this as a missed opportunity, because -- especially at this price point -- this model has plenty of promise. I'll no longer buy Samsung products, as these two tablets -- and a computer I bought years ago, and returned -- have similar hardware issues. I thought Samsung was better than this; evidently not.

Very satisfactory tablet

Its only drawback in the short time after I purchased is that the sensitivity of the touch i is variable, problem I did not have with a prior Samsung tablet. Adjusting the sensitivity did not have any effect. Since no Bast Buy store in the area had it in stock, I was not able to note this problem before my purchase.

Very fast, very bright, clear screen. Love that you can expand the memory and that you can plug in additional card readers and accessories into the USB-C port for more functionality.

2018 samsung tablet
