blood pressure only works with S9, Note9, S10, S10+. It even exclude the new S10e. The watch is nice but I bought it for the blood pressure feature and nowhere does it state that will be limited to just those phone models. Sleep tracking needs improvement. It will record me as sleeping when working on computer or watching a movie or tv in my easy chair. I can delete those spurious sleep times but it records them with rem and light/deep sleep cycles which is clearly wrong and call into question the accuracy of the data when I am asleep.

I bought this mainly to track fitness and sleep and so far have not been disappointed. It's smaller than the original Galaxy watch which is just what I wanted. My only issues so far are that it seems to scratch easily and sometimes the sleep tracking is not accurate but overall I really like this watch.

Love the watch and that I can send simple texts from it. I hate that I have to charge it every other day dispite turning off some of my notifications all I get on my watch are text messages, notified of in coming calls and tracking my steps and sleep. My Futbit blaxe lasted a full week on a single charge. I am keeping the watch because I can text without my phone which helps in long meetings or trainings

My wife loves her watch. Forget about that dial thing. They size of this watch is perfect for her. She does not even know it's on when she sleeps. Loves the fact that it connects to wifi.

I was excited to upgrade my fitness watch to the new Galaxy Active. However, by the end of the 1st day I was highly disappointed. After 5 days I returned it. Pros: -It's very comfortable, you hardly know it's there - Screen was easy to navigate - When doing circuit training through the app the watch buzzes at the end of each interval Cons: - Battery didn't last even 24 hours. After making some adjustments I was able to get it to last about a day and a half. Likely could have gotten more, but I didn't want to give up functionality. - Didn't properly record my sleep. I usually go to bed around 8, it consistently recorded me going to sleep at 11:30 and the option to change it/manually enter sleep in the Samsung Health app wouldn't work. - It would take steps away when syncing with the app. I had 4500 steps on my watch and 3400 in the app. When the watch synced with the app it brought my steps down to 3400. I was wondering my my step count was lower than usual. - Unable to sync the watch with other apps

I really like the styling of this watch. It is a great concept, beautiful styling. However, the technical aspects of the watch still need work. The battery did not hold a charge at all after a few weeks. The sleep fitness nor step tracking were accurate or reasonable. Sadly due to the total power failure problem, I ended up returning the product.

Love my watch, I just wish it had a longer battery life. It only lasts for a day and a half. I wish the heartrate would show up in the app or phone more like the Fitbit. I also don't find it's very accurate when monitoring sleep. It shows I have slept at certain times I know that I was awake. It is very comfortable and I get compliments on it often. Even with the few flaws, I would definitely buy the watch again and I do like it.

I absolutely love this watch! I love that you can customize the face (easily), edit and add widgets, and pick your exercise. The sleep tracker is a little off, but you can easily edit your true sleep time. Bands are very easy to change. Battery doesn't last a week, but that could be because I forget to turn off my bluetooth. I am really enjoying the watch. Highly recommend.

While the Galaxy Watch Active is by far the most comfortable and best looking smart watch I've owned, the fitness tracking leaves much to be desired. The heart rate sensor is acceptable at best. Sleep tracking is even worse. My biggest complaint with the Galaxy Watch Active is Samsung promoting the Blood Pressure Monitoring feature. Currently it only works with six phone models! Not to mention that the app is still in beta, requires you to answer daily survey questions, and own a blood pressure cuff. Overall, if you're looking for a health tracker, look elsewhere.

