It has been a struggle to find a tablet that does not overheat and can keep up on the video feed and produce a quality picture. The Tab 2 did that flawlessly and it has many other great apps too. I don't write reviews but I am so high on this tablet I am compelled to do so.

This tab is great for reading all my Nook Books or Kindle Books or even the books I check out electronically from the local library. The Super AMOLED touch screen and adaptive display technology are perfect for showing off pictures of my grandsons. It even takes pretty good photos. When I'm not using this versatile device, it is light weight and fits right into the large outside pocket of my purse so it's easy to carry with me all the time. This tab is just the right size!

I love my new tablet because it's small enough to carry around with me and big enough to see everything on the screen. It has great graphics and handles all activities I enjoy such as viewing pictures, watching videos, tv, & movies, surfing the Web, reading and writing emails, and reading books or literature. This is a great device!

Now that I have used this produce for a month or 2. I can honestly say it is a SOLID Step up from the original Tab s, and keeping the interface similar makes the user experience quite pleasant on leaning some knew features. CON - NO IR BLASTER

I don't have a computer in my bedroom and for years I have been using my Note-4 smartphone to do everything. This tablet has been a nice upgrade and I just love it. Surely the "professional" reviewers may have a few negative things to say about it, but heavy user like myself it does everything I want in a tablet. It is fast, light, very thin, and the screen is a high enough quality to give me very enjoyable video, but not so ridiculously high that it drains the battery. The WiFi is fast, A/C protocol, I also added a 128GB SD card for extra storage. It has a nice 32GB internal. I bought the black, though I doubt if that is the most popular color, I like the color because it doesn’t distract from the screen. I haven't used the camera that much, but it seems to be good. I mainly use this while in my bedroom to watch Netflix, to check email and to browse the internet, which this does well and without a hiccup. I also listen to a lot of audible books, and the speakers do this well, though I generally let a small Bluetooth speaker give me a little better sound. The Bluetooth connects and works well. I was able to get $50.00 off the regular price and I have seen it on sale for $100.00 off the regular $399.00 that it was going for when I purchased it.

This tablet has large amount of internal storage with its built in 32 gb of internal storage with the ability to add an additional 128 gb of external storage using a micro sd card. The apps runs smoothly with dual quad core processors and 3 gb of memory. Display is sharp and color is vibrant. Multi-tasking is a breeze with split screens apps running at the same time. It is light weight in your hands and holding on to it is easily grippable due to its thin bezel. It has a finger print reader so logging in is as easy as placing any finger or thumb on the reader. I have been testing it out for a week and I have not had any bugs while using it. Great tablet for the price of $299.00 on sale and works better than the iPad mini in terms of storage size, expandability and overall performance.

I love this tablet! Its design, and specifications quality of build are similar to the iPad air 2, at a lower price point . The richness of the color saturation with the Super AMOLED screen, which also has the same resolution and pixel density as the iPad air 2, is mesmerizing. The tablet is lightning fast, with its octa-core processor. It's lightweight, sleek and attractive. I like the fact that it has expandable memory via Micro SD card, which the Apple line of tablets does not offer. I am not dissing Apple. We use and love their products, as well. Android and iOS both have their merits and shortcomings, in my opinion. I would strongly recommend this beautiful tablet, which performs as good as it looks.

As a family we have had a few tablets and this by far is my favorite. I would edge this just ahead of an ipad and leagues ahead of my kids kindles. The unit is very light weight and has a brilliant resolution. I give it a charge once or twice a week with moderate use. It is very responsive and shows no signs of lagging.

I’ve owned this tablet for about 2 months now and it’s a great device. The highlights are the display and weight. It’s hard to really describe just how gorgeous the screen is. If you are watching a movie with the lights off, you’ll notice that when a scene goes dark, the room will go dark too. Compare that to any other tablet in which you can still see the backlight when a scene goes dark. This tablet can completely shut off pixels to create true blacks and that’s what makes the contrast/colors so vivid. In addition, the thing is almost shockingly light. Easy to take with you anywhere and you can hold it for hours with no issues. A few minor drawbacks: you have to use the included key or a paperclip to “eject” the SD card slot. Kind of like how you would open a CD drive if there was no power. The SD card slot is not spring loaded like a lot of other card slots on tablets. The bezel is also so small that when you hold it in portrait mode, it sometimes doesn’t register my thumb touches because my palm is also touching the screen. Finally, for those who care, the S2 doesn’t have stock Android. The Samsung skin isn’t bad and it’s pretty close to stock; plus you get some neat features like side-by-side multitasking.

