Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the Galaxy Tab S3's impressive screen quality, ease of use, and long battery life as significant strengths. The included S Pen and lightweight design also receive considerable praise. However, some customers find the price to be a drawback, and a few express concern about the limited storage capacity. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the negative comments.

Who Needs a Laptop (for smaller jobs)

I purchased the Galaxy S3 tablet for my daughter. She had always used an Ipad that her school district provided, but wanted something that was Android like her phone. She's used the S3 now for about two weeks and loves the combination of portability, multi-tasking, and the ability to take notes on the screen with the included S pen. I also got her the keyboard cover with the POGO connectors so she could use it like a small laptop. She finds that it is great for smaller jobs such as taking notes and has found battery life to be about 8 hours. I like the fact that you can get this tablet on sale for a significant discount with an included pen. So far it has been an excellent purchase. Pros: screen resolution and quality; S pen included; battery life, and; micro sd slot to expand storage up to 256 gb. Cons: not all android apps optimized for tablets and price when not on saie.

    High End Android Tablet

I recently received a Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 to review. This unit came with an S-Pen and a Samsung Keyboard/Cover. Opening the box to a glass covered 9.7 inch Android Tablet with specs that deliver was such a pleasure. I have owned several of the lower end Android tablets, so comparing this to them really is like comparing apples to oranges. Starting with it's 4 Gig of ram, you can launch application after application, and switch tasks, and there is absolutely no lag. It's Snapdragon 820 processor is ready at attention to go, when you need the horsepower. This unit is my first Android tablet to have 32 Gigs of memory, which allows me to install pretty much any application I want without worrying about the storage. It also allows for an additional Micro SD Card up to 256 Gb. If you are into using tablets to snap still shots or videos, Samsung did not forget you with this tab S3. It's front camera is a 5 megapixel sensor and it's back camera is a 13 megapixel sensor, and from just playing around with it a little, the captured images and video are outstanding. Now onto some pros and cons as I found them during my typical use of this device for a week. Keyboard - This unit came with it's Samsung Keyboard Case in Gray. Upon first use, I was afraid it might be too small. But after getting my bear-paw/hand acclimated to it. It is very comfortable to type. I had to adjust how far I reached with my left fingers, each time I went to type a W, I touched the screen, thus disabling the keyboard and looking for more input from the touch screen. But once my reach remained within the keyboards playing field, it has been a pleasure use. I did find one slight caveat, I noticed that when using the physical keyboard, it would not do predictive text or offer spell check. I did some poking around, with this unit being brand new on the market, and in pre-order status, I did not find an isolated resolution. If I am missing a setting please enlighten me and comment with the "Samsung Solution". I did find a work around that works really well. I wish I would have saved the blog that I found it on, so I could give credit where credit is due. Anyways, I downloaded SwiftKey for an additional keyboard, which allows enabling spell checker/predictive text on a physical keyboard. I am pleased to say, I may stick with this work around, due to it working so well. The predictive text appears at the bottom of the screen, within reach of my fingers, so as the choices came up, I can quickly tap them without having to re-home my fingers on the keyboard. I actually appreciate it not being a Bluetooth device, leaving all of it's juice for it's robust processor and beautiful screen. It obtains its connection via a well designed pogo connector at the base of the tablet, and stays attached quite well with some strong magnets. This accessory is an added expense, but I think it is totally worth it if you are looking to make this a portable machine, much like a Chromebook. S-Pen - This unit comes with the S-Pen and is pretty self explanatory, with the ability to sketch, draw, write or use it as a pointer. If you download an app from Google called Google Hand Writing Input: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.handwriting.ime You can easily use the S-Pen for every input you do. It's pretty neat, I just don't know if it is completely efficient. Usb-c Charger - This unit is yet another device being powered/charged by a USB type C cable, which offers to top off it's 6000 Milliampere hour battery in rapid fashion. Screen - It's 9.7 inch screen is relatively comfortable size for both tablet use and pc use (with keyboard) even while on your lap. It is very crisp and clear with precise auto brightness function. Some tablets really don't utilize auto brightness very well. I think Samsung got it right this time around.

After researching several tablets this one was rated the highest. I'm not an mac user so this was the best as far as android systems go. Fast response no waiting for program responses. I did not purchase the portable keyboard but plan on going back to get it. Screen is bright and perfect size. Very light weight. I was disappointed that Best Buy did not have the cover at time of purchase so had purchase through Amazon. I gave it a 5 star. Also was able to download the Kindle app to get my books moved over.