This watch is ok if you are just looking for a stylish smartwatch at a decent price and you don't care about the fitness tracking. I found that the calorie counting, step tracking and sleep tracking were not accurate. For example, it had me sleeping at 8:50pm and I didn't go to bed until almost 10. The battery life is very poor. Even with battery optimize feature on I was lucky to get two days out of a charge. I also don't like the watch band because it tucks in under the band instead of on top. It makes it much more difficult to take on and off plus it is not very comfortable when you are working out. Also, as far as the smartwatch functions I found that sometimes I received notifications and sometimes I didn't. I returned the watch and purchased one that is more geared toward accurate fitness tracking with a far better battery life. Hopefully Samsung will make improvements to this watch in the future,

Battery life for me with minimal usage has been 1.25 days far under the 2 days advertised. I have the heart rate set to every 10 minutes too and a black watch face. I was also disappointed to find that it takes a solid 2 hours to charge so pick between sleep tracking or time/notification/step counting. FYI for others. . it is qi compatible for charging but you still need special qi chargers for the galaxy watches. Its a little disappointing I have to tell myself to not play with it because the battery wont last a day if I do. For good: I finally have a reason to use bixby, it works great for texting via watch. No rotating bezel hasnt been an issue for me. This is a very comfortable watch and fits great on my skinny arms. Finally you can have a lot of smart functionality in a small watch that doesnt have to stand out. Im almost thinking I should buy a second one so one can be charging while one is being worn. The price is really good for what you get overall

I went back and forth over whether this was 4 stars or 5, but I ultimately landed on 5 because I feel like this watch excels based on the identity it was designed to have and the price point it was designed at. No, this might not be the most feature-packed smart watch out there. There's no speaker/microphone so it can't play music or place/make phone calls without you physically using your phone, but at $200, it wasn't meant to. It's the Galaxy Watch Active and I think it really nails the Active part. It's small, simple, super light and easy to forget it's there. It automatically tracks a large number of workouts, it's swim-proof, and it also tracks a bevy of other physical things like pulse, stress, sleep, weight, calories, caffeine, water intake, etc. I don't know what else you can track without having something much more invasive hooked to your body. Because of this, I'd call this more of a fitness tracker than a smart watch. Since it DOES still have a lot of smart watch features like notifications, texting, calendars, weather, email, Samsung Pay, etc, etc, etc, I'd say it's one very full-featured fitness tracker, thus the 5 stars. I've never used other fitness trackers or smart watches, but this one checks all my boxes. Small side note: some people have complained about the phone app and editing settings from there, but I like it because it's a much bigger screen, which makes changing things so much quicker and easier. The only cons I can think of is that battery life is about 2 days at most (I could turn some features off, but then what's the point? @@@@@@@ and I wish there were more watch faces, or that the ones that are on it had more colors. TL;DR: Feature-packed fitness tracker that does everything that it says it will, well. Battery life could be a little better.

Great, comfortable entry smart / fitness watch

This is my first smart / fitness watch. I've found it to be very comfortable and have a lot of entry type features. I can check my heart rate, "stress levels", log steps walked, time holding planks, doing yoga, cycling (and many other specific fitness activities), log water intake, check the weather, receive notice of text messages and phone calls (even from my iPhone), and more. I love the style - it is so pretty and feminine. There are also Samsung fitness challenges one can join. I'm still learning about many features. They say that blood pressure monitoring may be possible in future software releases. Sleep is also tracked automatically. I like that positive feedback is given when walks are started, etc. The watch also prompts one to move if it detects long periods of inactivity. The downsides I've found are battery life -- if using the full color mode, the battery only lasts ~2 days. Also one can use power saver mode, and the battery lasts longer, however, one cannot access all the apps in power saver mode -- only check the time, track steps. Charging is fast (~1-2 hrs) and perhaps not 'perfect' exercise/sleep logging. I still wear an old fitbit and am comparing steps logged and sleep. The two devices so far are quite similar. I'm used to the fitbit app, so still like that for looking at sleep/steps. The Samsung app seems to be fairly comparable, and ever evolving. Overall, I like this watch a lot and recommend it if folks are aware of the limitations. For the price point, I think it is great.

