Excellent fitness band and smart watch in one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Samsung Gear Fit 2 is a great fitness band and also a fantastic smart watch. It has all the features of a fitness band like step counts, floor ascension counts, constant heart rate monitoring, GPS tracking, sleep tracking, reminders to get off the couch and get moving, and and app for tracking all of that information. It also has many smart phone features like seeing all of my phones notifications, reading and responding to text messages, seeing timers and alarms, a find my phone feature, mp3 player, and more. It has a few GB of internal storage for mp3s that I can listen to with Bluetooth headphones while I run. The battery lasts 2 full days, including wearing it during the night for sleep tracking. The charger is a very handy, little, magnetic dock which makes it easy to set the watch on to charge. It also charges very fast, going from empty to full in just a couple hours. Overall this is both a great fitness band and smart watch.

Great gadget
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a gift for my wife to replace another brand device that was for serious athletes. This is a much more general and user friendly device. She really likes the features, especially now that there are more widgets available for it. He only complaint isthat the band can easily become undone @ the device. If you push open a door for instance with an arm full of groceries, you might dislodge the strap. The clap is ok, but could also do a better job. Other than that she finds it easy to use and vary familiar navigation style for ambrose users. This will work for beginners and intermediate athletes. If your super active and training for an IM you might want the other brand *G* device. NO HEARTRATE STRAP NEEDED! This was a must for her. It seems pretty accurate.

Awesome fitness/Smartwatch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After having to return my Basis Peak due to their recall, I did a lot of research on a new watch to replace it. After reading reviews both on this site and on others, I decided to go with the GearFit2, and I couldn't have made a better decision. It is small and lightweight, I sometimes forget I am wearing it. I love the design and the ability to customize the faces and fitness options to your liking. It has the ability to track many types of workouts and even gives you little shoutouts at your chosen interval during a workout to keep your motivated. The heart rate monitor is very accurate, as well as the steps! I use it with my Galaxy Note 5 and it works flawlessly. The only downside I would say is not tracking the actual cycle of sleep you are in, but I can't take away a star just for that. I would absolutely recommend this watch!

My best friend
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Fit 2. I wear it all of the time. It charges quickly and I love seeing how I slept each night. It can take my heart rate whenever I want. The best feature is when I have my phone muted (like when I'm working) I can still know and see my texts and calls.

Lots of Features for a Reasonable Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to replace my Microsoft Band (since Microsoft is not making new versions anymore). I also have the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge phone so the integration between the 2 devices is a nice bonus. Overall, I'm pleased with my selection - but I do really miss the Microsoft Health App. Samsung's S Health app does not provide as much tracking information in comparison. For example, I miss seeing my heart rate graph overlaid with my sleep chart. The full color screen is very nice and I really like being able to select different faces. GPS mapping also works very well and it is nice that you can even see a mini map on the GearFit. The basic functions are pretty easy to understand, but not everything is well documented, so more advanced functionality might require some effort to track down. You are able to easily customize which notifications are sent from the phone (at least with the S7 edge), so not every phone notification is sent to the GearFit. There is a "Do Not Disturb" mode that can be used to disable notifications, but at night when sleeping, I prefer to turn off Bluetooth and Wireless - which is easy to do on the GearFit. There are "Health Nudges" that can be turned on or off to alert you if you have been inactive for 50 minutes. I like this feature since it reminds me to get up an move some.

Nice!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lasts for about 3.5 days between charges;would rate 5 stars if I didn't have to charge so often. I like that it connects to my phone and apps without problems, interaction with app and device is easy, seems to be accurate, and is visually pleasing with lots of features. It would be even better if there was a button to lock the screen. Overall, I like it!

My experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently was able to try the S2 fit. I was in process of comparing it with another leading brand. (FITBIT) Since I own many other Samsung products I chose S2. It has been a true companion. I am able to monitor my heart rate, steps, various exercises and even caffeine and water intake. Over all I am extremely satisfied! Like many products I did have my dislikes. I found the battery life not to be as great as expected but it did last me all day. However, if you use turn off bluetooth it does save battery life!