The samsung galaxy tab S3 is a premium tablet competing with the Google Pixel C and the I-Pad pro. With the same price tag it is able to hold its own with its competitors and sometimes even surpassing them. It runs running Android Nougat out of the box with guaranteed Samsung support for the next version of Android as well. The Tab S3 has a Qualcomm 820 processor, comes in only a 32GB version ( A flaw, should be a 64GB version as well), and includes a nice little pen for drawing on its admittedly vibrant AMOLED display. Samsung charges $130 for a keyboard and cover with chiclet style keys that are much more satisfying to type on. Usually you can find a deal if you buy both together and I recommend buying the keyboard because that way you can get the most out of your tablet. Though each key is just small enough and placed just oddly enough that I had to double triple quadruple spell check this review while using it. The keyboard is not backlit and provides only one viewing angle. Also for some very odd reason the back cover does not have a camera hole in it ! Android as an operating system really doesn’t work in a tablet form. Only a smattering of apps is actually optimized for the landscape mode we use tablets in. The OS has long been for phones first and tablets a distant, distant second. So being able to write up this review or tweak photos on the tablet was a pleasant surprise. Yet if you want an actual laptop-like experience from Android you’re better off going with a Chromebook instead—as those are at least crafted with productivity as a focus instead of as a convenient bonus. The big problem with the Galaxy Tabs S3 is that it is meant to exist in the same odd place as the iPad Pro. While it can help you crank out an email, or draw some nice comic art, it primarily exists to consume media, not create it. That’s why the 2,048 x 1,536 display supports HDR. The Galaxy Tab S3 is, at its core, a supplemental computing device built for an audience who dont want to replace their Laptops for it.. This isn’t for business use, or as a primary device for students, or a necessity for artists. It's a pure luxury item Samsung . It’s what you buy because you’re tired of a computer on your lap while you watch TV or you want something light to carry on the plane for your next trip out of town. I think the primary uses for it will be watching movies and playing games.

This is till now the best Android Tablet created which can actually challenge IPAD Pro series. With Snapdragon 820 and 4GB Ram, the tablet is blazing fast and you won't find any lag while playing games and switching between multiple apps. The HDR 10 Bit display is joy to watch and Amazon prime, Netflix now support HDR streaming on this particular tablet. The Video quality is stunning while watching HDR Video and you will instantly notice the difference when comparing it with a similar resolution screen without HDR. The 4x AKG Speakers are loud enough for watching videos and provide good audio experience. For Productivity, the full s-Pen feature support and included S-Pen is an added bonus as you don't need to spend extra $50 for buying one. For Note taking, Drawing, the pen works flawlessly. Also Samsung's own Galaxy App Store provides lots of Productivity apps optimized for this Tablet. If you get the Keyboard case from Samsung then you can get a very decent alternate device to complement your bulky laptop. The tab is also very light to hold in one hand for long time. Now with the reduced price of $499 or even less for the Open Box one in Best Buy, this is the best alternative to an iPad pro 9.7" model.

So happy that I waited for this new tablet. Colors are vibrant, speed is fast, weight is perfect., and sounds are terrific. It isn't something I would do letters or spreadsheets on, but for everyday relaxing it is perfect. It is the perfect size to carry around to use for those times when you are waiting for an appointment when the phone is just too small. No longer taking laptop and kindle on vacation, just need this tablet for research and reading. Battery lasts a couple of days and if necessary, I can adjust power demands so I can get 4-5 days out of it. Great tablet and very good price.

