I bought this tablet yesterday - 2016 model (SM-T713 - less expensive, better processor and should provide improved battery life over 2015 model). I am thrilled enough with this tablet to take time to write a review. The screen clarity is stunning - terrific resolution, color and brightness, and color and brightness can be adjusted to personal taste. It is just the right size for portability and reading, e-mail, web surfing, texting (yes, you can send/receive texts from it with an app such as "mysms" available via the Google Play store). This tablet is thin, fast, light and nicely designed. I love the fingerprint reader! I was surprised by how well it works (as well as on an iPad Mini 3). The 4:3 aspect ratio of this tablet is really preferable when doing everything but watching movies, and movies still look beautiful on it. You just get the letterbox effect with widescreen movies (black lines above and below), which is a compromise for movie watching but not a deal breaker. It runs the latest Android operating system (provides better battery life and is current for now) and supports dual band wireless ac (fastest WiFi). It works great on my fast 5GHz WiFi network unlike my other two tablets. I feel that this tablet is perfect in every way for my needs except the speaker volume is too low and somewhat tinny sounding for my taste. The workaround is to connect a bluetooth speaker or use headphones when volume and sound quality are important. Other than the sound being lower than I would like, I have nothing negative to say about it. It doesn't claim to support Miracast, a connectivity method I prefer since that creates its own WiFi network between two devices and doesn't require an Internet connection. That is especially convenient when in a hotel and watching a movie on the TV that has been downloaded to the tablet. I will test that, but various other options are available that allow the tablet to connect to a TV, projector or other device. That is not a deal breaker either (and it might work). Choosing a tablet is really very subjective, but this is as close to perfect as they come for my intended purposes. It should be a reliable, quality product that provides a lot of use and enjoyment.

This is one of the best tablets I've ever owned. From the build quality to Android functionality, it's great. The tablet is incredibly thin and lightweight but doesn't feel cheaply made. The 4.3 aspect ratio of the screen is great for anyone considering transitioning from an iPad. The power, volume, and home buttons are easy to press. The back of the tablet is slightly rubberized to that it doesn't slip out of your hands. The screen bezel is very thin so the display area is maximized. The screen itself is great. Very bright, produces vivid colors, and is great for watching HD videos on NetFlix or YouTube. Game play is good as well. The octa-core Exynos processor seems to be handling games (Asphalt 8 and Carrier Landings Pro) just fine. Android Marshmallow (v.6) runs very smooth with no lag. Android 6 supports multi tasking through split screen but not all apps are supported. I usually root my tablets and install custom firmware, but this table runs Android M so well there really isn't any need. I've been running the tablet for about 2 months now and I haven't run into any app force close issues. If you're looking for a tablet that is fast, stable, thin, and lightweight, the Samsung Tab S2 fits the bill.

I recently switched to Android products after being a fan of the "other" company for years. I now have an android phone and this tablet was my first Android tablet and I love it. I was worried about learning a new operating system but my fears were easily waylaid after just a few days with this tablet. The eight inch screen is just right for me and is crystal clear and bright. It's also very light and easy to handle. It works like a charm and I've had no problems with it. I only get about two days of battery life out of it which is a lot less than my old tablet from the "other" company but then I'm almost constantly using it so it was to be expected. The best thing about a Samsung tablet (as well as their phone) is the fact that even though the internal memory isn't that big (32 or 64 GB), you can add a large capacity MicroSD card that increases the memory greatly. This is much cheaper than paying an extra $100 for every step up in memory with the products from the "other" company. It also makes the tablets and phones cheaper in price. I'm just sorry I waited so long to wise up and go the Android route.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 is an excellent tablet that is built very well and performs great. The screen is captivating and it's weight makes it a pleasure to hold. I can say after a month of heavy use the tab s2 is still extremely fast and fluid running Android 6.0.1. There are only two problems I have with the tablet. First and biggest issue is the sound. It has only one speaker that is weak and underpowered, at least in comparison to the ipad mini 4. I believe all tablets should have two front facing speakers. It just works best and doesn't seem to difficult or expensive to do. The second and only other gripe I have is although I like holding it because of it's size and weight it's bezel isn't as rounded as the ipad mini 4 and it bothers my hand when holding it certain ways. Overall I think this is a great tablet and would highly recommend it.

I was going back and forth as to whether I wanted a iPad Mini4 or this tab s2. I wanted something that could replace my kindle for reading but do more than a kindle is capable of. Whenever I used my kindle for anything other than reading, it reminded me of how bad Amazon's owe android version is and I wanted a device with good android or full apple. I could not get the deal I wanted on the ipad so I jumped on the savings I was going to get on this Samsung. I love it. It has been a great experience and is very responsive. I have only played a few games but it works well and does not seem to stall out or show signs of hiccups that sometimes happens with these devices if they cannot keep up with the graphics requirements. I would recommend this device to others.

