Customers are pleased with the Galaxy Tab S8+'s large screen, long battery life, and ease of use. The S-Pen is also a frequently praised feature, along with the tablet's performance and lightweight design. While some find the price high, and boot times a bit slow, the positive feedback outweighs the negative. Many appreciate the ample storage options available.

The Best Tablet Experience I've Ever Had

I've used my share of tablets in my time, and this has to be the best experience I've ever had using one. It's super smooth. It's flipping gorgeous. And unlike other companies, there's a fully functional magnetic S-pen that charges on the back, rather quickly I might add, in the box. Now I understand that a lot of people a looking to move up from the Tab S7+ to this one. To be absolutely honest, That's only for those that want the and greatest version. The S7+ is getting all of the same perks as this model the only caveat is there's a faster processor in the S8+. Okay, and the fact that Samsung is doing 4 years of updates so it's more future proof than the S7+. I mean, even looking at those issues, this still very beautiful and very capable machine. If you've never had Galaxy Tab and you can swing that sticker price, you're going to make yourself or someone you love very happy. Also another perk to being similar to it's predecessor, Is that all of those keyboard cases fit just fine on this model as well. The screen is lovely. The 12 mp front camera takes great photos. Same for the back. All that and it's as light as a proverbial feather. The AKG speakers sound really good for a tablet this thin and basically, I can seem to put it down. Get this thing. Get it now.

Samsung S8+ Below Full Retail

The Samsung S8+ Tablet was retailing for $899.99 when i purchased it around black friday 2022. I picked it up on sale for $699.99. It's a good product. I generally like Samsung products due to their quality and consistency of quality while also operating on the Android OS. I think my only complaint would have to be the resolution. It's a 2800x1900 display( roundabout). I was expecting tablets to be further along in display technology and resolution by 2022 due to the gact that my beloved Samsung S2 tablet has a higher resolution sitting around 2900x1900 or so. But Samsung is up to par with all the other tablets on market in terms of resolution so the room for complaint is minimal. My advice is buy a good wall charging unit because this model does not come with an adapter and the tablet eats up power, as expected, because its huge.

Bought this to replace my wife's laptop. She is very happy with this tablet. She is new to using the android system and has fairly easily adapted with this tablet. Fairly easy to set up. I've been using heavily since it was purchased. No problems

I have shied away from full blown tablets because I didn't really see a purpose for them. Having a Samsung Note as my every day cell phone, I already had a stylus and a large enough screen to pretty much be its own tablet. I has also tried early Android based tablets, as well as my daughter having a Samsung kids tablet, both of which felt clunky. Anytime I needed something more, the Android platform wasn't the right fit for the job, so I bought a Surface Pro which allowed me to run the Windows based programs for my company. I did buy another older generation Samsung Tablet about a year ago that I mounted to the wall in my shop to stream content to a projector and play music if need be, but I have never asked much more of it. When given the opportunity to review Samsung's latest entry into the tablet field, I figured why not...lets see how far these tablets have come.
As soon as I pulled this thing out of the box I noticed something...tablets have gotten a lot bigger! This 14.6" screen is larger than those old travel TVs some of us used to have. I definitely think that this Galaxy Tablet will be coming with my on road trips and vacations for use as my personal TV. But there is one minor problem...WHERE IS THE CHARGING BRICK SAMSUNG? There is a USB-C to USB-C cable included in the box, but no actual charging brick that plugs into the wall. Unless you already have one laying around that accepts USB-C (Luckily I recently purchased an Oculus, which did the right thing and provided the necessary equipment to actually use the product I purchased), you will not be able to charge your new $900 tablet. This is a terrible trend that I am seeing, and it needs to stop. Now.
Fortunately, the tablet came with about a 40% charge, so I was able to turn it on and start the setup procedure. This was a chore. The process itself is actually pretty pain free...when it works. However when setting up this tablet, it asked if I wanted to import apps and files from another device. As I wanted a fresh start and had different intentions for this tablet, I clicked no. I am going to guess that most people are upgrading from another tablet and click yes, because I have had used car salesman that took my "No" answer better. Nearly half a dozen times the tablet circled back around to asking me if I wanted to import files and apps. No means No. After finally making it through the initial setup, it advised me that it was finalizing setup, and froze. I could pull down the menu screen that told me it was finalizing, but I could open anything, switch screens, dismiss the notification...I could not do anything. I could not even shut off the tablet.
That being said, I let the tablet die (which took about 36 hours, so yay for battery life?). I then plugged my Samsung Tablet into my Oculus Charger (I can't believe I am saying this, but THANK YOU FACEBOOK!), and charged the tablet to 100% and turned it back on. Poof, magic, everything worked flawlessly. I downloaded a few apps that I wanted on this tablet, including streaming media sources and my security camera apps, and got to work.
The screen is crystal clear. Maybe even more clear than that but I can't come up with a proper comparison. I am slightly an audiophile, but these speakers do not disappoint either and work in stereo. The S-Pen is a pretty nifty trick too. I have used it to write notes which convert to typed letters as well as draw visual aids for presentations and it works amazing, unless you are trying to write the letter "J". If you write this letter, I am pretty sure that the tablet uses a random letter generator and just throws whatever it can in that spot. But this is only a small inconvenience. Ill take that small issue any day with how responsive the S-Pen is. I will say that you do need to keep close track of that S-Pen however. It has a magnet attachment on the back of the tablet which also charges the S-Pen and it has decent retention. However anytime to set this tablet down, the S-Pen will probably come off and you will need to stick it back on.
Overall, this tablet is a winner. Smooth processing, outstanding battery life, great screen and audio, and a handy stylus to boot. I am hoping that the initial setup process was just a fluke as everything has been perfect since then. But I do really wish that Samsung would stop omitting the necessary equipment to charge the expensive device you have purchased. My $1100 phone didn't come with one, this $900 tablet didn't come with one, but my $300 Oculus did. There is no reason not to include it, other than being cheap.

