Not bad, but design flow ruined it

I was looking for good android tablet. For the right price S5E is a very capable tablet. Surprisingly fast. Not the fastest , but still very smooth. What makes this tablet bad is awful software. Almost zero apps are optimized for the tablet. Considering that Google is abandoning tablet support in next release of Android the future of this tablet is unknown. Developers are reluctant to support tablets. Even most popular apps like Facebook,Twitter and Linkedin look bad and work bad. DEX is excellent idea and works very good. I was able to connect to my 4K monitor and using BT keyboard and mouse you are getting desktop like experience. Again, not all apps are optimized for DEX too. Linux on DEX for me looks like gimmick. It is full Linux experience , but some stuff do not work properly. Hope this will be fixed. Pros: * Excellent build quality * Light * Superior screen * Excellent speakers * Battery life is super Cons: * Big design flow! Holding table in landscape mode will force WiFi to disconnect! Nothing can fix it. Saying that "You are holding it wrong" is not a fix! Unfortunately I am returning this tablet exactly because of this flow. * Zero optimized apps for tablets. If you want to live with awful experience then you can buy it, but I highly recommend to buy Apple iPad and get maximum experience of tablet. * "Dark" future :)

This is my 2nd Samsung Tablet I have ever owned. The 2st one was a Samsung Tab A (T-350). That was purchased 2nd hand and way too slow. Wanted a higher quality, more up to date in specs, and faster running tablet. Looked around and compared specs and prices and set my mind on this one. Didn't pay too much money for the latest and I have no problems with that. It has enough storage, runs well. Looks really nice, especially the screen. It's nearly bezel-less. I definitely recommend this device.

This is one of the best tablets out there in the market. For the price, you get a really nice and colorful display that really "pops" out and really good speakers that isn't backfiring. I did use Huawei's line of tablets (in particular the M3 8.4 and M5 10.8) and with what is happening to them as a company made me switch to this. While this is a bit more expensive than what they offer, this is the better choice. You are definitely going to receive at least security updates and a more polished device that is easier to use and actually acts like a tablet and not a giant phone. Battery life is a lot better than the Mediapad M5 as well as the screen and speakers like I mentioned earlier.

This is amazingly thin it's also very quick and responsive I would definitely recommend getting the higher in the model with 128 gigs of storage because then you also get 6 gigabytes of RAM which makes a big difference when multitasking what you tend to do a lot on a tablet a lot of reviews of pointed out there is a Wi-Fi issue and it is a design flaw if you grip the bottom left corner completely and closing it with your hand you will drop or completely lose signal but you have to have your hand right on the corner and holding it tight so if you're going to play a game with it where that's exactly the way you're going to hold it every single time then don't buy it if you're going to use it like a normal tablet you should be just fine I have had no issues whatsoever but I have replicated that issue but I just don't see it being a big a deal as people want to make it out to be if I notice any other issues I'll make amends do the review

Preodered the black 128GB version and picked it up on release date along with the keyboard cover. Setup went smooth without any problems, the tab is quite fast and the screen is very good with great colors, everything is very readable, no light bleed on the edges. The keyboard cover fits perfect and I am using Android Pie only in Dex-mode, feels like a desktop computer now. Looks like it was a GREAT buy!

An Excellent Tablet with Minor Weaknesses

I replaced my 4-and-a-half -year-old Samsung Tab A -8" (2016 model) with the Samsung-Galaxy Tab S5e-10.5"-128GB-Silver (2019 model) about 1 month ago. Although I really liked the Tab A, the improvements that the Tab S5e has made it worth the added expense. The second day that I had the Tab s5e, it upgraded the OS from Android 9 to Android 10 with very little effort on my part. The screen images and text are both spectacular whether you are viewing video, pictures, or manuscripts, and when listening to music and dialogue through the tablet's 4 speakers, or on a Bluetooth speakers, headphones or earbuds. In addition, there are many settings that I use to personalize screen and sound characteristics. The apps-transferring process was easy and the apps open and close quickly on the Tab s5e. The only weaknesses that bother me (so far) is the loss of wifi contact when I rotate the screen from portrait to landscape mode. This does not happen every time, but appears to happen only when I grasp the edge of the screen in certain places. In addition, the finger-print wake-up only works about 10% of the time, and the face-recognition wake-up works about 25% of the time. I need to work on rescanning those images to improve performance. The PIN works every time. Especially with discounted prices now available, this is a good investment compared to the Tab s6-lite which is more expensive and has lower resolution screen and weaker speakers.