My iPad 3 was getting unbearably slow, so I bought the Galaxy tab S2 to replace it. The performance is perfect, no more delays, and the OLED screen is amazing - reason enough to buy it. This tablet is incredibly thin and light, even with the matching case. You won't even notice it in your bag. The 8" screen works much better than a 7" screen for viewing websites due to the more square aspect ratio. There is almost no advantage when watching movies, however, because the 7" screen is more of a wide screen, so the 8" just displays black bars above/below the movie. Android also has advantages over iOS, like a back button, a button that allows you to swap between apps without double clicking the home button, and a keyboard that contains letters and numbers at the same time - much easier for typing passwords! The only downside for me is that the battery life on the Galaxy Tab S2 does not reach Samsung's spec. It does, however, still last longer than I should be playing on a tablet on any given day.

As far as tablets are concerned, I've only had IPads. While I really enjoy my IPad, it does lack in some areas. For starters, the expandable memory slot for an SD card. This is probably one of the best features compared to the IPad. Even if your trying to save a few $$$, you can buy a 32 gig Samsung and add a 256 gig SD card for extra storage. Another great feature of this Samsung S2 is the ability to connect to you computer to transfer files, photos, etc. easily. With Apple, I find their software difficult to navigate and not as flexible as the Samsung interface. We bought this S2 for a young man for a graduation gift. He really loved it and thanks us every time we see him! But I did learn one thing with all the research I did before deciding between the Apple IPad and the Samsung S2, that I was really impressed with the Samsung features and flexibility, when we need to replace our Apple devices, we will be buying Samsung. Great product.

I decided to go with the S2 after my three year old iPad Air 2's battery began to die. I've had iPads and iPhones forever now and have become tired with OS10. Right off the bay, I'm blown away by the crisp OLED display. Blacks look amazing with none of the blotching that I've seen on some OLEDs. Text is sharp and colors pop. Even tiny text is easy to read. The 8" size is perfect. It's about the size and shape of the iPad mini but thinner and lighter. I'm not a fan of the rubberized back, but it's in a case, so no problem. The speakers are on one end, so they aren't very loud unless you cup your hand to redirect the sound toward you. Performance is amazing, thanks to an 8-core processor and 3GB of ram. It was running Marshmallow out of the box. Samsung is not known for their quick updates, so I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll probably never see Android N on here and will be happily surprised if it happens.

I love this tablet. Right size for me. I am able to carry it in my purse. It has a really great screen and resolution. I love the gold color on the border, makes the screen seem even bigger. I downloaded the GPS app and maps for the states I am traveling in. The GPS works beautifully. I did not upgrade the app for voice directions yet as I have a Garmin in the car. I plan to travel to Scotland and Ireland and wanted to have the streets of the major cities at hand. The WiFi connects without a problem both at home and away from home. The battery could last longer. It lasts about 5 hours for me. Bottom line, I could not have been happier with my this purchase. I did not get the cover that Best Buy was selling as it had major problems. I did order one from Walmart that fit perfectly and at a great price. I bought a 128 GB SD card and now have a ton of memory.

This is an outstanding Tablet, I purchased the first Tablet for my wife on her Birthday in April. The speed and quality of the table was impressive, it was so impressive that I purchased a second Samsung - Galaxy Tab S2 - 8" - 32GB – Black for my daughter’s Birthday in July! I wish Samsung had more options for the matching cover it would be nice to have more options, let’s say pink. The 8” is the perfect size for ease of use. I purchased a 64 GB Micro SD Card and if need be I can upgrade the Micro SD to 128 GB. You can pay less for a Tablet but you will not receive the Quality or Dependability of the Samsung - Galaxy Tab S2!

Let me say this 1st: I'm thankful to have Samsung reps at the store I shop at, those guys at the Columbia, MD store know their product. But let me get to the facts. I've always wanted a Tablet by Samsung to test it out, work on assignments through email, whether it'd be excel reports, PDF files, and article annotating. I use this tablet for both personal/work purposes. The panel is what really gives this Tab S2 more time from me than what my Surface Pro does. I make that reminder to everyone even when I'm on the Sales floor. Battery life is well, I can go 3 days without having to recharge. The model I got must've been a defect, or it's noticing when I throw too much at it, since the moment I get into Adobe Photoshop Express and really start manipulating images, the tablet restarts itself. Must be a Smart power thing, so I didn't pay it any mind. Love it!

I had a 10" Samsung tablet, and it was great, but time for a new one. After researching the reviews/ratings on the BB website, I decided on this one. I've only had it a few days and haven't had much time to thoroughly explore this tablet, but so far, very pleased. My old tablet was substantially bigger (and heavier) than this one, and I thought that the smaller size might be too small - however, after comparing the old with the new size-wise, I made the right choice. That extra 10 or so ounces makes a huge difference when you think about lugging it in your purse or backpack. From the few videos I've displayed on this one, great video quality and sound. I think I'll be very happy with this choice and would recommend it. Samsung makes a good product - my old tablet is still working fine, and is at least 4 years old.

