Finally, a worthy upgrade
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Samsung's latest offering, the Galaxy Watch 7 40mm Bluetooth version has made a bold statement. I think this year's Galaxy Watch will put them back in the conversations for top smart watches for 2024. The last couple of years the Galaxy Watch line was stagnant in my opinion. There wasn't a big difference between watches versions 4-6. At least i didn't notice any major changes. After living with the Galaxy Watch 7, I can say that this is the upgrade I needed. Battery Life I can't say enough how greatly improved the battery life is on the Galaxy Watch 7 compared to their previous models. My Galaxy Watch 4 never made it through 1 whole day. I can easily get a day and a half worth of battery life now with the Watch 7. I can even leave on always-on-display and get a full days worth of battery. This is a huge improvement. I did not setup Google Assistant however, as it did cause battery drain issues on my previous Samsung watches. Features Since I have a Samsung phone, I am able to take advantage of all the neat features of the Galaxy Watch 7. I do use the health info that Samsung provides me as a guide to my personal health. Having the ability to attain some of my personal goals I set for myself is awesome. Here are some of my favs: 1. Sleep Apnea feature 2. Energy Score 3. Dual-frequency GPS 4. More efficient processor 5. Workout Tracker I'm super happy with the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 7. This latest version addresses a lot of the issues I had with the prior versions. If you are already in Samsung's ecosystem, this watch is a no-brainer. I would recommend giving this year's version a try. I don't think you will be disappointed with the enhancements Samsung included in the Galaxy Watch 7.

Good combo of features and style
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 3rd Galaxy watch. I have always preferred the smaller size as the bigger watches look like I'm wearing a phone on my wrist. I swapped bands to get a more traditional look, and many people comment on that as they often don't realize it's a smart watch. I would like to see more options for case finish. Brushed SS or brass/chrome plate or such for a more conservative look would be nice.

Another BestBuy best buy!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Comfortable, stylish, easy to maneuver and set up. I thought I would have an issue with the silicon band, but I have found it actually easy to wear.

Notifications are super improved infeel like, also came from a Watch3. But man crisp and light. Really do wish that we get some new battery tech soon to make these bad boys last a Solid 2 days instead of like 1.5 1.6 days.

Great watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great watch, only two downsides are the battery life which would be great if it was a little longer and the bezel is straight drop off causing it to easily get scratched. The actual functionality and look of it overall are great.

Terrible battery in an otherwise excellent watch
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The galaxy watch 7 ticks all the boxes. Great features, classic design, a beautiful bright screen, deep health and workout tracking features, integrations with a ton of apps ... but none of that matters if the battery is always dead (which it is) Out of the box you get the watch with its included band (looks good!), and the wireless charger. Samsung continues to provide the shortest charging cables ever made, and the slowest charging speeds possible. Just slap a type-c port with fast charging on here or something instead of ultra slow wireless charging. This sucks Setup is easy enough. Grab the samsung wearables app, connect to the watch and you're off. You will be prompted to update the watch, and you should. The default watch face is useless to me, as I like to see that "smart" data at a glance. Fortunately samsung has a huge variety of watch faces available that offer high customization and quick access to all of the data you'd like to see. I prefer a minimalist watch face, but I also like having daily activity goals displayed. Luckily there was a perfect face for my use case. There are also paid options but, come on. The samsung "health" app has all of the stuff you would expect: activity goals, heart rate monitoring, step tracking, automatic workout detection etc etc. New to me are the skin temperature, blood oxygen level, sleep apnea detection, and ECG features. You will need to download two apps though to have all of these features, which is both inconvenient and confusing. All of the more traditional features are housed in the samsung "health" app. Not to be confused with the "samsung health" app. Confused? Yeah no surprise. The app that holds most of your features and the one you'll interact with the most is called "health" (from samsung). Sleep apnea detection and ECG are locked behind a separate app called "samsung health" (also from samsung). This is a needless complication that shunts two features into a separate app when they could've just as easily been on the main menu or in a tab of the other app. I have no idea why this was done. It makes no sense. That's most of what there is to the galaxy watch 7, but we have to talk about battery life. It's awful. For four or five days when you go into the wearables app to check out your battery life you won't get that information. Instead you'll see a message stating "learning your usage patterns". The idea here is that the watch will change its behavior based on how you use it. Presumably managing background apps power states and the like, to maximize efficiency. Cool. On my first full day with the watch I get up at 5, walk the dog, and immediately put the watch on the charger when I get back inside. At this point the watch had 24% battery remaining, but I had only used it from 9pm the night before. So I go about my routine, checking emails, having a coffee ... just waiting for the watch to hit 100%. That took almost 80 minutes, well over an hour. This thing charges painfully slowly, no big deal if I'm charging in the morning right? That's the problem. By 6pm on that first day the watch was at 14%. That's 86% battery drain in 13 hours. That feels really bad. I want the watch to be able to capture all of my sleep data so I charge it up when it hits around 10% (which again takes forever). I get up the next morning and it's rinse and repeat for a few days. Then it happens. The watch has learned my usage patterns! Here comes that sweet sweet battery life bump. 17hr and 25 minutes, not bad! Well actually that is kind of bad. If I want the watch to make it to the next morning I'm going to have to charge before bed. Bummer. So I decide to turn down the brightness of the AOD a little bit, disable NFC because I don't save payments to my devices. See how that goes ... nah. Dead by morning. So I give it a full charge, this time taking over 90 minutes, and I go look at my battery and - what have we here??! It now says my battery will get me 16 hours and 43 minutes of time. What happened to that 42 minutes? Oh well, I'm only on day 2 of the battery having "learned" my usage and my battery life is dropping dramatically. This is unacceptable. A smart watch should be, at a minimum, a 24hr device. The galaxy watch 7 cannot come close to that. Oh there are power saving features that promise to extend your up-time, but it involves disabling all of the smart features of the smart watch. What good is 24 hours of up-time if none of the activity data is being captured by the watch? It's just a regular watch ... a regular watch that'll still die in little more than a day. You can't even use it as a regular watch at this point because power saving disables raise wrist to wake. This is unbelievably bad. This is not a good product. Great hardware. Great software. Great design. Abysmal battery life. I cannot recommend this watch to anyone looking to add a wearable to their daily routine. These things should disappear into the background. You shouldn't have to constantly be worrying about your remaining battery life, nor should you have to charge the watch multiple times a day just to eke out a full 24 hours. Samsung missed the boat on this one.