Massive upgrade over my Tab S2. My primary use is media consumption (Netflix, Hulu, youtube etc) so there was no need to go for the more expensive Tab S6. TV shows and movies look their best on the AMOLED screen. I wish it had a 3.5mm headphone jack. I have to use the included adapter for late night viewing and then make sure i don't misplace it.

I absolutely love this tablet. I've seen most Android tablets as novelties, but this one was really handy. The screen is sharp, and it's incredibly lightweight. The processor and RAM is a little lacking, so I don't recommend using too many apps at once. The fingerprint sensor is located on the right side and it's incredibly quick. The battery charges pretty quickly and can easily last all day. Great buy if you're looking for an inexpensive, but powerful tablet.

Pros: processor has more than enough computing power for an Android tablet, 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage, very light and compact for a 10.5" tablet, great all-metal case, OLED screen, screen ratio 16:10 is perfect for TV or media streaming, DeX mode allows desktop experience. The only Con to me is that it's still a bit pricey, especially when not on sale.

Was looking for good; speed, storage, size, able to handle multiple things, for watching movies or you tube etc and this has accomplish it all. Only thing I wish is it had a pencil and capability for at work but if yeah they have one it's just more expensive so considering everything I got most of what I wanted for a great price !

The purpose for acquiring this tablet is for it to serve as a replacement travel computer. It seems that wifi at hotels lately is more readily accessible as a phone than as a windows computer. Originally, I was going to purchase the 64gb version, but I saw this 128gb version in the Open Box category, rated in Excellent condition. It truly was, as though the original customer didn't even bother to unpack it. Thus I was able to acquire the 128gb version for less than a new 64gb model. Performance wise, the tablet is meeting or exceeding my expectations after a week of use. The wifi performance seems adequate. I have not experienced dropouts experienced by others unless I go outside about 100 feet from my router. While not wanting to boast, we have a robust wifi infrastructure inside the house, so I was testing the range from outside, and it is generally comparable to my phone. Perhaps Samsung has modified this model, or the 128gb version may have a better internal antenna. The true test will be on our next trip when we will be subject to a given hotel's wifi infrastructure. Yes, this model has no headphone jack, but a USB C to 3.5mm stereo headphone adapter is included, and it works great. The audio is present as fast as if it had been a regular headphone jack on the unit, and the audio quality through this adapter is great. Unfortunately, the adapter doesn't seem to work through a USB C hub, but I had to use a USB A to USB C adapter in the hub, which probably broke the protocol. I'm guessing that a USB C hub with USB C jacks instead of USB A will resolve this problem. Fortunately, the bluetooth interface allows use of my headsets or external speakers, and that works very well. It is a bit finicky with regards to bluetooth mice. I have three, and so far it only pairs up with my HP4000. The foregoing describes all issues I have encountered with this tablet. Performance of the tablet itself is outstanding, as others have stated in their reviews. I can wholeheartedly recommend this tablet in general, and Best Buy's "Excellent" rating when it comes to Open Box condition and availability.

If you want a device for only watching movies and surfing the web then the s5e is perfect---screen/ speakers are great. It's ok for lite gaming but more then that the processor doesn't keep up. I didn't get a keyboard to go with it so I can't comment on that.

I got this for Father's Day as a gift. There are only three things I don't like about this product, the rest of it is great! 1. It has no 3.5mm headphone jack built into it. I know that companies are currently pushing for wireless audio. All this does is make people have to invest money into more costly equipment. The plug-gable headphones I have work just fine for me. Yes, there is a short little 3" adapter cable (USB type C to 3.5mm), but it is just asking to be lost and/or broken. It's more of a hassle to keep track of. 2. Samsung has continued the lack of a rumble motor. It would be nice to have some touch feedback especially when playing a game. 3. Lastly, I previously had a Galaxy Tab S2 8". I love that tablet, because of its size and portability. I wish the Tab S5e had the option for an 8" screen. I do enjoy the 10" screen, but I can't fit it into my pocket. I've not noticed the wireless problem that I've read these tablets have. I'm a sucker for Samsung tablets. I've only known Samsung to make great quality products. Unless they stop making them, I won't buy a tablet from another company.

This tablet with it's 6 gb of ram is fast when I have several windows open and gaming is fast too. Watching movies is an adventure with the 4 AKG speakers and the super Amoled screen. This tablet is so very light for how much is packed into it. This tablet comes with 128 gb of internal storage and a sd card slot you can exspand this to another 256 gb. I purchased a dock for this tablet so it can always be charged and deplay my photos. I can also you my voice to tell Bixby to turn the screen off. It is worth the price for this beautiful but powerful tablet with it's thin screen bezels.
