While some users wish for improved camera quality and more memory, the positive feedback on usability and value outweighs these concerns. The tablet's lightweight design is also frequently praised.

Seriously?
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Day 3 its stuck on an endless update/install loop. Back to back. Also, day 1, after I install the recommended anti-virus program, I'm pretty sure my Google account was compromised. Every day of my calendar til the end of time filled with some adult site link. I was able to delete it but why did that even happen? It has a weak touch response too.

Great Tablet
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For Android phone users, especially for Samsung phone users, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 32GB is easy to use. I prefer the 32GB over the 16GB for just a few dollars more. 8inch fits my one hand perfectly (as a 10inch would be too big to hold one handed.) Battery life is good. Charges fast. Easy to set up for 1st time use. Handy to leave at the kitchen table or living room & perfect for checking for information online throughout your day - without having to use your laptop or desktop computer.

First impressions
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tablet is great for the price. I'm able to complete my online homework for university, read textbooks, and watch videos. It's small enough to fit in my backpack with ease. I only have two gripes with it right now, the lack of a physical home button and the position of the headphone port. Im not sure if people actually care about the camera quality on a tablet but I've attached two pictures taken with the front and rear camera. so far this is a great tablet for the cost. It's not the fastest or most flashy tablet but it gets the job done at a quarter of the cost.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Samsung - Galaxy Tab A (2019) - 8" - 32GB - Black is a great all around tablet. It has a very sharp display & fast processor. Just the right size to take everywhere & with an SD Card you can expand storage. It comes with Android Pie, but as soon as activated it updated to Android 10. I just read an article on line that Samsung will also be updating this model to Android 11 sometime in early 2021. The battery lasts forever & charges quickly. Thank you Best Buy for always providing the very best pricing as well on this item.

A great example of price and performance.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Samsung has done an excellent job in finding the perfect balance between value and price, as demonstrated by their Galaxy Tab A. However, there are a few things to keep in mind when deciding whether or not to buy a tablet. Firstly, a tablet won't motivate you to do something you don't already do. If you don't read or watch videos, you won't suddenly do so with a tablet. So, save your money if you don't have a clear need for one. Secondly, if you do have a clear need and are willing to put in some effort to adapt to the tablet, it can be an invaluable tool in your daily life. However, you must have a clear idea of what role you want it to play. Regarding the Galaxy Tab A, it strikes a good balance between function and cost. Although it may feel a bit plastic-y and the screen may not be the best, these downfalls fade into the background once you become accustomed to it. The device and software are good enough that you can focus on your work or activity without distraction. The tablet has some great features as well. For example, it has a long battery life and a built-in amplifier that provides clear audio. Additionally, a tablet is a more future-proof option than a laptop, as it is less expensive to replace and all information is backed up in the cloud. In conclusion, the Galaxy Tab A is an excellent option for those looking for an Android tablet in the budget range. However, it's important to have a clear idea of what you want to use it for and be willing to put in some effort to adapt to it.

Love it more than I thought I would.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This replaces my 7" Samsung Tab 2 which I had for years, but the battery could not be replaced, for fear that the screen would break. I loved the size and did not want to go up to a 10" inch. This 8" Tab A is great and the size works. Great quality picture and nice to have a quick response again and not have to charge every hour. The price was good too, much more reasonable than the Tab 2 from years ago.

Step in the right direction for the Galaxy Tab A
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Compared to previous generations, this Tab A is decent. The case and build quality are actually great for the price you pay and the fact that it can update to Android 10 is nice. The battery life is great so far, and performance is good for casual use. This tablet, however, is definitely not a good competitor to the iPad Mini. And frankly, I don't think it's meant to be either. It's a budget tablet meant for casual users or even kids who don't game heavily or watch full high definition video or do anything processor heavy or require a good display. And that's probably the main bone I have to pick with this tablet. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8"' s display is horrible compared to the iPad Mini's. That's not an exaggeration. At 800 x 1280, you get blurry looking text with seldom a sharp image. It's a far cry from a retina display, but it does the job if you don't need one. Additionally, Samsung doesn't seem to like supporting their devices as long as Apple nor patching this particular tier of device as often. What you do get over the iPad Mini is expandable and removable storage with a micro SD slot, and the Android operating system. And of course, a great priced tablet! This tablet is definitely a case of you get what you pay for!