Good But Could Be Better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like all the features that the Gear Fit 2 offers. The display is beautiful, the bluetooth capabilities and range are great and it seamlessly synced to my (android) phone. I made the switch from FitBit to enjoy all the extra features Gear Fit2 offers. Unfortunately, much like my first FitBit, the Gear Fit2 basically fell apart about 6 months after purchase with totally normal use. They are both made from the same material and it does not seem to hold up well on the longterm. On my Fit2, first the frame around the screen came apart but it didn't interrupt use so no big deal. Then the screen around the underside sensor fell off. Still worked so I didn't mind too much. Then on a walk and the device completely reset itself, as in factory reset without me touching a thing. Next day it wouldn't turn on and the glue fell off one of the bands My first FitBit also stopped working within the first year in but FitBit has great customer service. With the Gear Fit, I learned Samsung does not have even good customer service. They said they I would need to send in the gear fit for assessment and then I would need to pay for any repair needed despite being under warranty still. If your Gear Fit2 stays together and functioning it is great and I would recommend it. But if you had bad luck like me, then it sucks to feel like you wasted $150 on a device that lasts less than a year.

Over Priced but Great Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Gear Fit 2 because I did not want to carry my phone while I work out. It worked great for this because it meant I didn't need my phone to track my workout. Instead, I would just look at my wrist. If you are a runner I would highly recommend the Gear Fit 2. It tracks your sleep really well too, you can set the Gear Fit to track your heart rate continuously. I found this very useful.

The okayest fitness watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We each received a fit gear 2 free during a promotion they had with the samsung note 7s, and I love mine! My boyfriend has had issues with the band coming unsnapped while he is at work, and at one point even fell off of his arm without him knowing. I haven't had any issues like that with mine. I believe it is one of samsungs lower end models and, even at that, sells for around 200 dollars. I love that it monitors my sleep if I wear it to bed, and that I can track my workouts as well as heart rate changes throughout the day/night. And that it all sincs with my s health app, for easy reviewing. Could have a more stylish look, I suppose, and work with the mapmywalk app.. that would be great..

Easy To Use Smart Watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband got this for me for my birthday. I've been wanting a smartwatch to track fitness, especially my running distances and pace. I have found that this watch is great for that plus more, including blood pressure and sleep. It connects to my Droid phone easily enough and syncs data through that. I don't use it daily to count steps, but it does do that as well as how many floors you go up and down. I like how easy it is to listen to my music straight from the watch too, even Spotify. My only irritation is that I can't set intervals on the watch itself or through my app. I still need a running app for that sort of thing. I wish that they would update it so I could set it up like that, and if you can already I have not figured it out after extensive use. Overall though, it does what it should and is much more accurate than my running app.

Samsung gear fit 2 is a great activity tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really like how durable the screen is, I waitress and have banged it against plenty of things and the screen is still in perfect condition. Accurately tracks steps, you can put your water and caffeine intake, and it takes your heart rate automatically. Overall it’s a great product. Also love that you can link it to your phone and receive texts and notifications.

Great Tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this tracker as a gift after 2 Fitbits fell apart. This one is holding up very well. It also has more features and is easier to read than the Fitbit. It keeps up with my exercise activity very well. The step count is not 100% accurate, but I'm not sure there is any tracker that is. I like how you can choose which notifications to receive from your phone. You need to charge it every couple of days, but it does charge pretty quickly. I do wish it synced with the "Rally" app used by my Health Insurance company, but it wouldn't keep me choosing this over another tracker...that's just a "wish".

More than just an activity tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In addition to tracking your steps, heart rate, food/water intake, and sleep quality, you can also answer your phone and check emails and text messages, just like Agent 99. I often have to keep the volume on my phone off and with this fitness watch it vibrates on my wrist, letting me know that I have an incoming message or call. I can also delete emails from the watch, which I think is a great feature. It also knows which exercise your doing and switches automatically when you go from one activity to another. Another feature that I really like is the ability to use Spotify, especially at the gym. I keep the phone on my arm and with wireless headphones I don't have the ear-bud cord getting in the way (this is a great feature for me because I manage to hook the cord on everything I walk by). If I want to skip, replay, change genres, etc., I can do it right from the phone. I have no regrets buying this watch.