Samsung has acheived an excellent balance in size vs quality! The S2 is thin and lightweight with a versatile size. Easy to handle and carry. As far as the inner workings, it is a step above the rest. The screen color, brightness, resolution and function are beyond excellent. The processor is extremely fast and has not wavered in its function using the android operating system. The camera may be the only weak point of this device, and it is far from weak! True, the megapixel number may not be overly impressive, but the photos are!!! the ability to store documents and pictures on a micro SD card is invaluable(up to 128 gb) as well as having 32 Gb of internal memory! This is a well thought out device with decent battery life! Samsung did its homework!

Traded up from my Galaxy Tab 3, 7" Amazing difference. With 8" HD screen, 32GB of memory (expandable), and quad Core processor, it meets all my needs and then so much more. It is thinner and lighter than previous models also. It is not loaded down with a bunch of pre-installed apps and junk as was it's predecessor, and it comes with Windows Office programs. There are plenty of freebies, but you choose what to download. I use it for work, home, and play: TV, movies, games, etc. So happy I "splurged" and got the latest model. This competes with Apple on all levels, as far as I am concerned. I would also highly recommend the Samsung Book cover. It is a bit pricey, but it is made by Samsung and is a great add-on, and you can do price meet/beat at many retailers.

Great tablet for games and travel without laptop

This tablet has been great. My first tablet was a cheaper model to see if I really wanted one. Once I started playing games I decided to get Samsung's current top of the line and bought it the day it came out (9/3/2015). Since then I have enjoyed hours on it. The color is great; the adjustable brightness is great; it lasts a long time on a charge; the 8-inch size is just right. 32 GB allowed me to download several games so I could play on my cruise where internet was not available. I use a stylus and find I like a stylus much better than my fingers! Because it has Microsoft Office, I don't even carry my laptop when I travel because the tablet does about all I would need from my laptop on a vacation. I wish it came in colors. I don't like to buy black all the time. My only 'problem' is that I like it too much. I can't seem to put it down!

I was looking for something to replace an iPad 2 and love the Samsung Galaxy S6 so this one caught my attention. Picked-up a 64 GB microSD card at the same time. PROS: Tablet setup was extremely easy out of the box and I've had zero problems in the first month. The Tab S2 is an incredible tablet. The screen resolution is incredible, as well as lightning fast speed, and stability. Bonus, MS OneDrive offered 100 GB when activated. Light weight. Camera takes very nice photos and video. CONS: While I like the idea of parental controls, if you use, don't expect the account to be able to use a gmail nor gmail/calendar apps as they are prohibited from use (while strangely Outlook was ok to install). It may be me or a setting I forgot but on my Galaxy S6 phone when I can double click the home button it brings up the camera but doesn't on this device. Hopefully this is only an ID10T error. While not a fault of the product, I wish Pinnacle Studio and Halftone apps were available for Android devices (like on the iPad).

This tablet has great battery life and a beautiful screen. It's pretty light and thin but has enough heft to feel solid and you feel like you have a premium grade tablet. There are two downsides to this tablet that are keeping it from being a full five stars. One is the lack options for cases and covers. There's not a lot of choices and Otterbox does not make a case for it although with a little googling you can find a comparable one. The next fault is the SD card functioning. While you can save pics, pdf files, music etc. And have apps access them for viewing none of the apps will save to the card. For example if you have a word document or a pdf file and you want to highlight a sentence or save notes the app will have to save it to the main 32 gig memory. It's kind of frustrating being that most people use the SD card to store all their media. As a side note I did end up "rooting" this tablet and now it saves to the SD card no problem. So as a rooted device I would give this 5 stars.

I am a gadget geek i love all thing tech. I have an iPad, iPhone, mac computers, Windows tower and tablet, but the one thing i was missing was an android tablet, after doing some research and looking at some of the other 8" android tablets i decided to go with the Tab S2, it was thin light weight, and was the closest 8" android tablet to the ipad mini which i was also considering. big props to Samsung for making touchwiz alot snappier. things i like most about this tablet are the screen, the Micro SD slot, the Finger Print reader, and the fact i can use it one handed with little struggle. things i would like to see changed on the next version, would be a flash for the camera, & some kind of ip rating, even if its just water resistant not water proof. all in all i recommend this to anyone looking for an 8" tablet that doesn't want an ipad mini.
