Best android tablet
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since i needed a new tablet to use for media watching, quick Teamviewer remote access when am on the fly, and for GSuite use to collaborate on projects. This tablet met all my needs and more! - the screen is big enough to be close to a laptop or a 2 in 1 - the resolution of the screen is amazing - the multitouch is super responsive (what you'd expect from a high end tablet like this). - processing is very fast and the 6 GB memory has a lot to do with this. - the S pen included is wonderful and so easy to use for notes, and work projects, and to use instead of your finger as well.

The Tablet that Can Do it All
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Samsung tablet which is ironic since I’ve owned many tablets over the years, especially when I add the fact that my last 4 phones were all from Samsung with the latest being a note. I say that to ask this, why did I take so long to try a Samsung tablet??? Who knows, but without a doubt this is the best android tablet I have ever used. So, in the box comes……,I won’t bore you with specs and tidbits in the box, I’m sure someone else has covered that, but I will discuss what surprised/disappointed me and what unique features I really appreciate. First off, if you are a Samsung user, setting up and using this will be a breeze if you sign into your Samsung account. Even if you are not a Samsung user it is still easy to set up. An added benefit if you are Samsung user is that you can receive calls and messages from your cellphone through your tablet. This is cool. I currently use T-Mobile so I’m not sure what other providers it will work with. The build quality seems to be very good and I am confident it will last a long time despite how thin and light it feels. The Screen is simply superb. No matter what you view on it, it will be fantastic. Whether it is playing games or consuming media you will not be let down. The colors are vibrant and appealing. You’ll probably be so impressed, that like me, you wish the screen was more than 10.5 inches, (Come on Samsung! Give us a 2 more inches). I can’t complain the screen is beautiful. Also, I think it’s the first time Samsung has added an under-screen fingerprint scanner (thumbs up Samsung). It won’t take long to get used to its position and it works a little bit slower than the ones on their phones. Another amazing part of this tablet is the sound. What can I say, I was blown away. There are four AKG tuned speakers and I really appreciate that they are found with one at each corner so sound will still be reaching you no matter how you hold it. Unfortunately, there is no headphone jack, and that’s just the world we live in now (Bluetooth life it is then). Kudos to Samsung for providing us with a S-pen. The pen is slightly rectangular in design and has one singular button. It is stored on the back of the tablet below the rear cameras, in a cut-out groove that also charges the pen. I’m not a big fan of this position, I was constantly worrying that the pen would fall off, surprisingly it never did. It also connects the tablet to the tablet through Bluetooth. As a side note the S-pens from all my note devices also worked with the tablet, which was also surprising. When it comes to the S-pen there are a bunch of features and built in apps built just for it such as you can screen write at any time even when the tablet is off. You can preview most media by just hovering the pen over the file and also very handy is that it has a built-in translator, just hover the pen over the word you would like to translate. There are also a bunch of gestures with the pen that offers extra functionality inside certain apps like the camera, such as zoom in/out and switch from front to back rear camera and back. It is important to note that the pen which charges pretty quickly and can still be used when dead, I just think that the features that require Bluetooth, like the gestures won’t be available to you. When it comes to performance, this tablet is a KING no doubt to its processor the Snapdragon 855 which is the same processor in the top of line android phones Like the Note 10, S10 and One Plus 7 Pro. This tablet handled everything I threw at it and at once too. I had Chrome running (with multiple tabs), Gmail, Calendar, Brave Browser as well as One Note and a couple games and there was never a slowdown. I was very impressed, and this was the same with the battery. I have used it heavily for a few days, browsing various media ( mainly music and movies), watching YouTube, using it as a notebook, you know, all things that rack up screen on time and I’m surprised to say it lasted over a day being used like this. When I did a check, I racked up about 10 hours of screen on time and there was still about 32 % battery left. Again, Samsung well done. I did however notice some significant battery drain over one night. I do believe the culprit might be one or a few of my apps that were loaded on. Maybe it’s not optimized well for the Tablet but, you can get around that by putting the tablet in airplane mode overnight until you find it/them or at least turn off apps running in the background. Verdict TheTab S6 is the most capable Android tablet that exist right now. It is a media consumption beast with its wonderful screen and solid sounding speakers. Not to mention it comes packed with the options and features to get some work done if needs be. The included S-pen and the attachable keyboard (sold separately) along with Samsung Dex will see to that. In fact, you don’t even necessarily need Samsung’s keyboard, you can attach many Bluetooth keyboards and mice. I don’t believe it is the king of tablets, but it does a lot of things very well at a very competitive price.

