It has a strong base when it sits in the landscape position, however, not so much in the portrait position. Many of the apps I use default to the portrait position. I wish I could stand the tablet up in this position.

I had orignally purchased a generic cover, and it did not work well at all. This cover fits properly and puts the tablet to sleep when it is closed. I am very pleased with it.
