    not as advertised

a major factor in me purchasing a smartwatch and in particular this smartwatch was that it was supposed to be capable of measuring blood pressure. The thing they don't tell you is that this is only compatible with Samsung devices that are S9 or . This was not mentioned on any of the advertising. I figured I could get around this by borrowing a device to try it out and at least see if I liked it, however the app that is able to take care of these measurements isn't made by Samsung and is in an experimental phase. Trying to even use the app involve signing multiple things that is not something that anybody wants to just try out the feature is going to sign up for. Next time Samsung is advertising a feature they need to make sure that feature is actually readily available to its clients before selling the product. Another problem I had was that this watch also left a singeing sensation where the sensor was touching my skin. This leads me to believe that these products may be buggy and effective to begin with because I don't believe a smartwatch should sting while you're wearing it. The device doesn't even have a speaker in it so you can't take calls from the watch unless you're wearing headphones that are connected to the watch and not your phone. If they're connected to your phone your watch just acts as a glorified control. I only give this product of 1 out of 5 because it at least functions as a step counter and heart rate monitor and we'll give your notifications to your rest so you do not have to pull out your phone. However this is pretty much a feature available on any smart watch and many other SmartWatches are much cheaper.

Don't buy for tracking treadmill activity

Bought this to replace and update an aging garmin watch. I run on the treadmill and outside. When I used this to track my treadmill workout, the calories burned seemed way off, so I checked it with a chest strap heart rate monitor connected to my treadmill and with my Garmin Forerunner 35 watch. The galaxy watch active was always 300 to 400 calories low for a one hour run. I asked Samsung how to fix this and after a 6 day wait for a response their reply was that the galaxy watch active doesn't use heart rate or step count to calculate calories. They said whether you go 3 km per hour or 7 km per it will show the same calories burned. I asked if there is a way to change this so it actually uses heart rate and steps rather than just time, and user information. I have been waiting 3 days with no response. I finally just returned the watch while I could still get a full refund. I don't want a watch that won't do what it is supposed to do and what I bought it for. It is a great smartwatch, just not a good activity tracker for treadmill workouts.

Is not accurate at step counting. I didnt buy this pricey watch just so the screen can look pretty. I want to use for fitness but I can walk all over my house and it does not move the steps. I have a newborn so walking back and fourth it should change. It did not. Some users say to move your arm while you walk or dont hold anything with the hand your watch is on. For something this costly you shouldnt have to change your "walk" or not use a hand in order for it to work. I also dont like that it only holds charge for about a day and a half. My fitbit charge 2 would hold for at least 4 or 5 days without needing a charge. Also, because it doesnt hold a charge I have to charge while I sleep therefore it thinks I slept from the time I put watch on charger till when I put watch back on. Again, not reliable. Overall disappointed that it costs $200 and doesnt hold up against competitors. Sadly, I will be returning watch today.

    Not convenient

I was hoping a smart watch would make life convenient - not this one. Exercise : 1. Mileage is OFF by about 15%. 2. When it goes into exercise mode, you have to manually change the watch EVERY time you want to CHECK THE TIME. And if you're trying to fit in an exercise before work, on lunch, before a show, etc. then it's NOT convenient. It's an average of 5 steps jogging to glance at the time to see if I can fit another lap in, 3. Auto pause? No. Trust me, I didn't pause. And the random vibrations for auto pause are frequent and distracting -- just let me run! Messages-- I guess it's cool to see if someone texted you or emailed you. But it takes FOREVER to respond unless you're using a generic one pre-programmed in the watch. Just pick up your phone, it'll take less time. Customer service -- HAHA. "Just read the ____." I did. My question is not addressed. Can you answer my question? No.

Something is wrong with the new Galaxy Watch Active. It’s claims to have better battery life than the Apple Watch series 4. Yet, I have had this watch for less than a week and the battery has died on me 3 times within hours. Last night, I charged it to 100 percent right before bed. I set an alarm, made sure that were no apps running in the background and I when I woke up 7 hours later, the watch was completely dead. Thankfully I set an alarm on my phone too. I took necessary steps to make sure my watch was not running any other programs. I even set the brightness to very low, made sure “watch always on” was off. I do not know if this is an apple IOS thing but I am not happy.