Great iPad comparable tablet!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is awesome, been using it to sketch and type reports and really anything that I would do on a laptop, the DEX thing is kinda OK, I don't use it at all but everything else is just great, good battery life, fast and the pen is awesome, you need a case for it so the Samsung case is kind of a must, that is the only downside.

Great screen and fast process
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The tablet has great screen with sharp images and vibrant colors. I use the S pen all the time to write notes and reminders. The smart view feature helps me to connect the tablet to my TV with ease. The process is also fast so I enjoy playing games on the tablet instead of my phone.

Very Decent Tablet, Keyboard cover not so much
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Samsung Tab6 is a perfectly fine tablet. Strong performance, very good battery life, good resolution. It's a bit expensive, but can be had on sale which makes it a solid value. The Samsung Cover Keyboard on the other hand is either substantially over priced, or very poorly designed....well both really. Typing on it is fine, keys are responsive, layout is big enough, touch pad works well most of the time, but misses palm action sometimes. However the keyboard and the attached backplate are un necessarily heavy, which takes some of the goodness away from a thin, light tablet. The attachment to the tablet for the keyboard is flimsy particularly if you want to to type on your lap. The software that recognizes the attached keyboard, and it's functionality particularly when folded back is poor. If you foldover with the blade out, the keyboard still think's its active. Backlit...mmm nope. Attach the keyboard while working and DEX pops up and kills off some of your open apps. Protection for the display with the keyboard detached....nope engineering didnt think of that either Someone at Samsung R&D should just go out and buy a Surface device and check out how an attachable keyboard should work. At more than a 50 % premium to a surface keyboard cost....this item at $179 list is just a graceless example of really bad engineering. $60 sure....but not 3 times that. Go for the tablet...it's good....get a 3rd party keyboard.

From Surface Go to Tab S6
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was using a Surface Go with 4GB RAM for notes and media consumption. After some debating I switched over to the Tab S6 and it's been amazing. The speakers are loud and crisp, the screen is Samsung's top of the line and the build quality is strong. I'm very glad they chose to use aluminum and not glass this time. I've never had an Android tablet before, but for what I need (YouTube, Netflix, note taking) it's been fantastic thus far. I also like that it's very lightweight, thin, and feels sturdy. The fingerprint sensor is a bit tricky to set up, it kept saying my finger was not completely covering the sensor when it was. But after set-up it's been working fine, even after putting on a tempered glass. All in all I would honestly recommend this tablet for someone who doesn't need the power of Windows and is used to the Samsung/Android "ecosystem". Btw, I got the Rose Blush and while it is pink in some lights, it also comes across mauve-ish, rose gold-ish, and in other lights a bit rose bronze (to me at least). I hope this helps someone out!

I love having the stylus to use for pin point accuracy. The sound quality on this tablet is amazing. I love listening and watching on this tablet (s2 has awful sound). The screen quality is beautiful, it's been a great tablet. Battery life is great.

Excellent tablet!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Tab S6 strikes a nice balance between power and form factor. I am already a Surface Pro user for work and live the flexibility that gives me. However, for reading sessions like PDF textbooks, I found it a bit too heavy to hold in hand after a while and a bit big for handling. This is where the S6 fits nice with its smaller size and lighter weight. Plus, it's powerful enough that I can do some Office work on it if my Surface isn't with me. I have tested Word, Excel (some fair size spreadsheets) and PoerPoint decks and it handled them all very well. Combined with the Samsung File Manager now able to connect to my NAS, it's a nice setup. All in all, I'm very happy with it. Screen is great, battery is great and the build quality is great. Happy I got it.

