Good replacement for my Polar FT4

My FT4 died and I no longer had a watch. I spent a lot of time debating getting another one or trying something new. I am glad that I opted to get this watch. The heart rate monitor isn't as accurate, but close enough, plus I have a step monitor, sleep monitor, stair monitor, and notifications from my phone. I love that feature; however, I didn't realize that I had to manually update the watch after updating the software and it took me a bit to figure out how to do that. The other thing I miss is a date function on the watch, but all in all I am happy with this smart watch and would recommend it as an entry level.

Thsi GearFit 2 packs punch. It is very easy to navigate and also provides very accurate information. I am using it everyday and I am pleased that it gives me all the stats I need for my workout, besides the other features like phone calls , etc.

My husband bought me this to help me keep track of my workouts, steps, calories, etc. This watch is pretty accurate in keeping up with reps and the different workouts I do. I have had this for approx. 2 months now. It works great and keeps track with just about everything and is much better than the cheaper fitbits. I really cant even compare to a fitbit because it is by far better. I love how you can see who is calling your phone, get and sent texts, and you can even view pictures sent to your phone via text on the watch. It is awesome! I love it!!! There is just so much you can do with it!

Hardly ever used this product because it isn't very user friendly. Have recently returned to Samsung because it will not charge on the charging station. We will see how it functions when it is returned.

I"ll start by saying that I was very hesitant to make the purchase due to the number of people who complained about the band unsnapping and even falling off. However, I figured I would at least give it a try and see how it worked for me. Overall, I'm glad I did. I have the small sized version and it fits nicely on my wrist. I've worn it almost every day for about month. I do not sleep with it on, unless I happen to have it on when I doze off on a weekend nap. :) I also don't wear it in the shower or get it wet. The good: It has never come unsnapped or fallen off my wrist, even though I've worn it through at least 5 tennis matches. The band is comfortable and I barely know I'm wearing it, especially since I used to wear a regular watch quite frequently. The glass face has been bumped and has hit a couple of objects but remains scratch free. I think the navigation of the different screens is easy and I like the set of default screens available. I have not tried any of the optional, downloadable screens yet. Setting up customizable workouts is pretty easy as well. The not-so-good: The accuracy of the step counter and heart-rate monitor are... well... "good enough" for me. I don't need something that is 95-100% accurate. I'm just curious about my activity and not interested in gaining/losing weight or trying to meet specific fitness goals. By doing my own comparisons, even with my Galaxy Note 4, I've found the step counter to be about 85% accurate. Some days it is more accurate than others. It is less accurate when I'm not moving my arm/wrist as much when I walk. For instance, if I have my hand on a shopping cart as I walk around a store, it tends to miss a lot of steps that my phone will more correctly measure. But on long walks the step count difference between my phone and this tracker is less than 1%. The floor counter is also about 80% accurate. Some days it will get every floor correct (which for me is going up and down the steps in my house). Other days it will get about 50%. I haven't quite discovered the key to getting it to work better, but for me this is good enough. The same goes for the heart-rate monitor. I think it is usually within 5 beats/minute accurate. I don't check the accuracy when exercising or playing tennis, though. I don't pay any attention to the calorie burn counter. When I first put the device on in the morning it usually already has at least 500 calories or more displayed as being burned. I'm sure I burned some while sleeping, but to me it's not that important. Overall, I think it is a very good product especially if you are happy with the measurements being "good enough" and you aren't too concerned about 95-100% accuracy.

Yes, this is a great product. Along with it being a watch, it keeps track of her activities, walking, climbing stairs, heart rate and such. Also she is a big Facebook fan, so it notifies her when something happens, and of course phone calls too.

Good for tracking elliptical, heart rate, calories burned, and sleep. Best thing is it alerts with text message, text, or call. Much nicer than other fitness trackers. Somewhere between a fitness tracker and smart watch. Don't wait, buy it.

This watch is great! It tracks steps, calories, workouts and heart rate. You can also sync your android phone to it to receive text, emails and various notifications. All without having to use a computer! Battery life is good as well.

I am a little disappointed with the music connection. I had hopes of playing Amazon Music without my phone in my pocket but no luck. You can answer your phone with the watch but the speaker on your phone needs to be accessible or headphones in.

Great functions, beautiful screen. Getting notifications on my wrist feels great. I can glance over a message without interrupting a conversation. Notification for exercise and controlling my music during work outs also feels great. The only downside is the battery. I find that it sometimes only last a day and a half, and that's with the Heart-rate sensor turned off. So be prepared to put the watch on the dock every other night The wristband is ok, but doesn't breath to much. I bought an aftermarket wristband with a magnetic clasp and preferred that.

The band's gets bumped and comes undone. Still haven't figured it out so well. It's nice to have my alerts show up. Just would recommend a different band.

So I've been an avid user of Fit bit products the last 4 years, the last product I had was the Fit bit Blaze. The Gear Fit 2 is very similar with what is available for tracking, alarm, etc. Where the Gear Fit 2 excells over the Blaze is in how it syncs with your phone allowing calls, texts, calendar to notify on your watch. Where it it performs poorly is in battery life (only 2 days until recharge compared to the 5 days with the Blaze) and heart rate/calorie monitoring. My heart rate and calories are a fraction of what results I was getting on the Blaze.