I have received this as an anniversary gift. I was so excited to try it and it's pretty decent compared to other smart watches in terms of tracking heart rate. Sometimes it has a hard time automatically reading your work outs. It sometimes does not let you choose other wprkouts if you have already done other workouts. The battery life is 1.5 days even with the location, brightness turned off amd all the way to 1. My peeve is that a week of wearing it with no drops and bumping into anything it has a sratch already from normal wearing. My husband's frontier watch has been dropped by my son and no sratches whatsoever. This is definitely a fragile watch not exactly as advertised being scratch resistant.

    blood pressure problems

blood pressure only works with S9, Note9, S10, S10+. It even exclude the new S10e. The watch is nice but I bought it for the blood pressure feature and nowhere does it state that will be limited to just those phone models. Sleep tracking needs improvement. It will record me as sleeping when working on computer or watching a movie or tv in my easy chair. I can delete those spurious sleep times but it records them with rem and light/deep sleep cycles which is clearly wrong and call into question the accuracy of the data when I am asleep.

I purchased this smartwatch for my wife about a week ago. I was drawn to the the high end look of this watch and the numerous health features . But the really selling point was the being told this watch has long lasting battery that will run for days on a single charge. THIS IS AN OUTRIGHT LIE, the watch barely does a normal 8 hr work day. I think its about time to return this JUNK and get either Fitbit or Apple watch.

Advertises compatible with "Android 5.0 or higher & RAM 1.5GB above" which is not true. I meet both of those and I do not have a messaging or email function on this watch. My calls come through, I can voice text with voice assist, but I do not get notifications of new text messages and cannot see sent messages. Going to return! If this watch worked with my phone, I would love it. I am so disappointed.

While this watch is attractive, I've never seen such a poor and ridiculous level of functionality for an activity watch. The screen stay lit naturally. To use the music and running feature without constant disruptions and need for reset is nearly impossible. A mess and a miss in my opinion. And surprising as I've always appreciated Samsung's phones and other products.

Inlove the watch and all its features. The only downside side and why i gave it on star is that unless you have it on power saving mode you need to charge it daily. Also after about a month of having it the watch would not charge and i needed to send it in to get repaired. Fortunately they have a warranty so i was not charged for the repair.

I really wanted to love this watch, but the accuracy is way off. On 2 different occassions, it said I had taken 760 steps and I hadn't even taken it off the charger. Heart rate is off by a couple points. The design is nice, battery life is good, and it charges fast, but it's not worth the money. Sadly, I will be returning this watch.

While it's cute and has a lot of cool functions like finding my phone, it does a terrible job of tracking steps or exercise in general. I bought this to replace my fitbit and it sadly does not compare. Not having a speaker its not a suitable phone alternative. Ultimately it was a waste of my money as I got another Fitbit.

Do not buy this watch. Within three weeks of purchase, the touchscreen face has stopped responding. Also, Best Buy will not accept a return after two weeks, so now we get to enjoy the process of dealing with the OEM as well.

I am so mad at this watch. It drains my Google Pixel 2 XL 20% an hour. It isn't intuitive to use at all. The battery life on the watch is terrible. I wanted to love this watch. I'm going to have to take it back. I've only had it three days and it has only made me frustrated.

More often than not when running, the heart rate freezes up, restarting doesn't help. Seems to work better when outside temperature is above 45. The photo shows no reading for an hour.

I got the Samsung Active after returning another brand name watch due to the poor battery life. Today I out my watch on at 8am and by 5pm my watch was at 7% battery life. Is this the same watch that was advertised as having a 24 hour battery life? I am so disappointed.

Hello Adiaha, there are several reasons why your watch may have a reduced battery life. For example, certain apps can increase battery consumption or your Wi-Fi settings may be set to Always on instead of Auto. Please follow this link http://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01003232/ for steps on increasing your battery life. Salesman promoted capability to monitor blood pressure, but watch doesn’t do that. Step counter is very unreliable. Watch hands froze and required factory reset to recover. Don’t buy this dumb watch.