I've been eyeing this tablet since it came out, wanting to replace my aging S2 8.0. I kept seeing this at my Best Buy but didn't want to pull the trigger on a $600 tablet without a case or keyboard. Then the S4 came out and I didn't want a 10 inch tablet. So, I bought the S3 on sale during Black Friday and had a few weeks to use it. I was underwhelmed by it. I won't get into too much of the specs of the S3, but my overall experience with it. Pros: - The screen quality. The colors are vibrant and makes it enjoyable to use when streaming or surfing the web. the 2048x1536 screen resolution looks amazing. - Size. I liked the 9.7 size. It feels really good in my hands, as compared to the S2 8.0 I previously had. It compares really well to the iPad's size and makes it an enjoyable reading experience (either ebooks or the web). -S Pen. This comes standard with the S3 and S4. I like the size and feel of the pen, but at times it feels too small for me. -Performance. This is one fast and snappy device. 4GB or RAM makes a big difference. Cons: -Glass back. The S2 had a rubbery matte back which was easy to grip. The S3 uses an all glass back which petrifies me. It not only attracts fingerprints, but it can be slippery. Because it is glass, it makes the device on the heavier end. -Accessories. Mainly talking about the Samsung Folio case and Folio Keyboard cases. As mentioned earlier, the back is glass so YOU NEED to have some sort of protection. I purchased the Folio case by Samsung and it attaches magnetically to the S3. Magnetically? Yes. Which means it CAN and WILL fall off at some point if you handle it wrong. Why in their right mind would decide on glass? The S2 had 2 prongs to attach the case to which felt secure. This is my main issue with the S3. You are paying so much for this device that has the high potential of shattering in your hands. -Hard Drive size: at only 32 GB's, your space fills up really fast. even through I installed a 256GB microsd card, not every app was able to download onto. My comics on the comixology app did not transfer over, nor my books from kindle. Those used up so much space. At least with the Fire tablets, most of the apps can downloard onto the sd card. -Battery life: They state 12hours for video playback. I was averaging around 9. My battery drained pretty fast compared to my old iPad Air 2. It also got hot when I would go on the web. Overall, I really wanted to like the S3. But I realized that I can get the same experience using lower end and cheaper options like the Kindle Fire. Yes, you would have to modify them to get the Goodle experience, but at the price you pay for the S3 was not worth it for me. Besides my cons, this tablet works amazingly. Just be careful and not drop it!

Screen: 10/10 flawless. Performance: 9/10. The only tablet that outperforms it is the ipad pro, I admit, but not by much. Battery life: 8/10 the ipad pro got slightly better battery life while web browsing, but the S3 is much better while watching videos. Speakers: 8/10. Again the ipad pro got fuller/louder speakers, but this tablet's speakers are plenty loud and excellent for watching videos. Looks: 10/10. Probably the best looking tablet ever, but to be honest I'm not a fan of the glass back because it makes the tablet much more fragile. (Just avoid cases that connects by a magnet only) S-pen: 10/10. It beats the apple pencil in everything. 1- The tip is much better, 0.7 mm and 4000 levels of pressure sensitivity. 2- No charging required. 3- No bluetooth connection required. 4- It's 100% free. Operating system: 10/10. Highly customizable, easy to use, very easy to add stuff from your PC (much easier then iOS) and Samsung's current UI is much better then previous ones. Overall this is probably the best tablet out there, at least for me.

Nothing compares to this tablet. The speed, the reliability, and the battery life are all top notch. The akg sound on it is so awesome I don't always want to have to use headphones in public. I watched 5 movies streaming in one day and only got down to 50 percent battery. The pen usage is also amazing and very accurate. Drawing, writing, and coloring are just like the real thing. I can't say enough about this tablet.

This was in the open box cage for half price. After opening it I realized it had never been removed from the protective easy to rip styrofoam sleeve. If is an awesome tablet and I would've paid full price for it. Fast, clear beautiful screen and the stylus came with it. I never have to charge the stylus unlike my apple pencil and it's better than my iPad pro.

PRO; Samsung S3 TAB is a major upgrade from the Galaxy Note 8 that I'm replacing. Everything about the S3 TAB seems to be a major upgrade and speed is the first I noticed. No longer waiting on apps to take 30-45 sec to open. The camera takes wonderful pics also. Finally, the upgraded screen is a game changer. Everything looks so crisp and vivid on the new TAB S3. Would definitely recommend to a friend. CON: Very pricey a TAB. Compares to a computer in price. FINAL ASSESSMENT: Overall very happy with the performance of tablet and it does everything I need it to do!

This is cureently one of the best Android tablets in the market as of 2017. Snapgragon 820 is snappy and fast for this tablet. Wish they would have included the Snapdragon 835 here but I am still ok with the 820. Other thing Iove is the overall feel & look of the tablet. This compares right up with the Apple Ipad Pro. The screen is great & the glass cover makes it luxorious. I got the the Samsung Keyboard bookcover with it & it works great with the tablet. Actually I am typing thi s review with the keyboard. Overall Iam very happy. Set for a few years at least.