An AMAZING tablet that can replace a laptop!

This tablet is absolutely amazing! Initial impressions after setting this tablet up are that it's super thin, light and seems very durable with it's metal frame. It looks and feels premium! Upgrading to this from the Tab S7 seems like there isn't much difference on the outside but I can honestly say that this tablet feels faster, has a better display, and even sounds a little better than the last gen of this same tablet. I would say that if you're on the fence between this an an iPad I would say that you'll have just as good of an experience in terms of software as Samsung has done a nice job streamlining the software so you can setup and get going in minutes. I actually like the feel of the S-Pen on this tablet far better than any I've used so far. In terms of the pen and writing, it really seems more responsive and to me feels more natural because it's so much more responsive.
As far as connectivity goes, the WiFi speeds are fast and the reception is overall solid. In fact, one odd thing is that my Tab S7 sometimes has WiFi reception issues in my living room but this tablet has not had that issue at all.
You can easily expand storage on it with the MicroSD and add significant storage to the tablet. I often keep media and photos/videos on one and then use internal memory for apps and games. Many software titles on Android work well with SD Storage and let you configure where media is stored separate from the app itself so having expandable memory is an easy thing to do an manage.
The display is very bright and vibrant and with it's high variable high refresh rate it looks good and feels good when scrolling through web pages or media. You can attach a second display through USB-C and even multi-task where you can watch videos on one display and do email on the other with Samsung Dex which is not something you can do or even do well on any other tablet out there. The best part is you can even charge while using the second display all through the same cable, it's TRULY AMAZING!
The USB C charging and data port is a welcomed feature as it charges fast and lets you quickly transfer media to your computer and really as fast as your microSD card will read data off of it. There is no headphone jack so that would be the one thing I'd keep in mind if you still prefer to use wired headphones.
The last thing is how fast this tablet is, apps just snap up when your load them and updating apps used to take a fair amount of time for 20-30 apps and this tablet blazes through them in on a few minutes. It's OTA software update only took a matter of minutes also, so Samsung has clearly done things to optimize the software and the processor is just simply faster than any other out there.
Battery life is amazing, you can surf the internet an watch movies on Netflix for hours without any problem. In the time I've had with it I've yet to run it dead in the middle of doing something and feel confident I could go anywhere with it and not worry about it running dead. The fast charging also helps make that task an easy quick thing when you need a quick boost on power.
Overall, this tablet is simply amazing! Having owned iPads previously, I can say with every bit of confidence that this tablet is better than any other out there right now. It makes consuming media, or doing things a breeze, and with a keyboard (and even mouse) you can have a laptop-like experience. Using Samsung Dex, is amazing and makes this tablet a lot more than just a tablet replacing many laptops!

I love this tablet best samsung tablet I've own the 8+ was a better choice because i didn't want something so big since i already have a yoga 9i laptop. I needed something for my job since I'm a teacher that's portable enough to display to our smart tv in the classroom...or have the mobility to go to meetings with versus taking my laptop. Im not an apple user so the ipads given to us i hardly even use. The 8+ is a beast!! I use mine for digital planning, meetings, and lesson planning!

This thing is Beast mode! The note taking ability is incredible and the pen included is on point! Writes very well and no delay in reaction. The ability to have 3 apps open is very useful. I bought 2, one for my wife too.