Galaxy Watch 7 Dependable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently received the new Samsung Galaxy Watch7 with Bluetooth. I have purchased many different Samsung smartwatches over the years, and I am pleased with the good quality components used in the latest watch. The Watch 7 works great with the Samsung health app so I can track my heart rate and time spent walking or exercising during the day. I like that it can also monitor your blood oxygen levels throughout the day. I utilize the notifications you can set for when my heart rate is indicator is above a certain level to make sure I am aware that I need to take a break from whatever I am doing so the level can go back down. I also like being able to customize the watch with different display faces along with the variety of apps I have available to use while wearing it. I also like that Samsung makes it easy to change out different colors and types of watch bands that work with the new watch. I needed a bigger size band than what came with my watch and ordered a new one to make it even more comfortable while wearing. Overall, I am very pleased with Samsung’s latest edition of the smart watch products.

Great watch!!! Terrible battery.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful and comfortable. I upgraded from the Active 2 and love all the new features. It's intuitive and easy to customize. It has more exercise modes and better health tracking which is my main focus. The changable screen and straps mean I can dress it up or down for any ocassion. Cons: The battery is basura. The energy and sleep pattern features want you to wear it always but the charge is terrible. Particularly if you use it for workouts while not on power saving mode. You'll need to recharge nightly.

Not for Me, May be for You!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like that Samsung went with an athletic sports band. The style and presentation were very attractive. The display is extremely responsive and snappy. You can see what is being displayed on the watch. The watch is comfy and didn't cause any irritation on my wrist. The color is unique and something different. Different than your average color you see on smartwatches. As far as the functionality of the watch. It's a smartwatch that has all the Samsung watch features that have been in previous watches. I'm not sure I even noticed an upgrade from the previous model. I always enjoyed the Samsung Health feature. It is by far my favorite app while using. That is mainly what I use Smartwatches for. To keep up with my daily steps and workouts. Now for the two main problems I encountered with the Samsung Galaxy 7. When it came to setting the watch up you have to download the Samsung app. Then, I had to give it access to my text, contacts, call logs, and nearby devices. I get some people may enjoy these features but not everyone uses the watch for that purpose. So you can't set up the watch without giving the app access to their permissions. I should be able to select which permissions I want to share with the app and not be locked out of setup if I deselect certain permissions. Also, you have to download a second app to use the watch. So to set up and use the watch you need to download two different Samsung apps. Here is the elephant in the room with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7! It has a terrible battery life. If you're lucky you may get 48 hours of use before you need to charge. Realistically, you will get about 36 hours of usage. This is a huge letdown for such an attractive-looking watch. I don't want to keep taking the watch off to charge every day and a half. I do hope Samsung can fix the short battery life on future models. Because this is a major dealbreaker for me with any smartwatch.

Great Watch, you cant go wrong!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch is excellent. It's easy to use, the user face is simple and it has more than everything i need. The batter on the watch is decent, going almost 2 days between charge, and the band is comfortable. Only thing i dont like and this has been something with all watches, is the voice to text is still lacking. Its a minor thing but for me its frustrating.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had Samsung galaxy watches in the past, and the new watch is definitely an upgrade! The specs work pretty well, and the apps work great especially since I like to track all my workouts and appreciate the ease of getting to and organizing them. I would recommend this watch to everyone, even though I know the galaxy 8 watch will be releasing later this year, you won't be missing out if you decide to get this one instead of the latter!
