Hard to find a protector even from Samsung and too small for a regular man wrist.

I would have given it 5 stars, but it does not have a microphone or speaker. Otherwise it's a great watch.

Does mostly everything I'd like it to. Could be better: built-in speaker; actual BP readings, not just % higher or lower thru app; longer battery life.

I returned this watch because I could not make calls from the watch. Other than that it was great!

Great upgrade to my original Huawei watch. Only issue is it has no built in speaker so you can't answer a call or listen to music on the watch.

First smart watch for me and it does the job. Price was great and does just about everything I need from a fitness perspective. Only complaints are it doesn't have a speaker and it's not terribly easy to load music on to it as there is no interaction between the watch and Google music as far as uploading music.

This is a great smartwatch, especially for the price. It has a ton of features but the only thing it doesn't have is a speaker, it has a microphone so you can still use Bixby. For the price, it is an amazing product

While it's cute and has a lot of cool functions like finding my phone, it does a terrible job of tracking steps or exercise in general. I bought this to replace my fitbit and it sadly does not compare. Not having a speaker its not a suitable phone alternative. Ultimately it was a waste of my money as I got another Fitbit.

This is a really great addition to the already awesome Samsung watch lineup. I have the Galaxy gear S3 and the Frontier and then I bought this one for my wife because she wanted something smaller and lighter. And for that it's just right. About the only thing it doesn't have that the larger ones do is a speaker.

If you're looking for just a fitness tracker with a few extras, this is a good watch to have. Its light and smaller than the bigger frontier series but also doesnt have all the features either. It is swim proof which is nice but does lack a speaker for phone calls, having a bluetooth headset remedies that problem of course. Overall it's still a great device.

I absolutely love this watch. Ive had 3 different Samsung watches and this one work the best buy far. The only thing I don't like is it doesn't have the stand alone phone option and no external speaker. Hopefully the next version they make of this watch will have those options.

I love this watch. I had the Galaxy watch and even though I really liked it I felt that it was too big for my wrist. This watch fits better and is more comfortable to sleep in. Even though the battery life isn't as good as the Galaxy watch I do find that I can get almost 2 days out of a single charge. Note for possible users: it doesn't have a speaker so it only vibrates and doesn't answer phone calls. Personally I prefer this but just a heads up

VERY disappointed that this has no speaker. Calls placed go to your cell which isn't convenient in an emergency such as a fall. You can still set up sos, but being able to answer calls while away from your phone was a great feature of ALL prior models. Totally bummed. On the plus side, the health aspects are much better than the s3.

I'm enjoying my new Samsung active watch. It's comfortable and fun to wear. I love tracking my steps and workouts. The blood pressure app is not out yet so I can't review that, but the stress & heart rate app is very nice. There is a microphone so you can text, email, make reminders by speaking. There is no speaker, so you can't answer a phone call without your phone.

I've had this watch for about 2 weeks and have been using it with my S10+. It looks really nice, especially since I don't have huge wrists, and it functions great overall. You can't answer calls directly on the watch, but I never do that anyway so it's not a big deal to me. It will let you send a text response by voice (only with Android), which is something I use frequently. Unfortunately, it uses Bixby instead of Google, so it's a little slower than I would like, but it still works. The health tracking features are great and the whole experience is smooth overall. Having used an Apple Watch for several years and trying multiple Android watches during that time, I can definitely say this is the closest I've come to the smoothness and polished user experience that I enjoy with Apple. Not quite there (Samsung Pay doesn't always work the first time for some reason, and the lack of a built in speaker limits it slightly), but very close.

Entry level smart watch meets most of my needs

The active watch fits a small wrist better than other models and the watch is comfortable to wear. Counts my steps accurately enough, but counting the number of floors does not work correctly for me. Text can be small and a struggle to read for some information, but that is to be expected on a small device. It has a microphone so you can voice record for texting (with my Samsung phone), but no speaker. The lack of the speaker is disappointing, but I was aware of this missing feature before purchase. I used the golf app one time and the yardage was accurate within 5 yards (compared to a phone app) and the watch found the course right away. However, it appears there is a cost to continue using the golf app after the trial period to retain the full features of the app. Screen is bright and clear. Battery lasts about two days for me and seems to take a couple hours for a full charge. The active watch fits most of my needs at a decent price so I give it a good rating, but other watches do have additional features.

What I Have Been Waiting For!

I currently own the Gear S2 Classic and the Galaxy Watch in the 42mm size. Both work great, I have no complaints. I am used to the size of the watches but always hoped Samsung would release a smaller and more feminine (sure the rose gold color is feminine but the size and design are bulky and still masculine) model. This watch definitely has what I had been looking for. It is much smaller (40mm) and lighter. Yes, as many have mentioned in their reviews there is no rotating bezel, it just takes some getting used to. It also does not have a speaker, which I don't mind since I prefer to use my Bluetooth ear buds when I make calls. This watch is more for activity tracking therefore it makes sense for this model to be missing the rotating bezel and speaker. Various features such as email, messaging, alarms, or call notifications are still available on this wearable. Overall I am pleased with this watch and recommend it to people such as myself who are looking for a simple light wearable watch.