Great fitness tracker, but limited...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After owning this device for about 10 days I decided to return it. Don't get me wrong, it is a very nice device. I like the fitness features, and there are so many exercise choices to choose from. I like that you can add music to the device and listen to your tracks with out having your phone on you. (However it does require Bluetooth headphones) The screen is vivid and I never had to turn the brightness up to 10 even when outdoors. Step counter seemed to work fine (although sometimes I noticed it stopped counting steps randomly through out the day). I really only have 2 major complaints about it. While you can pair this device with any Android smartphone, you are severely limited in the apps/watch faces that show up in the Samsung store. With my Nexus 6P I had only 8 watch faces to choose from. When I paired it with the Samsung S7, there were over 30. Apps were the same way, about 4 showed up in the store for the Nexus, but many more appeared once it was connected to a Samsung phone. Most importantly: (my major reason for returning the device) The band design on this thing is clearly flawed. I cannot tell you how many times the band popped out of place almost causing the device to fall off. Sometimes I noticed when it happened, but other times I just noticed something felt off and looked down to see the device hanging off my wrist. Thankfully the band has a built in loop or this thing would have dropped a ton (and I only wore it for 10 days!). Until Samsung makes an option to replace the band I really cannot recommend this product. This device really is an improvement over the original Gear Fit but the band and limited app/watch face options on non Samsung phones outweighed all the positive things that I liked about this device,

Love the screen/display!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this as part of a package deal when I bought my Note 7. I previously used a FitBit Flex. This has more functionality, and the display is nice. I wish there were more of a community like the FitBit one for challenges, but it's not a deal-breaker. The battery life isn't as good as my FitBit, but with a larger display AND color, I'd expect that. The wristband has a habit of falling off my wrist at least once or twice a week, but that has been the only real issue for me. I love that it has GPS! All in all, I love it.

Promising but Falls Short
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch had every feature I was looking for: fits and looks OK on small wrists, GPS capable so that I can leave my phone at home, advertised 3-4 days battery life, and auto-tracks fitness activity; all for an affordable price <$200. I really wanted to like this watch, but Samsung released this gear immaturely, in my opinion. To start, GPS continues to search for my location 15-20 mins into my exercise. And don't plan on relying on the GPS for direction because you can't even see the map that shows up on the ads until after you're connected to your phone via bluetooth. What a disappointment :( Battery life lasted barely 2 days with moderate use (I had the GPS off for most of the day and on only for exercising, which was about 1-2 hours per day). I tested that without GPS enabled ever, I can stretch the battery life to 3 days, and 4.5 days if I kept it on Power Safe Mode -- which is not ideal since Power Safe mode basically turns this thing to a pedometer. Auto-tracking fitness activity is nice... but it often told me that I was biking when I was actually driving, on the highway, at 60mph! I have never measured my speed while biking, but I'm pretty sure I can't bike at 60mph! Also, since I kept the GPS mostly off to prolong batter life, when I start running, it fails to automatically turn on the GPS feature. So there goes data for yet another run. Overall, the only pro I have for this item is that I liked the way it looks. As for all the other features, Samsung needs to get cracking if it wants to compete with Fitbit and the like.

Great Samsung watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great fit watch. It tracks steps and calories, it allows you to track your workout and heart rate, and add caffeine and water intake. You can also read and reply to text messages with pre-set texts. You can personalize the screen by downloading watch faces. Connect with friends and compare steps counts. I would only change 2 things so far: 1. The clasp on the band. Holding my wiggly 2 year old, knocks it off my wrist all the time. It is water proof, but when it comes off, in the pool, it sinks immediately. 2. It tracks sleep, as in it just says you were asleep from this time to this time. It does not say if you were restless or up a lot at night. I would like to know when I move at night also. Other than these two things, I think this is a good buy!

Amazing set of functions, relatively small package
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have found this to be a very comfortable fitness tracker with an amazing array of functions. Storing music and linking to wireless headphones was seamless and straightforward. It has just about every feature I could want. I am not sure of the heart rate monitor accuracy, as there have been times when the readout on the tracker has been quite a bit higher than my pulse at that time, but that may have been a timing issue. Like that the percentage battery life left is displayed on the tracker, however, that wouldn't be such an advantage if it didn't go through power quite so rapidly. I haven't tried any of the real power saving approaches, but I'm getting a little over a day of battery life after charging to 100%. Overall, I like it. Would recommend with caveats.

Love It
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this watch, it is functional and comfortable. I have small wrists and do not wear large bracelets/watches, but have easily adjusted to wearing the watch. It allows me to track my fitness, auto detects workouts, guides me through sets and reps of various programmed workouts, tracks my heart rate, steps, floors climbed, etc. What I really love is that it also shows my notifications and allows me to either answer calls while retrieving my phone or decline them without having to bother, and allows me to send simple replies to text messages when needed. It even has the weather! All in all, a great purchase and a good value for the price. Very easy to learn how to use.
