    Enjoying Upgraded Tablet

We weren't actually shopping for a tablet, but decided to walk through BB. The promotion to trade-in (an up) from the old tablet to the newest mid-level tab from Samsung was too good to pass up. It was good enough that my mom decided she didn't want to move from a 7" to an 8", but up to the 9.7". So with the promotion, spent $200 for her to get this new tab. Screen size is good. The case is streamlined, but tablet seemed a little heavier than I'd anticipated. Also wasn't happy they only had 2 colors. While 50% off was a nice incentive, with after-market cases for significantly less, it was a hard sell for the Samsung case in either black/granite or blue. The inclusion of the MS Office products was the defining point and convinced me to trade in another old tablet for a 9.7" TAB A for myself. We've only had this tablet for a short time, but so far, we've been enjoying it. Pros: Good size, especially for older users; MS Office for productivity Cons: A little heavy for reading with one hand, especially with Samsung case installed; color options for the accessories available are severely lacking.

This 9.7" size is a very good compromise between a cell phone and a lap top, including the price aspect. For the price it is a worthy possession.

The only PROBLEM I have with this tablet is that it DOES NOT have a built in flash for the camera. I was out of town 4th of July weekend and I tried to take pictures at NIGHT! NO LUCK! Why have a camera with NO FLASH????? I would recommend this product to someone that doesn't plan to use the device camera at NIGHT!

SAMSUNG TABLET A 9.7" - Very Cost Effective Tablet

The positives : - it is a convenient size, 9.7" screen; big enough to make most tasks and browsing easy and yet small enough to be carried conveniently. Any larger, and might as well carry a laptop around ( only because current laptops have 1TB of HDD, more USB ports and a larger battery with more weight of course !!) . - a screen that has very acceptable resolution,1024 x 768 XGA, for most tasks, a wide viewing angle and good anti-reflection characteristics. - good general purpose camera for everyday use; if in need of better quality take your DSLR along. - came with Microsoft WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT. - has a plethora of APPS available via the Android network. - has internal 16GB storage and can very conveniently increase storage by adding a micro-SD card. - easily couples to a Bluetooth keyboard when required. - about half the price of the leading competitor product. The negatives : - none.

I bought this tablet because it was on sale and I knew it just had been upgraded to Marshmallow OS Actually the in store Samsung Best Buy associsote Blake upgraded it for me while I waited instead of having to do it over the air. This was a very nice service since sometimes errors have been know to happen during s update , but I got to leave the store that day good to go. The tablet isn't a iPad Pro in speed or anything but I bought it as a secondary tablet for email..internet usage and online buying with amazon and eBay ..and it does great for that. I do play a few basic games fine also with it . ..it can play the other demanding games..it just loads a lot slower and can take sometime to get started I guess. Overall for under two hundred dollars for a Samsung 9.7in tablet running the latest OS ..I think it's a great value...you will to I bet .

I don't really now where to start, I mean for the price you pay your getting what I would consider a better tablet than most. The build quality is good not great, it feels really lite but not cheap, the speakers sound great, that's right speakers it has 2. Does take a while to charge from zero but battery lasts my kids all day with heavy use like Netflix, gaming and YouTube. It can be used outside but you'll need to turn up the brightness and that will kill some battery life, at 30-50% you can get all day power but it seems to greatly deplete when turned higher than that. It hasn't disconnected from wifi since its been setup unlike our iPad which randomly disconnects itself. The micro usb is great to load up movies or tv shows for the kids and they connect it in the truck via Bluetooth and get the theater sound experience on the road for long trips, no delay in audio with the bluetooth 4.1 while connected to my Ford F-150 sync system or my wife's Mazda CX-5 both vehicles are 2016. Haven't tested in older vehicles. Connects well with home audio speakers as well. Kids and my self love it and haven't used the iPad since we bought it, only bad thing I can say about it is that it doesn't charge fast so if your ok with that and are not a hardcore user like editing and things like that it should do everything you need it to do just fine like streaming and gaming. I didn't really want to add the camera to my review because all tablet cameras are terrible but if you must know the camera is about on par as other tablets if not slightly worse than top model or more expensive tablet cameras.