    not as advertised

a major factor in me purchasing a smartwatch and in particular this smartwatch was that it was supposed to be capable of measuring blood pressure. The thing they don't tell you is that this is only compatible with Samsung devices that are S9 or . This was not mentioned on any of the advertising. I figured I could get around this by borrowing a device to try it out and at least see if I liked it, however the app that is able to take care of these measurements isn't made by Samsung and is in an experimental phase. Trying to even use the app involve signing multiple things that isn't something that anybody wants to just try out the feature is going to sign up for. Next time Samsung is advertising a feature they need to make sure that feature is actually readily available to its clients before selling the product. Another problem I had was that this watch also left a singeing sensation where the sensor was touching my skin. This leads me to believe that these products may be buggy and effective to begin with because I don't believe a smartwatch should sting while you're wearing it. The device doesn't even have a speaker in it so you can't take calls from the watch unless you're wearing headphones that are connected to the watch and not your phone. If they're connected to your phone your watch just acts as a glorified control. I only give this product of 1 out of 5 because it at least functions as a step counter and heart rate monitor and we'll give your notifications to your rest so you don't have to pull out your phone. However this is pretty much a feature available on any smart watch and many other SmartWatches are much cheaper.

A very good watch (not so good on iOS)

It is a good fitness band/watch with GPS/Heart rate monitor. You cannot make calls with this thing as even though it has micro phone it lacks a speaker. Yes, you can connect it with a Bluetooth headset and in that case, call goes to that, but that functionality is not there on iPhone, only on Android. You get Phone, Contacts & Samsung Pay when you sync it with an Android, these options are not available when you connect it with iPhone. I checked the app store and as of today, there are very few applications and the best health app you can use is Samsung Health, which itself is pretty good but if you are already using some app it may get some time and you will lose your progress. The Samsung Health App is mediocre at best on iOS, it kept telling me that there is no wearable device; though the galaxy app was showing the watch as connected. So, if you are using an iPhone, I will stay clear from it or wait till proper support is there. I have still given it 4 stars as it all works wonderfully on any Android device. The sync is seamless, all details is shown correctly the interface is good. Please note that If you are used to of using some fitness app, Samsung OS might not have it as this is not android wear it is Samsung own Tizen. Tizen is not bad, there are lots of faces to download and some of them are pretty good. Battery life is decent with location off, though goes down by EOD if GPS is on (Which is standard considering the battery size). Charger is magnetic wireless, and no hassle. I think the size is perfect for people with small - medium wrists and is very light weight. The band is smooth and seems to be good quality. There is one extra L size band included in the box along with a charger. I have been testing this for over a week now with iPhone, and the only thing which I really thing missing is the support to make calls from the watch it self. Yesterday I synced it with Android (do note that the watch will reset when you change phones so make sure you have backup your data). It connects to your phone (Apple/Android), and can alert you in case of notifications, which is handy as you can silent your phone and still get notification. It auto detects your workout, walking, running, cycling. Tizen interface is very responsive and the applications I used, they all worked as intended and I had no issues using them. It was very pleasant to use, full marks there. To conclude, it is a very nice-looking premium feel watch which works great with an Android phone. So, 5 stars for that. iPhone experience is half baked at best; so, 3 stars for that. Decide based on which phone family you come from. Recommended for Android users.

    Great Value Smart Watch/Fitness Companion

This is an overall great value for any occupation and any occasion. My workplace is an industrial package center. After getting tired of missing calls/texts I decided to finally jump the gun after buying the Galaxy S10. I went along with the black version since the casing is a hard composite that I don't have to worry about scratching. This is as opposed to the aluminum casings on the other color watches. Build wise I would not have bought this if the market for 3rd party accessories was non-existent. I found a great screen protector that helps me stay confident about wearing the watch to work, and the Milanese style strap I bought allows me to quickly adjust the location of the watch body to keep it away from machinery when necessary. The OEM strap is very comfortable but having to readjust it proved to be a nuisance. Style wise the 40mm casing looks just right on me. I am 5'5" and typically wear smaller 38mm watches. Not sure if I would like it as much if the size was any smaller. It's a preference, but we all have our vanities about us. The black screen on black bezel also makes the screen look bigger than what it really is, which is good. I am sure all of us would have preferred a smaller bezel like what Samsung has done with their Galaxy line of phones though. The actual watch is simple to navigate. The lack of the rotating bezel makes it easier to navigate through touch compared to the preceding Galaxy Watch devices where the bezel was raised and in the way. If you can memorize what application is which icon on the navigation screen, then scrolling through them one-by-one with the old bezel is pointless. That's my opinion as somebody who's never owned one of those devices. Lack of a speaker is ok. When it is all said and done this is a fitness track first. It works out because I have the Galaxy Buds (preorder bonus) anyways for when I take incoming calls. Back to this being a fitness tracker. The pedometer and floor count may be questionable at best, but I enjoy being able to see my heart rate, stress levels, and sleep habits. Lastly, it may not have a speaker, but it still has GPS! The Navigation Pro app I paid for is very useful for pedestrian travel. I don't need a map on my wrist, so simply telling me where and when to turn is great. What I did not realize is that the companion app also syncs with my Android Auto in my car. Whenever I put in an address it'll give me the turn-by-turn on my wrist. Since I keep my GPS on mute, I found the vibration for an incoming turn/exit to be very handy.
