Not user friendly
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned this after one week. It was not user friendly. It would not hook up with my printer and there was no manual. Customer representative from Samsung at the store was not very friendly or helpful. She just gave me a quick answer and left.

First Samsung tablet - good one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Samsung tablet. It's fast and does what I want it to do - email, browsing, Youtube, Netflix, Prime, games, etc. However, there seems to be a (design?) issue... there is no backlit for "back" or "home" or "recent", thus one less star. Why Samsung???

Great tablet. Just got Android 8.1 update.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the SM-T380NZSEXAR (Tab A 2017 version) back in May. After more than six months of use I can say I'm very happy with the tablet. I use it mostly for checking news/social media, checking maps, making reservations, and watching videos when traveling, and for selecting videos to cast to my TV via Chromecast when I'm at home. Tablet is responsive, has good battery life, good app compatibility, and charges quickly. As a bonus, I just received an update to Android 8.1 and "Samsung Experience version 9.5" and the update allowed changing the irksome (to me) over/under display of time on the lock screen to the more conventional "xx:xx" format. Some nits: the case is slippery. It'd be good if it had some texture. The Running Apps and Back buttons don't light up, nor are they easy to see except in the right light. Not a big deal if you use the tablet much because you get used to just knowing about where they are relative to the home button but it would still be nice if they were more readily visible. Tidbit: The USB C charging connector and associated charger work great. But USB C is still not as nearly widespread as micro USB. So I recommend folks consider getting some micro-USB to C adapters (very cheap on certain online auction sites) or an extra USB C cable to keep in their bag in case you need to 'borrow' someone's charger when on the road.

Love it so far!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Back in January I had purchased the Tab A 7" 8GB model and was unhappy with it from the beginning. Limited storage due to bloatware that could not be removed and even though I added a micro SD card, very few apps could be transferred. The end of the line was when it suddenly stopped recognizing my Chromecast, which was the main reason I bought it. Apparently the OS is now obsolete with Google Home. Of course Google blamed Samsung and Samsung blamed Google. I decided to take a chance on the Tab A 8" 32 GB and have not been disappointed. 4 times the storage plus it does allow you to delete a lot of the pre-loaded app. Much faster, better resolution and best of all, streams beautifully with Chromecast. If you are torn between these two tablets, absolutely spend the extra money for this model. It's worth every penny!

So-So Tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a 2 year old 8" Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 that is still chugging along just fine. I bought this kind of as a back up since the battery charge is not holding quite as long as it once did on the S2. The S2 still runs circles around this entry-level tablet. The Tab A is a bit heavy. Also, it has only one speaker which is fine for basic audio. The major issue that I have with with the Tab A is WIFI connection and speed. The S2 automatically connects to the 5GHz band on my modem. The Tab A does not; it usually connects to the slower 2.4 GHz band. This occurs with the two tablets running side by side. Sometimes the Tab A connects to the 5G band, but more often it connects to the 2.4 GHz band. I did return this tablet once to see if a second Tab A had better WIFI, but the second one was the same as the first. For the price, this is a good entry-level tablet for kids and for first-time tablet users. It does have a lot of great features, including a USB-C connection and great battery life. Even the picture quality is pretty good. If it weren't for the WIFI issue, this would really be a winner.

great deal on a tablet.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Originally went by to pick out the tab A 10.1 as website said it was available. Bigger than I had expected. Was still window shopping when I saw this model. Just the size i was looking for. Newer model, bigger memory, newer android operating system. Bonus was the model I ended up buying was an open box for about $120. expected to run marshmallow 6.0 on 10.1 to loaded with nougat 7.0 with the tab a 8.0. Surprised when it automatically updated to Oreo 8.1 Wife bought it for me as a birthday gift and I got extremely lucky with this tablet. Really enjoying it so far. Highly recommend it.

Great buy... worth the $$
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my 7year old daughter. We are a HUGE apple family.... the iPad is just so pricey for a 7YO, and we saw the new 2018 tabA ON sale for $100. Had to grab it, since we travel a ton during the summer. The battery lasts DAYS... not an exaggeration. My daughter plays games, watches YouTube and Netflix. We were able to last 2-3 days before the tablet dropped to 10% battery. I am impressed. It’s worth your $$

Rating isn't for product, it is for BB fraud
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When one orders something listed as "latest model", one expects something current. I ordered this, and ordered accessories (including one from the "suggested" list. What we received is the 2017 model, NOT the 2018. When carefully looking, we discovered the "latest model" as listed is from 2017, while there is also a separately listed 2018 model which also isn't noted in the description. So I now have a screen protector that is opened and was attempted to be applied, and a case. Both of these don't fit the 2017 model since we ordered the "latest version" BB appears to not care, offering a return only on the tablet itself but not accessories. Product description of miselading item: Samsung - Galaxy Tab A 8.0" (Latest Model) 32GB - Black Browse the web with this 8-inch Samsung Galaxy tablet. Its 5MP front camera and 8MP rear camera let you take selfies and family photos in low light, and the 1.4GHz quad-core processor ensures lag-free performance. Mom approved
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought this for my mother who is 65. She has a galaxy phone but isn’t the most tech savvy. So with that being said, she loves the device and so do I. It’s easy to pick up and use if you’re familiar with the galaxy 7. There’s a noticeable difference in the quality though. I feel like this is a premium device with basic features. Basic enough where my mom can pick it up and use it, but it’s still a very useful and functional tablet. If you’re looking for something simple, yet gives you a premium feel, this is the tablet for you. Btw all the apps that she’s familiar with are on this. She’s had her phone for three years, so I was worried that some apps might not be compatible. Now she can finally play her games on a screen bigger than 5 inches. LOL!