Purchased this for my son who was deploying once again (his 6th) and decided he needed a tablet this time and not a laptop. Having been a die-hard Samsung fan and loving their customer support and products we decided that this was the right one. There was some confusion as to what is and is not available in the tablet like the ability to use a 256Gb memory card or if it had all the bells and whistles that were needed (wanted). Best Buy has updated the site to include the fact that it does have the GPS included and that it is Bluetooth 4.1 which were missing from the site and the Samsung packaging. The device can only be upgraded to 128 Gb and it will not recognize a 256Gb. The device is very sturdy and has a nice clean look and feel to it. The camera and sound work great and there is no loss of volume as you find on some other (non Samsung) products. It does take some abuse and keep working even in some very harsh environments (sand, wind, humidity). Highly recommend you purchase a screen protector for it and a good keyboard/case for it when traveling which also provides a way to hold on to it as it is slick.

I bought this primarily to read books but also to reference my notes while I'm speaking or presenting. The battery life is amazing. After a full day of use the battery is still at 70%, and I don't think it would have any issues making it through three days without charging. I really appreciate having my speaking notes on this device without having to worry about the battery running down when I need it the most. I had read some reviews that played up the so-called poor resolution of this device, but I have absolutely no complaints. The resolution may technically be poorer than the latest model iPad, but my eyes are fine after reading books for several hours each day on this device (using both the Kindle app and Play Books). I would highly recommend this tablet

I got this as part of the Trade-in promotion and I am really enjoying it. Since I was able to get the tablet at a discounted price, I do not have quite the pain point that some other people have had. Lets get this out of the way first, the bad. The screen resolution could be better for a tablet in this day and age and this price. It would've also been nice if it had supported wireless charging, but it does not seem to. That being said. I replaced a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and this tablet is much faster, smoother and all around nicer than the Tab 2 10.1. It has the updated Android OS and at this point runs better than my Nexus 7. The difference between the 9.7 and 8 may not seem like that much, but I think it is. Although the 8 is also nice. Same snappy performance and a smaller, lighter frame. If you have the opportunity and the inclination I would suggest picking this up.

I bough this tablet for my dads birthday. He loves playing games on his phone but he couldn't stand the small screen. So i thought it would be a nice gift for him to have. He loves it. Not only is he playing all his favorite games but hes been learning how to use the internet and other apps. It looks exactly like my Samsung galaxy 5 smartphone, so it makes it easy for me to teach him how to use it. The only problem I have with it is the memory. He likes having pictures accessible on his tablet too but it keeps saying that it is running low on memory. So he either gets to keep his games or his pictures. Other than that I think its a good product.

Exactly What I Needed At A Great Price

I bought this tablet primarily for three reasons, reading and studying and because it was on sale at a very good price. I have a Note 4 and did most of my reading on the PC or that device. But as I got into buying and studying digital books, I needed a larger device so I could read, watch lecture videos and take notes. This tablet does all three perfectly. The only caveat is that I wish it had better resolution but that is absolutely not essential for my use, therefore this tablet fits perfectly. There were also no transition issues from my Note 4 to the tablet as they utilize the same O/S and many of the same apps.

Got this to replace my son's broken tablet. Previously had a 10.1 Galaxy Tab Pro. Overall this was an upgrade. It runs faster, has a more current version of Android, the battery lasts longer, & runs smoother. In other ways it's a downgrade. Screen is a little bit smaller & the screen resolution is lower. However for my 5 year old it's a non issue. He absolutely loves this tablet & actually users it more often than his old tablet. There are also much more cases available that fit our needs. I was able to get a case that had a carrying handle on it through another website. This is a great tablet for kids. I paired it with a 32GB SD card just for some extra storage & it works without issue.

