I currently have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A T580 (2016) and an iPad 9th gen (2016) the later of which is being used by my wife. Being 6 years old, my other tablets were becoming a bit slow although resetting the T580 to factory defaults and then reinstalling the apps significantly sped up this older tablet. I primarily use the tablet to watch videos (Netflix, Pluto, etc.) and do research via a browser. Although I didn't really need a new tablet, special circumstances enabled me to get this tablet new for < $180 (sales tax holiday also) which was a deal that I couldn't pass up. Keep in mind that whenever you switch to a new device there will be subtle differences that will take some time to get used to. The picture on this tablet is excellent with good color rendition. The color tone is a little less warm (less reddish) than the iPad or T580 but is excellent and now that I have gotten used to it, I prefer the color rendition on this tablet. If after you load the tablet and don't like the color or picture, I'd suggest going to settings/display and then; 1) Turn brightness up to just a little to the left of the red part of the line 2) Turn adaptive brightness off 3) Turn eye comfort shield off. Note that if you tap the text "Eye Comfort Shield" you are taken to a 2nd screen where you can adjust the color temperature. Like the color temp in a light bulb it will change the color tone from more white to yellowish. Unlike the iPad and T580, this tablet does not have a physical home button which took me a couple of hours to get used to. Although I would prefer a physical home button the soft button (swipe up a little and then select the rectangle) works fine. I should note that I used the data transfer tool to copy all of my data, settings and apps from the T580 to the new tablet. There were a few minor issues but the transfer completed. However, the color on the Tab A was off - a bit to the yellow, white skin was gray, shadows had a green/yellow tint, no true white and I couldn't find a setting to correct this. At first I assumed there was a defect in the tablet. However, I reset to factory defaults and then manually reloaded and now everything is fine. I think that the wallpaper options on this tablet are terrible. You can install an app that can be used to download other wallpapers but who wants another app. I just went outside and took a pic of the blue sky with clouds and use this as my wallpaper which I really like. Older Android versions had some options that are missing from this tablet that I miss such as the ability to make the app icons larger and 'icons with frames'. When doing a fresh install versus transferring data from an old device it gives you the option to not install some apps which saves time from having to find & delete later. Note that this tablet uses a USB-C connector on the tablet side which is the newest standard but uses the standard USB A rectangular connector on the charger side. Like me, your home charging station is probably becoming more crowded with a Micro USB, USB-C, Fitbit and lightning cables. You can buy adapters on eBay for a buck or 2 if you want to reduce the number of cables. I am not an anti-Apple person. I use an iPhone 13 but find the iPads to be too expensive and the user interface to be clunky and difficult to use compared to the Android tablet options.

I bought this for a gift for my mother so she coould use it to watch her ring doorbell camera, keep up with her Drs. appointments and also for the monitor she uses to allow the drs to watch her pacemaker as needed. She also uses it to work puzzles and word games to keep her mind sharp. It is fast and very easy to use. A tablet is much larger than a cell phone which she really enjoys. I would buy it again if I needed another one.

Purchased this tablet for my kids. I wanted something good but not too expensive. It runs great. They are able to download all their games and apps with no problem. The battery life seems to be really good.

I love it. Its processor is much faster than previous Galaxy tablets. I use it for my email, newspaper, TikTok, and major league baseball for now. Still exploring. I transferred all my apps from my Samsung phone. It also has great battery life. Easily connect your wireless ear buds or wireless headphones. You'll be really happy with your purchase. Picture is fantastic. Bought a cover for it for protection .

This A8 tablet is overall very good. I got myself a second one already. Theres a couple of things I noticed. In terms of color amd brightness I think my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10"1 is much better. Also I dont know if its only me or not, but when I tried the smart view feature on my tv appeared this message box where you can either deny to cast your A8 device on your tv, or if you want to mirror your tablet on your tv theres this 7 number pin you have to enter which you have 25 seconds to enter it. On my other Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1" you can mirror your tablet on your tv without entering any pin numbers. Im glad the A8 still has the dark mode feature and the force dark mode option. That way most if not all of your apps will be in dark mode. The size of the screen is simply great. The smartswitch app is also very helpful if you want to transfer data from another Samsung device. Battery life is also great I think I charged it a second time I think till almost the third day since I unpacked it. This device also doesnt include flashlight like Samsungs latest devices I dont know for what reason. Im also glad that this A8 device also has expandable storage via SD card. So far I liked this A8 tablet

just perfect, fast, big screen at excellent price. It is very simple to use and the instructions was easy to understand. The tablet exceeded my expectations because it has enough storage for all my needs, and it's big enough to watch movies and other numerous tasks

As a Samsung phone user, the tablet is the same as the phone. Easy and simple to use. It comes with a charger and a pin for your sd card slot. A great value for a first time tablet owner. I do LOVE there is a cloth material covering the whole entire 360 of the device to let you know that you're the first person to open it.

Bought this for a replacement for my 7" tablet. Runs super fast and easy to navigate. Love this tablet. Nice and thin. Not heavy at all. Would suggest this to anyone wanting a bigger tablet.

I've tried a lot of tablet brands, but always come back to Samsung. Build quality is much better, the stereo sound is amazing for a tablet and the OS is nicer than other brands. I was hoping the A8 was faster than the A7 or S6 lite models, but I really didnt notice huge improvement when using my everyday apps and games. The 10" display is a great size, I like it better than the 8" model, but sadly its not amoled. If you watch a lot of movies and games, then try Samsung, they focus on the finer details and you will get the most for your money. If you just need email and webbrowser, then maybe look for a cheaper brand.

Samsung has the best sound and picture Quality . Never had any issues . When charged it goes for a quite a long period. One of the best Tab with very reasonable price

I replaced my old Galaxy 2014 version this new A8. Couldn't be happier with the tablet and at a fantastic price. It does everything I wan it to do and more. The screen is awesome and performance is great. Setup was quick and easy, especially if you have a google account. The purchase also included 3 months of Sirius and trial of Trend Micro (I don't need as I already have Trend Micro). I can link it to my Windows PC or to my Android phone.

We love our Samsung Galaxy Tablets! This is a fast tablet for multitasking. The size is ample and perfectly portable. The screen is brilliant and clear. Stream your movie services, control your smart home devices, shop, bank, take photos, use for webex or zoom meetings, schoolwork, etc. We always buy the protection plan in case of those oops moments or in case something else goes wrong which is rare. I like that it has expandable memory. Always buy a screen protection and case that is also a stand. It will keep it looking like brand new and make it easier to use.

I previously owned the Galaxy Tab A7, and it was so impressive for a budget tablet. I regrettably sold it, so I picked up the newer A8 version. This tablet certainly does not disappoint, and it is snappier than the A7. The Unisoc processor is more powerful than the Qualcomm in the A7, and has superior single thread benchmark numbers. You will notice a difference in simple daily tasks. The screen has great resolution, but the colors are a little washed out. Do not hesitate if you are looking for a great tablet for very little money. Not everyone wants to spend over $500 for a media consumption device.