    Attractive But Fails for Fitness

I bought the watch to replace my Fitbit Versa. I have a Samsung phone, so it would be nice to have a more integrated/capable smartwatch. This one can easily find my phone, I can charge it off the back of my phone, easier to review emails/texts. Plus, I like the circular design of the watch and that is smaller and lighter. The green color looks distinctive in person while remaining classy and not overbearing. With Samsung's seeming revamp of its health/fitness, I decided to get it a go. However, the fitness tracking on this watch is awful. Chiefly, the sleep tracking. It doesn't accurately record when you wake up, so that if you tend to linger in bed and do work on your PC or browse using your phone, then it still considers you ASLEEP. It records it as "Light Sleep". Worse, you cannot edit your sleep stats in the Samsung Health app, so you're just left with inaccurate stats. And this is supposed to be their more fitness-oriented watch? For this alone, it only gets 2 stars; it doesn't matter how well it does anything else. Also, the app hijacks your notification options for things like emails and texts. On my phone, my email notifiations will let me mark as red, flag, or delete. Those options are stripped from the Watch in favor of weird "auto replies" like "ok" or EMOJI. Who is replying with a smiley face emoji to an EMAIL???

I've never owned a smart watch or Fitbit before, so I was uncertain of how much I would like this product when I bought it. Getting used to it took a little bit of time, but now that I know how to use it, it has proven to be extremely useful for my daily life. Below are a few of the ways I use and enjoy my smartwatch. Health & Fitness: the watch tracks my heartbeat, stress, sleep (to include depth of sleep), steps, and when I walk or run for more than 10 minutes. It obviously links with Samsung Health (not certain about other health apps), and gives you a basic display on your watch of your activities and Calories lost during the day. I'm a pretty lazy person by nature, but having all that information at my wrist helps to keep me motivated to move around a bit more. Notifications: When paired with my phone, I can see messages, emails, and other notifications from my phone without ever pulling it out of my pocket. I can even respond to messages with 20 customizable responses, write words on the watch face, or even speak into the watch for it to write my words down. Music control: I can switch songs and turn up the volume to my headphones, all from my watch. Very useful since you can see the song title on the face. Samsung Pay: I can pay for many of my purchases simply by putting my wrist near the card reader. If I forget my wallet at home, I know there are many places I can still go, instead of being forced to return home. Pick your favorite watch face: There are many different watch faces, which can focus on utility or fashion. Pick whichever one you want, and even change what is displayed on them. Various apps: You can set calendar dates, add reminders, alarms, favorite contacts to easily message, check the week's weather, and do even more, all without ever pulling out your phone. I only have a few minor complaints about it. I wish some of the apps on the store were included from the start and didn't require you to purchase them. One instance of this is the navigation app. If I'm walking somewhere new, having a navigator on my wrist would be awesome, but I don't really want to pay an additional $2 or $5 for it (can't remember the price). Also, even if you've Samsung Pay for your phone with credit cards saved on there, those cards don't transfer to your watch. You'll have to add and activate your cards again for use specifically with your watch. As for the speech to text function, it doesn't seem to be as accurate as other things I've used. You'll have to make sure to speak clearly and slowly, and even then you may have to fix a few mistakes. Compared to all the benefits the watch gives me, though, these are all minor complaints that would make the watch even more awesome if fixed. If you've been curious about getting a smart watch, I would most certainly recommend it. Most likely, you'll be glad you did.

