Pros: The Flip 5 has great battery life (better than the Flip 4 or the Galaxy S22)! The external screen is very useful for checking texts, the weather, calendar, etc, without opening the phone. (MAJOR upgrade from the Flip 4.) Get a phone case with a screen protector for the external screen, though...probably a good idea to keep this phone in a seperate pocket than your keys or change! The phone easily fits into just about any pocket and the indentation where the screen folds is noticeably shallower than the previous model. The usb-c port was also upgraded on this year's model and can be used (with an adapter) to output upto 4K video to a monitor/tv. The 5G, Wifi6e, apps and processing are all seem just as quick and reliable as other high-end smart phones. Cons: the cameras are basically the same as the Flip4 and are pretty mediocre. Low light/night photos from the main cameras and especially, the selfie camera, are pretty dim. (The cameras on my old Galaxy S10 took better pictures, especially at night.) The hinge where the phone bends was supposedly upgraded from the Flip4, but it doesn't seem to hold the phone open as strongly as the pervious model...it require less force to open/close, though that may have been intended as a feature? (I find myself accidently partially closing my screen if I move the phone too quickly in certain directions.) The external screen doesn't support full apps, only widget versions of some apps. There seems to be a bit of lag when taking some photos, but not others, not terrible, but noticeable compared to the Flip4 or Galaxy S22. When trying to access photos saved in the "Gallery" from Facebook or Chrome browser, there's a strange 1~3 second lag before your camera roll will display, which is irritating...that DIDN'T happen on the Flip4. Remains to be seen: The Flip3s and Flip4s had an issue with the factory-installed screen protector eventually bubbling-up and seperating from the screen at the bend after about 1 year of use...hopefully Samsung has corrected that issue. Overall, a great phone, but due to its few short-comings, best to buy this phone when it's on sale.

Upgraded from Z Flip 3 after having that phone since launch for +2 years. There were some notable limitations with the 3 that this solves: -Proper dual SIM support (which I actually needed) -DP alt through USB-C -Front display is usable for what I need it for (mostly) -Mostly seals when folded As much as I loved the Flip3 and now this Flip5, its not something I recommend lightly to people. I would say if you're a person who rarely drops their phone and is comfortable running the device without a case, then the disadvantages are acceptable. Dropping the phone while open could spell disaster (I only ever dropped my Flip3 twice over those two years while open and got lucky both times nothing impacted the screen), so if you fit that mold, then the advantages are likely worth it. Regarding the cover screen, the only applications I use for it involves either replying to messages on Discord/Teams then uses the Messages app or Youtube to watch video. The screen size in Youtube on the front is similar to the folded mode while open, but also giving you the full protection of having the screen closed. I use it everyday for a few hours at least with Youtube. One application that I wish had cover screen support is Spotify, which you can't natively open the full application from. Battery life is better than my Flip3, although I limit the charge to 85%, run static black backgrounds, run the device permanently in Power Saving Mode, and run barely visible brightness on the display, so your mileage may vary. I can get 2 days comfortably with moderate use with that. Without it, I'm not sure, because that's how I've ran my phones since ~2013. For some reason this was on sale for $800 when I bought it, so if you're really on the fence, maybe wait for a $800 or $900 sale. This was shortly after launch which was surprising, but I guess it happens. Just monitor the price for the next few weeks in case there's another sale and BBY will send you the difference if it goes on a lesser sale within the return period.

Great customer service. They had my phone ready for pick up quicker than I expected. At first, I was doubting to go for a flip phone but here we are. The crease in the middle of the screen is pretty noticeable (if you're used to using a slab phone), but after a while, you get used to it and it's not as important anymore. The screen is very bright and the colors are quite vibrant. I did notice that the screen is not as responsive in the crease, but maybe it's just me. I like that it's larger when it's opened than the S21 I had, but when closed it's so conveniently compact that it fits anywhere, especially in the tiny handbags I have. A show-stopper for sure, and the cover screen makes it even more appealing. The phone comes with very limited apps you can use on the cover screen, but if you download the Good Lock app you'll be able to use pretty much any app on it. The only thing I miss is having three cameras, but I guess it depends on what you're more interested in. Good battery life, it lasts me at least a day (it's still pretty new, we'll see as time passes by), I'd recommend getting a Samsung super fast charging block, it charges it completely in an hour or so.

Love this phone so unique with the design and the color options they have are so refreshing. Had this phone for about two weeks now and the camara is so much nicer than expected takes the pictures so good! plus, I love the fact it folds and could put cute themes on the front display as well. If you love to make your phone cute and aesthetic, I recommend this one, they have so many options with the themes.

This phone isn't just compact, it's compact magic. Folds like a dream, fits in any clutch, and unfolds to a gorgeous, immersive screen. Battery life? Apps fly? Camera's a beast? Sure, sure. But the head-turning factor? Off the charts.

This is the best samsung product I have used so far. The battery life is very good. The best thing about this is whenever I want to watch any videos or something, I can just fold it and watch. I don't have to use anything to make it stand. So far very good product and has a great camera quality.