Excellent android tablet with minor gripes
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tablet is capable. It has fantastic dispaly and speed. The S-pen is really cool. The functionality is fine and the Dex option is useful. A few minor gripes are the magentic S pen hold that needs to be secured accurately all times else the pen does not hold securely. There is no headphone jack and you need to buy a seperate dongle for that. Its a good buy from Best Buy.

Great Product
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After extensive research on Samsungs website and via YouTube videos, I opted to go with this device for my needs. I didn't like the idea of the pen being lose on the back panel only held by magnetic strip because I worry about losing it. I have to say it does stick well but also does get knocked off very easily. I think there should have been a better location for the pen but they made it quite large for the device and it would take away from the thinnest of the device. You can stick the pen to the bottom edge as well. I purchased s cheaper case than the samsung case and it comes with a spot to secure the pen to the bottom if not using. You can opt for a case similar to samsungs and it will cover the pen and keep you from knowing off when not in use. As for operating the device. I've tested it playing games for 3 days straight and battery life was good. No issues with any of the games I played and device is super lightweight and easy to handle.

LOVE IT!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had several different Samsung tablets and this is by far my favorite! Super sleek. Very easy to use. I bought a keyboard for it off Amazon (not the Samsung one because it's crazy expensive IMO) and use it mainly for school work. I can use all Microsoft office products or Google drive on it like you would with a laptop and I haven't had any issues with it being slow to respond. I have 2 laptops of different sizes and this is still my go-to for most tasks because it's so lightweight and easy to carry yet still gets the job done. The battery life is amazing. I can get sometimes a whole week of off and on school work without charging it. If you're watching videos or playing music on it though it will only last about a day or 2.

Great Device, Excellent Eco-System!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't know how I lived with my old tabled for almost 10 years (ASUS 101 Slider - Android 4.4 KitKat). This tablet is amazing. I can use it as a tablet or a second laptop display and the quality is excellent. Slick design, beautiful and sharp display, great pen, display size and small bezels are great! Speed is good. Apps and features are same as my Samsung S10+ phone. I can remote desktop to my desktop or laptop and work from it remotely. I can SSH to my servers and manage my servers from the tablet! Display quality is excellent! I love how I can connect my tablet to my Samsung phone and accept phone calls and messages on it. Samsung have figured it out! Security features are also top notch. Updates are issued regularly. Got updated to Android 11!

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is awesome tablet! Light, thin, powerful and the S-Pen is great. Nice upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tablet has great sound and a beautiful display. It is fast, and has long battery life. It also charges fast. It upgrades all the features that are standard on the Galaxy tablet. This has a stylus which is nice. The first Galaxy I bought came with a pen, the next one didn't, so I guess this is a feature people like. Overall this is a solid, well-made tablet.