Great tablet but problem with border

I loved this tablet. Fast, screen size is great for me, colors are vibrant. The sound was ok for me. The problem I had was the black tablet has black all around the screen. This tablet is a 4:3 ratio on movies so you are in letter box all the time with no way to make it bigger. The letter box has black at the top and bottom. This combined with the black border had the picture floating in a sea of black, which made the picture seem even smaller. This may work for younger eyes but for older people it was not good. I exchanged the tablet for the gold one. Gold around the outside edge with black above and below the picture is much better. Would definitely recommend the tablet but beware that the color of the tablet will either make or break the way you see the movies/videos. Love the way you can raise the 32 gb to an additional 128 gb easily with micro sd slot.

The S2 is my first android tablet, and I have been very impressed. The tablet has a wonderful clear display, while the build quality feels substantial despite the tablet being quite thin and light. 32 GB of memory is plenty for most of the apps I install. I did pick up a micro SD card to store music and other files. Some apps cannot be installed on micro SD in android devices, so it is better to store pictures, videos, music there and leave the internal memory for apps. The processing power is good enough to meet my needs. While not as powerful as a more expensive Pixel tablet, the S2 runs Hearthstone just fine. Occasionally, when a great deal of card animations are on the screen, there is some slowdown, but the experience is quite playable. Overall, I am pleased!

Having been impressed by my Samsung phone's abilities and bored with my iPad I decided to give this a try. It is a bit smaller, more like an iPad mini, but the screen is very vibrant and detailed. Great for Youtube. I like how light the Tab is and the slightly grippy back. I'd like it if Samsung gave access to the Theme Store from the Tab but as a workaround I use Nova Launcher Pro and Samsung's Good Luck for a custom look. It processes quickly and I can jump back and forth between apps quickly with no lagging. The camera isn't real strong and truthfully I wouldn't mind if there was no camera but sometimes it helps to take a pic of a list, a set of instructions, a label, etc. I just move all my phone pictures to the Tab for storage and a bigger screen to look at them.

I had an iPad Air that I had been using for a few years but wanted something smaller/lighter to take when I travel as the iPad, with it's case, was still a bit bulky/heavy for what I wanted when flying. After looking at non-Apple options, I quickly came to Samsung. Wanting a good quality screen, the Tab S seemed like a good option. So far I've been very pleased with it. The Super AMOLED screen is great, giving a very nice HD viewing experience. The processor is fast, showing no lag when launching apps or running them. Internet connectivity seems great as well. Love the thin and lightweight design. I slip it into a neoprene sleeve and put it in my briefcase and it adds no real bulk or weight. Been using if for a few weeks and I am very pleased.

I was hesitant because of the the higher price...I bought it, returned it and purchased a lesser model to see what the differences truly were for the price (this being $399 and the lower model $169). The difference in performance is amazing!!! I like to play games online. The lesser expensive tablet was noticeably slower. I like the fingerprint sensor for logging in (instead of a pin to unlock) but it's VERY sensitive and often I have failed too long in this way. It's definitely operator error. As long as your finger is straight and completely covering the button logging on is a breeze. I'm still discovering all those little things. I'm very pleased with this purchased. It was worth all the running around and returning and buying...and returning.

So after having this almost a year I'm just getting to writing a review. I love it, I teach art and design and needed something more mobile to take care of tasks like attendance or student notes, or even just taking a quick picture of a student working, or student work. I chose it for the improved level of security, as well as processor speed. I take it to all my staff meetings and parent teacher conferences where I can easily pull up student info on the fly. I went with the smaller model because it is light weight and will fit in the pocket of cargo pants. I ended up spending more on it than I went in planning on spending, but it had everything I wanted plus a great display.

This is a very fine tablet. I have a TabS 8.4 inch and this is by far a better tablet. The screen is amazing and very fast. Perfect portable size for reading and using. Expandable and just a joy to use. It has some very nice software such as Microsoft Office. Get the matching cover as it fits nicely. If you are looking for an excellent tablet, make sure you check this one out. Very high quality / well made. Make sure you get it on sale as it does go on sale from time to time. 8 core processor with 3 GB ram. Check this one out if you are looking for a better tablet.

The Galaxy S2 9.7" is an excellent all around tablet. It's new 4:3 aspect ratio screen is the same as the Ipads. While it may not be quite as good as the more traditional 16x9 tablets for video clips and movies, it is certainly not a major downgrade. Where it excels is browsing and reading web sites and apps from various news media sources. The new screen displays full pages more naturally than the 16x9 screens do. It is worth the small compromise in watching videos. The screen is, typical of Samsungs, bright and beautiful and its processor is very fast. It will tale up to a 128 GB SD card so running out of storage space in not an issue. All in all this is worthwhile purchase.
