    My wife had a fitbit, and I bought her the new Rose Gold Gear. Score, right? No, she noticed she wasn't getting as many steps as she normally does, as a teacher. Wore the fit bit at same time, gear watch is significantly and repeatedly off by a couple thousand steps. In some cases, the pedometer seems stuck and does not even work....

    Got this for my wife but ended up returning it. CA I had high hopes on this watch but it doesn't perform the most basic task a smartwatch is supposed to - count steps! Ended up returning it after finding it is a known issue that is not resolved by samsung since its launch.

    I don't normally wear a watch and didn't think I'd like this one, but, with the health app on it, tracking my steps, stairs, calories burned, it keeps me very motivated.

    I am trying to like this watch but the step count is severely off! I usually avg 8-10k steps per day, this watch only recognizes a fraction of my steps when worn on my non-dominant hand. When I wear it on my dominant hand the steps are in line with my fitbit. Very annoying.

    I had Samsung health on my phone but found that I didn't carry my phone everywhere, so never had a accurate step count.

    maybe I got a bad one, but the battery drains kinda fast, takes forever to charge and the step counting is far from accurate : @@@@@@@@

    As a smart watch it was really good more option compare to past models but when it comes to fitness tracker it let me down , it kept missing steps , called samsung about the problem tried all trouble shooting with them in the end they said it could be hardware , unfortunately had to return it back to store

    The step counter is way off. Woke up from sleeping and had already walked 75 steps. Then I have a Fitbit as well and they are 1000's of steps off. When I'm sitting it often tells me that I'm sleeping. Really bummed out.

    I returned this watch twice. It was not counting steps correctly. I bought one, returned it, bought another. Neither counted steps correctly. I did like the rest of the features

    There are many things that I like about my watch. However I would return it if I was not past the return date. The step counter does not count most of my steps, and Samsung does not seem interested in fixing the problem. I am a long time Samsung user,, and I hate Apple, but at least their watches work. Not a happy camper!

    Coming from the Gear S2, I was excited to get the new Galaxy Watch. From a design perspective, it looks really smart, and it's well built. The setup is much smoother then the prior Gear devices, so that was a nice surprise. But unfortunately, the step counter does not work. The device sometimes does not count steps, but overall, it captures only a fraction of my step related activity. I wore both watches (the Gear S2) and the Gear captured all steps, while the Galaxy Watch did not. Called Samsung support, and frankly they were clueless. They told me to reset the device, which I did just to check that box, knowing it would make no difference. Probably will have to return this device, but I will wait a few weeks to see if Samsung provides a software update to fix this issue.

    I have a few issues such as the timer randomly shuts itself off when I need it to keep time. It doesn't count steps accurately.

    Pros: stylish and dependable and I like being able to respond to a text without pulling out my phone. Cons: Really heavy on my wrist, step counter not that accurate, much more expensive than similar products.

    This watch was a gift for my wife who is really into fitness. She loved everything about it but it did not count steps accurately. After searching on-line she determined that this is a flaw that many have complained about. When they fix this issue she will not have to wear a fitbit along with this watch to keep track of her daily steps. All the other features were great but this was a showstopper for my wife. Samsung acknowledges this is a problem but I'm not sure why its taking so long to come out with a new watch without this issue.
