I bought my Galaxy Tab A 8" (2017/"Latest Model") four weeks ago in August 2018. I'm very pleased with it and it does everything I need it to do. I bought it to use where I have Wi-FI -- at home and when traveling -- so I'll have a larger screen than my cell phone. The new 16:10 format makes the tablet easy to hold in one hand, especially with a grippy silicone case. (Without a case, the tablet is very slippery.) In addition to the new narrower 16:10 format, other features I like are the 32 gb internal storage, crisp photos, sharp display, micro SD card slot, Microsoft Office pre-installed, and little or no "bloatware". Download the User Manual from the Samsung website and read it to learn how to use all the features. Finding a glass screen protector was a bit of a hassle. My local Best Buy store did not stock the screen protector. Many online screen protectors for the Tab A 8" do not state whether they are for the 2015 tablet or the 2017 tablet, and the size of the two are not the same. I had my Best Buy store order the Sahara Case screen protector from the Best Buy website. It's a perfect fit. The screen protector is a bit pricey @ $29.99, but it's apparently nearly bulletproof. (Oddly, the screen protector is identified as being for the 2018 Tab A 8", but it's the right one for the 2017 tablet.) Overall I'm fully pleased with my Galaxy Tab A 8" (2017) and have not been disappointed with it in any way.

It's really quick coming from a Tab2S. Screen is sharp and bright.

This tablet has been problematic. When working, works ok. It will lock up when trying to turn the unit on. Will not boot to operating mode after initiating with password periodically. After researching this issue on line, you need to "hard boot" by holding down the "on/off" button and the volume button simultaneously. What a pain. This usually works after 2 or 3 tries. I did not find any firmware upgrade fix from Samsung to fix this major problem. It also will turn itself off if any pressure is applied to the lower left corner when held in hand. No fix for that other than avoiding holding it in that location. I would definitely NOT recommend this tablet.

Basic tablet, no extra features. Bottom buttons do not light up.

I read most of my ebooks on my tablet. I have a micro sd card that I keep the books uploaded to. Unfortunately with this tablet, you can't just insert the sd card and use your ebook reader to open the books. It won't show them. You have to upload to the internal memory which is not what I want to do. I ended up giving it as a gift to my grandchild who wanted it for gaming.

So far so good. Only a month not much to say as of now

It's a good tablet, my first. I've had no issues with it.