I sold my iPad 1 and traded-in a junk tablet as part of a promotion at Best Buy to get this tablet. Ended up paying around $100 for it. Great mid-range tablet. Good for all the basic stuff, browsing the internet, watching videos, sending emails, etc. Pros: -The multi-app split screen feature is very cool. You can split your screen and watch Youtube on one half and send emails on the other. The only drawback is that only a handful of apps can utilize this feature -Cheap accessories for this tablet can be found online -Expandable SD card slot -Pretty fast, no lagging -Good screen size Cons -Screen resolution isn't as good as the Tab S and other high end tablets -No flash on camera, not sure if other tablets have this feature -Samsung bloatware -Camera is average, nothing special -Regular price is a bit high for a tablet that is not top of the line, if you can get a Tab S or something high end for within $50 higher, I would go for that instead.

I bought the Galaxy Tab A to replace an aging laptop computer. It connects easily to our dual band WiFi and stays connected. It updated to the latest version of Android and was easy to set up and personalize. Samsung provided software to may it easy to mirror my phone. The screen resolution is not great, but more than adequate for web browsing, document editing and games. I would be hesitant to use for serious photographic purposes. Battery life is very good, and I can usually go all day and still have over 50% remaining. The cameras are less than expected, especially after seeing output from the S7 phones. The main selling point for me is the S-Pen. The S-Pen gives me the ability to sketch out a design, add notes to photos or documents and control the device. Samsung hit it right with this. I do not like the fact it is only a 16 GB device. Even with an additional 64GB card installed, applications try to save either to the device memory or to "cloud" storage provided by Google or Microsoft, depending on the app. On my device, the 16 GB filled rapidly, and there are apps that I don't use that cannot be removed. I also cannot save files to an NAS drive on our network, nor can I access files on our networked PCs. I did find several apps that do allow me to print to a networked printer, from which I was able to print several e-mail attachments. The apps included to do this would only allow if I printed to PDF, stored on the appropriate cloud and sent to a printer that was in itself a wireless device (and supported by the printing app). All in all, this was a good purchase for me, and I could recommend it to friends and family, but it is not a laptop replacement.

Not the biggest fan of tablets. I like the size of this one and love using it for NETFLIX. It did not want me to use AOL which got aggravating. I got the tablet to use while my computer was sent to be repaired. Since I bank online and don't have or use a cellphone for this purpose, I had to purchase something. I receive a lot of emails which is a pain on a tablet. Otherwise, it gave me no problems.

I've had many cheaper 10" tablets that cost me about $69.00 and I consider them disposable. This year my spouse decided I needed a "real" tablet since I use them so often. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A , fits the bill perfectly. I love how light and slim it is the expandable memory is a must. the charge this tablet holds is very impressive I keep it on and use it all day every day and have to charge it only every other or 3 days. it's fast and the touch screen is highly responsive. I ordered a case and screen protector for it which I haven't not received as of yet. I was a bit skeptical since it came with lollipop installed , but it quickly updated to marshmallow the current android system. I'd love to know if it will update to nougat as it becomes more widely installed. all apps run fast and quickly . I very happy with this. then again.. look at my old comparisons ! I do have to say that once in a while this tablet does lock up on me and I have to reboot it or sometimes do a hard shut down. oddly enough this happens less frequently as I use it. one last note. this tablet is very intuitive as to your habits, accounts etc. sometimes I wonder if I like that it knows and stores so much about me ! because of this I do use a password and lock screen and a tablet disabler installed should it be stolen or I lose it. over all. I'd rate it a high 80% great for the money tablet.

This particular model came with a stylus included within the housing, which helps keep the screen clean and (mostly) free of fingerprints. Easy to setup and use, able to connect to G or N Wi-Fi networks, and typically has a battery life with moderate usage of a couple days. If you want a nice tablet, but don't wish to pay too much, the Galaxy Tab A would be an ideal candidate.

Excellent battery life allows me to keep up with school and work. It is much easier to access and complete assignments without having to carry around a huge laptop. Also, the ability to add memory is a great addition that separates it from the iPad. My biggest complaint is the low resolution screen. It's good for reading and viewing movies during trips, but reminds me of the old LCD days. It's perfect as far as my needs, but pass if you are utilizing it for gaming or graphics intensive programs. This won't keep up. The price was perfect as I caught a great sale from Best Buy and this matches well for my basic needs.
