Great phone, but not for everyone.

-For the price of what your getting for a phone that can do a feature and folding into a small form factor is great.
-Build quality is great, feels sturdy in the hands and can take a beating. The body does have like a modern boxy feeling where you have more grip. The hinge also looks more subtle than before.
-The display does have a 120hz refresh rate and feels fast, fluid, and shows great contrast of color, compared to the previous generations of the z flip where it only had a 60hz refresh rate but had the same fluid and contrast of color.
-Camera’s are pretty decent for a phone in this form factor. I know that there are other devices out there that can out perform the flip’s camera but I can’t complain since Samsung cut the price 400-500 dollars off from the previous model. Although it would be nice that they did make a new camera system for it but obviously the price would go up.
-Cover display is a big improvement from the previous generation which only had a 1.1 inch display which was pretty mediocre. Now it has a 1.9 inch display which is bigger and more usable than the previous version. You can customize it to your liking and setup your widgets.
-The screen protector and the actual display has been reinforced and has better materials than previous z flip models. The screen feels like an actual glass screen on what you would feel on a regular candybar phone. Now the crease is still there but after using it a bit, you’ll get used to it easily.
-Battery life is not that great to be honest, considering you having a 120hz brighter display and a new processor which can be a power hungry chip is a big deal considering this only have a 3300 mah battery. The phone will lose battery fast if you use gps and if you keep your display brightness high at all times.
-The battery does drain constantly when you first start using the device because it is getting used to your usage patterns which means on what you do on a daily basis and what apps you use the most.
-The phone does get warm because of it being used to do something hard or do gps but that is pretty much on most phones as well but it is a thing to note down.
-I have been noticing a little glitch lately with the Picture in picture feature with youtube. From what it looks like, the refresh rate has an issue trying to run a video and do a different task at the same time which is weird because this has never happened to me on any device but it can most likely be fixed on a software update.
*Overall, this is one of the best flipping smartphones out right now, especially for the price, it is crazy on how this technology is slightly getting cheaper letting out users have the opportunity to purchase it. Even with the slight downsides, you would learn to adapt to it and not notice it except for the battery life of course. I would give this phone a 9.4/10, it has some
things I would want to be fixed in the future version but it is a pretty high grade for a phone like this. There is also a case on the phone which is the official transparent case from Samsung and I would say that it is pretty good for the price.*

I loved this phone at the beginning. After a few months the screen protector starts peeling but Samsung covered a replacement for free. Plus it started having a screen delay. I purchased the phone February 11th and last week the screen went black all of a sudden. I didn't get insurance thinking it would be a great phone as it advertised. Big mistake. Do your self a favor and get the insurance. Took the phone for repairs at a Samsung store location and was told that my warranty was voided due to a small scuff on the hinge of the phone thats been there since a month after purchase. I was so disappointed because I've always bought Samsung phones and appliances and never had an issue till I bought this phone. I regret giving away my 5 year galaxy S8 active just to buy this phone.

This thing is so cool. I'm blown away by the build quality. It feels so sturdy when you're opening and closing it. And when it's open you couldn't tell it's two halves joined by a very robust hinge.
The screen does have a slight "crease" in the middle. But it's imperceptible from a distance. The built-in screen feels more like glass than a soft plastic, which is a major plus.
Overall, it's got great performance, screens, and build. The cameras and speakers are very OK, but not the pinnacles of mobile devices. And the waterproofing with stronger aluminum makes for a very sturdy phone.

I always loved the flip / clamshell form factor and normal candy bar phones were getting boring, not much changes generation after generation. Phone itself is pretty good quality but the flip line has much to improve on and I hope they do it in the next gen instead of dragging it out over several gens, which I'm sure they will to milk it.
The bad:
1) Screen is pretty much plastic even though they say it's glass.
2) Battery life is poor, you will need to charge it a few times a day if you're a heavy user.
3) Doesn't have fast charging, capped at 15w
4) Outer display is larger than previous gen but still not large enough to do much. Also things you can do on it is limited unlike the razr fold that can pretty much open any app.

for the most part it has been a very reliable phone. Works great with my Gear S3. Battery is..fine. Not terrific, but not terrible, given the size. Seems to last about as long as my prior Samsung devices, nothing to write home about, but again its the first generation of relatively new tech. Outer screen is exactly what everyone else pointed out. Useless, save for checking time, battery life, music player, and maybe caller ID. Does get warmer at times than it should.

I had been looking for a smaller (to carry around) yet easy to read and use smart phone. This is IT!! Just the battery is a bit too small and the camera is not as good as those bigger phones..... good "trade-off".

I like the phone; it has held up well. Samsung service is horrible though. They want you to mail the phone in to them for 7-10 days at your expense with no cost estimate provided. If you try to find a local repair place, they void your warranty. The closest approved location for me was >5 hr drive away. Needless to say, I did not send it in.
Camera quality and features is subpar!!

Very nice phone and I like how you can still take photos when it’s folded and the photos come out good. One bad thing is the battery doesn’t last as long as other phones. The folding size is also nice for fitting in pockets and the crease in the center isn’t too noticeable unless you’re looking for it.

Excellent phone. Display is so smooth. Battery drains quicker if u run the screen on 120Hz. Probably you can save the battery and run it entire day without charging on normal use using "Battery saving mode". But it limits the screen refresh rate to 60Hz, which i don't recommend on daily use.

Love my new phone. Decided to just upgrade from the 2nd version. I feel like I've been waiting for ever for a flip phone and so very worth it. If you love Android and are always on the go, then this is it. Slim. Screen is excellent, but make sure to get a case. Afraid outer screen might damage if it falls. My view.

A phone that fits into a way less space! The screen is super crisp, when it’s close fits perfectly inside my pocket, when open the screen is large enough to read texts, emails or watch videos, I always wanted a folding phone, so overall I’m happy with my purchase!

The screen started to separate from the fold after just one year. I contacted Best Buy to try to get support and they said they had no parts available for this. Very sad for over $1000.

It's beautiful, it's so nice how it's built and how it folds. Pretty good material quality. The only bad part are the cameras, if you are not taking selfies, it's pretty much useless. But the selfies are nice

The phone has a great screen & does feel solidly built. The camera isn’t as good as my old galaxy s20 but it does get the job done. Battery life isn’t as good either but it’s not a huge drop off at all. I’ve only gotten to 20% only once so far. I love the size of the phone when closed. My old galaxy s20 was so big in my pocket. I really did not like the size at all. Being able to unfold the screen has been a life changer. Definitely would recommend to anyone wanting something different.
