Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the Galaxy Tab S2 8" 32GB's excellent screen size, ease of use, and light weight as significant advantages. Positive feedback also highlights its battery life and performance, although some users mention concerns about the device's tendency to get warm and the sound quality of its speakers. The price point was also cited as a potential drawback by a few customers. While some experienced Wi-Fi connectivity issues, the overall user experience appears largely positive.

Save Money and Get The S2

The Tab S2 is an excellent tablet that will handle most you throw at it. I was interested in the Tab A initially but the screen resolution is higher on the S2. Its fast and slick and really thin. I just wish the speakers were a bit louder at full volume. In a semi noisy environment I recommend using headphones.

    Pretty nice size and picture.

Perfect size to hold in one hand (for me at least), picture quality is fantastic, operating speed is pretty quick, and looks and feels high quality. Some people don't like the aspect ratio for videos and movies, but I guess I'm just used to the black bars on top and bottom of the screen so it doesn't bother me.

Wheres the replacement/upgrade for this, Samsung?

Absolutely the best/most convenient tablet. The Best form-factor. Its ALWAYS in my pocket. Whats the use of having it if you cant USE it whenEVER you need? This is where this tablet shines. I just bought an ipad for the first time (maynot be apples to apples, but ALL ipads should have GPS. What nonsense that the wifi models dont have it) , and i realize WHAT a VALUE, my 4 year-old, shattered/cracked S2 8inch really is, in comparison :) Unbelievable longevity, utility. Yeah the battery is now dying, but hey its been 4 years of constant use. A++

I needed something I could hold in one hand and use "Splashtop" and "Zipgrade" in school. This tablet has awesome resolution and does what I wanted very well.

Very glitchy tablet just like Nexus 7

I've had Nexus 7s and I thought id try the Samsung Galaxy tab s2 to get away from the Nexus 7 glitchy headaches. I don't see this as a product that will last more than 2 years with all it shortfalls. After seven months more and more problems are piling up. It's loaded with Samsung useless bloatware . Think twice about blowing $400 on a $100 quality tablet. Pros; Great hd screen quality on movies TV shows Hangs on to wifi unlike Nexus 7 Swipe screen shot Cons; Battery drains way too fast for a 7 month old tablet Constantly needs charging Tinty speakers Fingerprint works a day perfect then crashes Tablet freezes regularly Some sites the video seems that it doesn't fit the screen properly and is distorted. If you charge it while using it it actual loses rather gains a charge

    Overhyped, Not the Best Screen

    Posted .

I first bought the Tab A 8 and wasn't impressed with the screen. Went and upgraded to this tablet (S2) two days later and have set it up to perfection. I've tried streaming videos on it on Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Youtube. Even adjusting the colours via "Display" under Settings, I still find the screen to have a green-ish tinge that is bothersome, the HD not looking so HD - even when all the apps are set to HD. There's something very over-saturated, yet washed-out about the screen, compared to my Moto X phone (2013), my Toshiba Laptop (2015), and Nexus 5X phone (2016)...all of which have much crisper, clearer displays compared to this one. I've watched many online reviews and read comments, and while the tablet is nice and smooth in action, the battery drops down rather quickly, the sound is tin-ny for a device with 2 speakers, and the price just doesn't warrant the product. Probably returning it for a Fire HD. Samsung screens are often hit/miss, from my experience.

Got this for my mom so that she could read her books on it and surf the web. Works great if you are only going to use it for web surfing and reading. Not sure how well it handles games.

    Overheating!!!!!

I bought this tablet yesterday and after charging it used it to download some apps. It was hot so I let it cool down. All I did was go on Facebook and it was too hot to even touch. This heat comes from the upper right area of the tablet on the backside. I went back to Best Buy and exchanged it hoping it was just mine. The new one did the exact same thing. Taking it back. This is the newer model which has a faster processor than the S2 8.0 710. Not sure if that is the problem but I cannot even hold it, it gets too hot.

I bought a Galaxy TabS2, and I really liked it in every way. After 3 weeks, it refused to boot past the Samsung screen. Exchanged it for another at BestBuy that lasted less than 2 weeks with the same issue. Returning it for refund. I don't want another!

Wrong aspect ratio for 8 inch

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Trying to find an OLED tablet to upgrade from my tab s 8.4. Unfortunately Samsung has gone the way of 4x3 aspect ratio which is idiotic for a handheld 8" tablet. Why? I can hold my s8.4 in one hand, watching movies or other content fills the full screen - no black bars, it fits in my jeans back pocket. Perfect for travel and portability. Samsung or other OLED manufacturer, please make a modern widescreen tablet again (and stop following Apple when it doesn't make sense).

    Biggest disappointment from Samsung ever.

What can I say? I have owned 8 or more Samsung tablets so far plus many more of their phones. I am a big Samsung fan, but man this unit and maybe the product line is a failure. It is crashes non stop. I have sent it in 4 times to samsung and it is getting worse each tine. Now it can't even do a factory reset successfully. I bought the 9.7 inch to use while the 8 inch goes back and forth to samsung. It also reboots without warning. I am running the same apps on my old note 4 and it does not crash. I have no hope that samsung will get the 8 inch unit fixed and they duck the issue of replacement. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PRODUCT LINE. IT IS NOT RELIABLE AND SAMSUNG DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ABLE TO OR CARE ENOUGH TO FIX IT. I will just keep sending it back to them. FYI I just got it back tonight. Right out of the box failed to do the factory reset. Very sad Samsung you are able to do better then this.

Purchased the Galaxy S2 9.7 to replace a 4 year old Motorola 10 inch tablet. After using the Samsung for a couple of days I am disappointed in the performance of the product. I think the price of this tablet should be closer to $75.00 and not $399.00. The apps are slow to open and the touch screen has a bit of lag to it. The speakers are poorly placed and the sound quality is extremely bad...very tinny. I will be returning this tablet to Best Buy this weekend.

    Samsung tablets

If I could give less than 1 star I would DO NOT waste your money on any Samsung tablets They are really poorly made, if you can use it at all they go into loop mode turn on and off multiple times. Sent back to Samsung and they "repaired" it, which means I still have the same problems -- waste of money. I would note the tablet is only 8 months old. When the problems started it was in the first month and nothing has changed even with their "repair". Buy something other than Samsung--