Beautiful phone! Pictures come out great! Fits in my tiny purse and is not bulky. I did purchase a proper case for it for further protection. I love the fact that I don't have to pen the phone to access specific apps as I customized it to be able to access it on outside screen. Loving the new switch as I was ready to try something different and glad I did!

I bought this phone in 2023. I still use it now. The reason I bought it is because I like Samsung, but besides that I still use iPhone. For me, the image on this phone is sharper. In addition, with the convenience of being compact, it is easy to put in your pocket. But a minus point for this phone is that it is too slippery. So you have to be careful when holding it. One thing I like is the battery life is very long. I find the battery life is better than that of the iPhone.

I also love the Flex Mode — it’s surprisingly useful for hands-free video calls, selfies, or watching content without a stand. Overall, the Galaxy Z Flip5 combines style, innovation, and power in a way that makes it stand out from other smartphones. Definitely worth it if you want a phone that’s both cutting-edge and practical.

I needed a new cell phone and was looking to purchase a Samsung Flip 5, as I was a little influenced by watching K-Dramas. I like that it folds in half and can fit in my front pocket (less likely to get stolen from my pocket), but opens up to a full sized android phone. I also needed a newer phone with a newer version of the Bluetooth software to connect with my car. But even so, I tried using Google Maps, but audio directions still won't come over my car's speakers, unless I turn off the music and just connect the phone via Bluetooth individually. It is supposed to interrupt the music to give the audio directions. Perhaps it will work better with the new car that I'm planning to purchase.

The size is absolutely comfortable. Both folded and unfolded. For girls it is very convenient to hide it in a pocket when folded. Now there are cases with a ring, which is very convenient. The battery is quite enough. You need to understand that this is a very convenient phone for girls and not for gamers, although the phone is very fast. The performance is sufficient. Convenient to charge wirelessly. Samsung's seem to be made for him. There is a lot of memory, no need for external memory. The external screen is an amazing thing that helps a lot, photo, recording, alarm clock, time, calendar, music. Without opening everything. Especially the photo. Seeing yourself from the main lens is of course... a bomb. again, if you’re filming yourself in a landscape, you don’t need a tripod, fold it in half and shoot. It takes a long time to tell jokes with the phone. In my opinion, this is a breakthrough, just like Motorola came up with the riser clamshell, only even better. I recommend going to the show room and touching it with your hands.

Typical awesomeness of a flagship Galaxy device in a foldable format. The cover screen is great for quick replies to messages and checking your notifications. Folds flat to fit great in your pocket. The crease where it folds is noticable but visually not distracting and does not affect functionality.

Coming from the iPhone 14 Pro, this Flip 5 had a high bar to live up to. It exceeded many of the areas I expected it to fail in, and failed to meet my expectations in other areas. The battery life and general smude-heavy finish are my only gripes here - I have to keep the phone on Battery Saver when not plugged in in order to get a true full day's use out of it. However, the form factor and the fun-factor make it so that I don't care about the small sacrifices I have to make in those areas. Even the cameras perform well in most conditions. My only small nitpick there is the inability to use flash when the ultra wide camera is enabled. Overall, this blazing fast little phone is so much fun, and I would recommend it in a heartbeat.

The processor can really struggle sometimes, even when there isn't that many apps up. The foldable gimmick is pretty nice, though. Screen protectors for it, though, are awful, and the other side gets dirty often. Camera looks amazing on this phone

As a person that wants to Try new. things, this smartphone allows me to. I have more space and portability with my device and gives great camera quality And battery life.

I am an avid Apple user but this phone makes me want to switch everything. I love the compact size and the camera quality just blows me out of the water!!

Phone was great they style and all. Issue we had was with the inner screen. After 5 months and well taken care off a white line is on the screen and calibration is off. ALWAYS BUY protection on your devices just dont go based that the 1 year manufacturer warranty will cover it all.

I was an Apple user before this phone. I'd had a Galaxy S3 once, back in the day, hated it, went to Apple, and never even thought the word Android. But man, that Galaxy Flip was cool looking. So I gave it a shot. And I will NEVER LOOK BACK!! I was so sure I'd hate it, but after a day, it was so easy to figure out and use. I don't miss my iPhone at ALL. The only downside is the battery life--this doesn't hold a candle to my iPhone for battery life, but it really doesn't matter as I'm always near a charger. Long story short: this phone is awesome! If you're on the fence, go get it!!

I'm the type of girl that doesn't upgrade her phone often but this phone has all the new features i was looking for to upgrade from my old phone which was a Note 8 so thats saying something. I've had it for 6 months and i love all new tech. Screen mirroring, screen recording and multi screen are definitely my favorite. I even bought a wallet case from amazon so technically i merged my hand clutch with my phone and its so convenient and small enough that everything fits in my pocket and girl pockets are small not lik guy pockets if you know what i mean. Plus its green my favorite color.

I've always owned Samsung phones so I wanted to try out the new Flip 5. After unboxing it, it just looked amazing. Then, turning it on is even better. It performed awesome, justifying its price. People find the fold like a gimmick but it's such a useful gimmick. The fold helps with portability and the front screen had great usage as well when folded. Also, being able to take "selfies" with the rear camera is great. Overall, I've had a positive experience with the phone so far.