I've been a fan of smart watched since the beginning. I've owned no less than five of them. Everything from simple fitness trackers to the big and heavy stylish watches. Each new generation of watch has seen improvements over the previous generation. The Galaxy Watch Active is probably the "smartest" smart watch yet. The watch is nicely made yet very lightweight. I like the simple all black design. When it comes to my everyday watch for work, I prefer a simple design such as this. The 40mm size is a little bit smaller than many watches but I think it is a good compromise size for everyone. The band is very comfortable and it is nice to see two different sized bands included. Compared to earlier watches, the battery life is great. Now keep in mind that you will still find you need to charge it every evening. But unlike many smart watches from before that you would be struggling to make it thru the day with, I find I am still at over 50% battery life by the time I go to bed. Pretty impressive considering my normal use. I also like the charger. Much like others, you have a magnetic charger to attach it to. But unlike others that are small and finicky to attach, this one is a disk about the same size as the watch itself. Easy to attach without fumbling around. The functions are straight forward. All of the standard health tracking features are here. Heart rate, steps, calories burned, sleep monitor and so on. I like the inclusion of the stress monitor. From what I can tell, everything seems to be pretty accurate. I really like that it seems to stay connected to my my phone very well. I've gotten more than a little frustrated in the past with other watches because they can't seem to hold a good connection. This would lead to missed notifications. That drives me nuts! But so far, the Galaxy Watch Active seems to have the most stable connection to my phone that I've ever seen from a watch. FYI, I am using it with a Note 9. At the end of the day, for me a smart watch needs to be there without being noticeable if that makes any sense. I want the functions to work so well that you don't spend time being frustrated with the watch not functioning well. This watch does just that. It looks great, has great battery life and functions so well that I can go about my day without getting frustrated by it. what more can you ask for??

Samsung Galaxy Smartwatch Will Keep You Motivated

I have to say I am really enjoying this Samsung Galaxy watch. It has helped me with motivation to get moving, either at the gym or just simply walking. It is a great compliment, with all the information it gives you, for exercise. Here are my Pros and Cons. Pros . Works with a Smart Phone app to give custom information on your health with 40 different kinds of measurements. . Some of the information you receive from the watch and smart phone app is: Steps, Heart Rate, Sleep analysis, Calories burned and oh so much more. When you get the watch you can choose which features you would like to display. In the app you can select on/off activites, so it is really easy to customize what you want out of your workouts. . It has two bands for the right fit for your size wrist. I had to choose the longer one and it feels comfortable. . The Samsung Galaxy watch is incredible lightweight and sturdy. When you put it on your wrist you hardly know its there. . You can choose between Android and iOS smart phones. I chose Android and had no trouble working the Samsung Galaxy watch. . The watch is definitely sweatproof and waterproof as well. . One of the coolest things is that you can choose your watch face. There are a lot of choices you can pick from to display on the watch face. Some are built in as part of the smart app (free), others you can download for free on your smart phone (easy to follow steps). . The Galaxy smart watch can accept your texts and you can choose to read them on your phone or as you regularly view them on your phone. It is a convenient part of the watch features. . The watch tells you that a phone call is coming in. I had to answer it on my smart phone. In the list of things to use carefully check what would be best for you. There should be a setting to answer the call on your Galaxy smart watch. . The screen is sharp looking and vibrant with color and a 360 x 360 resolution. If you have average 20/20 vision you should be able to see all that the watch displays on its face. I have to use reading glasses on some of the settings, but for the most part I can read the face without any issue. . Charger is a wireless circular magnetic pad that charges the watch fast. . Bluetooth is another great feature that the Samsung Galaxy has as well. Cons . The watch face feels as if it could be scratched. It is kind of feels soft and if you were to bump it into anything hard, it might leave a mark. I admit that I baby it some, but I have had no trouble. . The Samsung Galaxy watch battery life is supposed to be 90 hours. My watch falls well short of that. I get a little over 35 hours then I need a charge. I have to plan around sleep so my watch has enough power to see me through the night. . I think that changing the watch face often probably wears down the battery. They are easy to change and come in such variety of colors that the watch faces that the battery cannot take all those different faces. . You really need the app to get the full effect of the of the Samsung Galaxy watch features. The app gives you all the information you need. So if you don't use the app you will really be missing the key part of activities information. All in all, the Samsung Galaxy watch is a great companion to your workout and motivation. It is also a great looking watch for exercise with 40 activities, and ready for a night out by changing the face. This versatile Samsung Galaxy watch is really worth getting if you are interested in exercise information that is easy accessible.