HDR screen!!!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not my first tablet – but this is my first high-end tablet by any maker. My previous tablets, which are still in use, are Apple iPad 2, Amazon Fire, Samsung Tab A. I have one in the kitchen and I watch either YouTube or Netflix (etc.) while I cook and eat to my food. I'm not unhappy with any of them – the Amazon Fire is smaller, so I play with it (i.e. watching Netflix) in bed. But Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 was a shocker. Just like others, it came in the beautiful box and it took me a while to figure out where (the manual) was. (What computers/tablets come with a book-sized manual now?) It's a TINY pamphlet and was inside a tiny little box that contains a device to access the SD card slot (mainly a paperclip.) The tablet also comes with what they call a Spen and it can be magnetically "attached" to the back. With the optional keyboard (not reviewed with the tablet), the top part of the back of the cover seals it safely away so it doesn't get knocked off and get lost accidentally. (By the way, there is a replacement stylet in a TINY box, so don't lose it.) Just like any android tablet, ideally, you should have a Google account because it can transfer the setting from any of your devices (including a telephone) which basically duplicated and install all the programs that you have there (you could pick and choose which one you want to install, too.) And this tablet can be linked to your phone, so you can "call" someone with it. (I know, right?) It works in portrait mode while you are doing the initial set up so if you get yourself a cover or case or the optional keyboard, you will have to put that away for now. (Once done, it can work in landscape mode.) The screen is amazingly clear. It has the supposedly the same technology as OLED (called AMOLED). And since I have an LG OLED television, and a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, I am happy to say that indeed, black is truly black. And at 2,560 x 1,600, higher than 1080p, but nowhere near 4k, for the size of 10 and a half-inch screen, it looks very very clear. And yes, you can watch Netflix with HDR. If you are not used to it, and if you are old enough, think of it as three-strip Technicolor or Kodachrome slide. The colors will pop at you. The tablet has six gigabyte of memory, and 128 gigabytes of internal storage. The little slot on the side (which you will need that little paperclip tool to open) accepts the mini SD card – up to half a terabyte. The tablet is powered by Qualcomm 8-core Snapdragon 855 CPU. (That's more cores than my i7 desktop!) For a tablet, it is quite fast and everything feels snappy. The pen reminds me of the Wacom pressure-sensitive pen. I don't have a drawing program like Corel Painter (for Windows) to test it, and am not an artist so I don't think it would be that useful for me. However, so you know, it does not have to actually touch the screen to work. You can set it so when it gets close to the screen, the cursor changes the color and you can tell by looking at it. The little switch on the side can be accidentally pressed so you have to be careful when you hold the pen. It has 4096 pressure sensitive levels but I don't know if it is tilt-sensitive like a Wacom pen, as well. This tablet is really made to watch Netflix (etc.) I have never heard such clear sound from a tablet (this thin) before. I put it on the desk and walked across the room, and I still can hear it clearly even though it was too far to watch it. By the way, the power button is defaulted to setting up Bixby. This program also is available on my telephone (it is a part of the operating system and cannot be uninstalled), but I don't have a set up because I don't need it. I couldn't figured out how to turn it off the first day I had this tablet, so after a while, the screen went dark (by default) and I simply put it away for the long weekend and when I picked it up, I realized it was in sleep mode and it still had enough power to use for hours. The settings can be changed so the power button will bring up "shut down" and "restart" which I am used to. This is not mentioned in the little pamphlet manual. While am not writing this review about the optional keyboard, when it is connected, it activates something called Dex. It is a Samsung's interface for this tablet. Something you need to know is that if you run Netflix through the Dex, you only can watch it in a little tiny window – not in a full-screen. This tablet also has the fingerprint reader which you can use to turn it on. It is built right into the screen and it reminded me of something from Star Trek. I set it up, but I deleted my data because I prefer entering the pin number instead. There are two lenses on the back – one is wide-angle, and the other one is a "normal" lens. It is fun to use but don't expect to get quality like something from a DSLR. It has its own apps that you can create panorama pictures, etc. and it is fun to play with. Of course there is a camera on the other side and you can use it with Skype or whatever program you use to chat with someone (with video.) The cameras on the back do video, too. So what else can you do with this tablet? I don't think for the same amount of money, it would be a good substitute for a laptop. (And you can get an inexpensive Windows laptop for half the price of this tablet.) If you need full-featured word processor, Microsoft makes the word program available for android but you must sign in to use it. Apache (Oracle) has 3rd party ported of Open Office – so that is another option. However, without the keyboard, it is way too difficult to use. I will certainly never use the pen to "write" a report – it is hard enough to type – I prefer voice dictation (which I am doing now, and the program I use is only available for Windows.) But it is a high end android tablet which is fun to use. It is not heavy like a laptop (there are light and powerful laptops but they are very expensive and are not comparable to this tablet at all.) And you could take it just about anywhere provided that you have a third-party case or its own case, or the keyboard which is basically a case, to protect it. Remember that the pen can easily fall off and you use have to be careful or you will end up having to buy a replacement. What do I think of this? It has a terrific long battery life with a beautiful screen and very good speakers. (There is no a headphone jack and you can use a Bluetooth speaker or headset instead.) And has microSD card slot on the side which you will need to use the tool provided (looks like a paperclip) to open. It supports up to 512 gigabytes. The screen supports HDR and technically it is an OLED which is beyond gorgeous. You don't have to be sitting in front of an LG/Sony OLED, think of this as a portable version of one. (I don't know about the infamous OLED burn-in problem, so I turn the 'screen saver' on and it goes blank after 5 minutes without activity. Netflix stays on though.) It is the best tablet in the android world – and it will cost you.