Great tablet!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked up two on the Treasure Truck for our kiddos to replace old 7" Samsung tablets. I honestly wasn't expecting much as a Tab A, but I really like these! They come automatically with 32g of storage, which is great when downloading a bunch of games and apps that hog storage. Add an SD card and you're golden for a while. In particular was a messaging app that allows us to video chat as a family of 4 - the tablets do not have a lag even with 4 on video at the same time and show a clear picture using the front facing camera. And the battery lasts for what seems like forever - the first day with a full charge, it was used for over 4 hours (per the parental app we also downloaded) with videos and games, and still had over half of the charge. And as far as the size, you wouldn't think going from a 7" screen to an 8" screen would really make a difference, but it really does. The colors are vivid and bright. I can't speak for the tech stuff, but as a daily tablet to run games and videos and surf the internet and video chat, this really is great. I'm going to return and purchase another for myself to replace an old Nook.

Great for Video Chat!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a senior, and this is my first tablet. I bought this to video chat with grandchildren and attend congregation meetings during the stay at home order. Both cameras work excellent, and the sound is very good. The battery life seems to be very good and charges up quickly. I am still learning how to use it. I would have liked to have a user's manual rather than having to download one. So far I am finding it to be just the right size for me and all the buttons and ports are in user friendly layout. I comparison shopped before I purchased, and I found it to be quite a reasonable buy. I will definitely recommend this to others!

Excellent tablet for reading and internet searches
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Samsung Note 8 tablet is still a wonderful piece of tech, but it hasn't received an OS update past Android's Kit Kat and there's apps it can no longer run. So, I bought Samsung's Tab A. Frankly it's about the equal of my Note 8 with these exceptions: Taller, but more narrow; lacks the digital pen feature; slightly faster processor; but most importantly it has Android 9. If Samsung would allow the OS to be updated the way Windows and Mac OS can be these tablets would be ideal. As it is you get a few years out of them and then you have to move on. I do like the new Tab A and I'm sure I will get my money's worth from it, as I have and still am with my Note 8! I admit, the price on the new Tab A is much cheaper than my Note 8 (it cost about one-half what the Note did!). You can't go wrong with this tablet, it's fast, smooth, looks great and the screen is the equal of my Note 8, which was one of the main reasons I bought it in the first place. Oh, yes, Samsung makes available an app called Samsung Smart Switch, which transfers all of your apps and data from your old Samsung tablet to your new one! This makes it so easy to change tablets. I highly recommend this tablet.

Great for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Galaxy Tab A - 8" to replace my Galaxy Tab A - 6". I love the size of the 6" better, but the OS was outdated. The 8" has a LOT of new features. Some are just annoying, but some really help. I like the auto light adjuster. While walking from a dark room to a bright room it adjusts the lighting so I can still read it. I like how there are no buttons on the front of the tablet that can accidentally get pushed and also that you just tap the screen to get to the lock screen. The Samsung software is annoying and mostly just taking up space, but with 32 gb it has enough space to use other apps. The camera is great, better than my phone. Being as big as the tablet is it is sometimes clunky to use the camera. I'm still exploring all the new Google apps. Some are pretty nice, such as using the camera to google what something is. All in all, I'm glad I purchased the 8" tablet.

Quality Tablet
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this is a great tablet: Quality physical build, decent performance, good colors on the screen, and quite sufficient battery life. The one thing that I find slightly annoying is that it can be a little slow at times (although nothing too bothersome). However, this is expectable with a budget tablet like this one. If you want a device designed for impeccable, blazing performance while working with Photoshop, Lightroom, and the like, buy a more expensive tablet (whether Windows, Android, or iOS). Also note that this tablet's compatibility with pressure-sensitive styluses is rather limited to nonexistent. I'm therefore planning to eventually buy a traditional one. If you're just looking for a larger screen on which to write emails, read articles online, do some basic work in Photoshop and Lightroom, and the like, this tablet is an excellent option to consider.

Great for Reading and Shopping
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an older version of this tablet that was slow and out of date. I got the new tablet so that I could still use Overdrive Media to download books from my library. It responses much quicker than my old one. It recharges quickly and the battery keeps the charge much longer than my old tablet. I've been reading lots more books since the pandemic and this tablet is perfect for reading Kindle books. It does everything I need it to do. Very good quality, and easy to use.

Great overall tablet for simple task.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We use these tablets for our business, but this would be good for any student, teacher or anyone looking to do basic task on a bigger screen. I would rather pay more to get more Ram but that isn't an option. Please be aware that a good chuck of your memory is used out of the box. Comes with 2GB of Memory out of the box the tablet is using 1.1 GB of memory only giving you 0.9GB Memory left.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was the second tablet I have purchased, two different Brands, both well known. I purchased a second tablet because the first one I purchased was very very slow. I decided to go with Samsung because that is the Brand of my cell phone, and I have been very pleased with it. I am so happy that I chose this tablet. It has been everything that I hoped for. I mainly use it for surfing the web and have been very pleased with it so far. The battery life is sufficient, sound is good, surfing goes fast, and picture is good. Pleased with my purchase.
