    Most disappointing purchase of 2018

This product fails, almost completely, to do what it's designed to do. Oh, there are some good points. The OLED touch screen is a revelation compared to Fitbit's crappy monochrome screens. And having onboard GPS and music capability is nice, but since I almost always have a phone with me not terribly important to me. And it does seem to count steps pretty accurately.And..... that's about it. What does it fail at?  Well, it's totally incapable of recognizing a flight of stairs. I live in a typical American home with 8 foot ceilings. I typically go up and down the stairs about 10 times a day. The Pro 2 rarely counts more than 5. Sometimes as few as 2. It even sometimes fails to recognize the 12 foot flight of stairs at my gym. These forums are full of complaints about this problem on all of Samsung's wearables, and Samsung ignores them. The HR sensor might as well be a random number generator. When exercising, it has no relationship to my actual heart rate. I've compared it to a Polar chest strap monitor, which I've verified by comparing it to my manually taken pulse. On an elliptical trainer, the Pro 2 generally runs 20 to 40 bpm below actual. I've gotten off and had the Gear say my PEAK HR was 20 bpm below what the Polar shows as my average. For whatever reason, though, sometimes the Gear jumps up and shows numbers 30, 40, even 50 bpm higher than actual. It's shown my peak HR at over 190 bpm. I think I'd be dead if that happened. When weightraining, the Pro 2 varies from about 20 bpm too low to 20 bpm too high, and everywhere in between, at random. Sometimes it goes up when I'm resting and my HR is going down. Sometimes it just seems to get stuck on one number, no matter what my actual HR is doing.   Oh, and it's supposed to automatically go on continuous HR monitoring when I start an exercise program, but that doesn't seem to work either. If I manually take my HR during exercise, it will show a number much closer to actual than the "automatic" reading.  Battery life sucks. I have the HR sensor set to "Frequent," and if I don't go to the gym I can go about 3 1/2 days between charges. But if I spend 90 minutes a day at the gym (with the HR sensor on Continuous during exercise), which is typical, I can barely get 2 days of battery life. My old Charge 2, which had it's own problems, easily went 4 to 5 cays when I went to the gym every day.  And while it's nice that I can see so much information on the watch itself, it does make the UI cumbersome. To start an exercise program, for example, takes something like 7 button presses, taps and swipes to start. Even stopping an exercise takes 3 actions, which seems like at least 1 too many.  I'd fine things like the UI and battery life to be less annoying if the device did what it's supposed to, but it just doesn't.  It's no better than (maybe worse), than a $30 fitness band. At $200, it's a complete ripoff.

I really, really thought I would fall in love with this device. Waterproof, lightweight, with a vivid display, and featuring 3+ day battery life? What more could I want?! Unfortunately, I quickly ran into several problems that prevented me from even using the device as it was intended--let alone enjoying it--over the 8 days that I tested it. After a few days, the Bluetooth connection to my phone began cutting in and out for no apparent reason (despite the fact that my other Bluetooth devices, like headphones and a Fitbit I was using for comparison purposes, stayed connected no problem). Battery life was also WAY worse for me than was advertised. I would barely get 24 hours of battery when I had location/wifi on and screen brightness turned to level 6-7 (it comes set at 7 out of the box). Even at minimum brightness and with location/wifi off and several app notifications toggled off, I was only ever able to squeak by with a little over 2 days of usage (45-46 hours). Not the worst ever in the world of wearables, but definitely not even close to what Samsung advertised as the battery life for "typical usage." I see more positive reviews on the Fit2 Pro on various retailer sites, so I'm not sure if I got a lemon, or if Samsung is having some quality control problems with the manufacturing of this device. But in any case, I am disappointed with my purchase and would not recommend. I am mulling over the purchase of a gear S3 or the upcoming gear sport... We shall see!

Love the watch BUT then I didn't

band broke 4 weeks after I got it. defective part. It broke where the screws go into the plastic, cracked from being over tightened. i was wiping the band carefully with a microfiber cloth and it just fell apart in my hands. I absolutely loved this Mothers Day gift and was extremely gentle and over protective of it. Best Buy said sorry its past 14 days. Samsung said yes send it in we will fix it. After 10 days I get an email saying it was $70 for the band. I just got my watch back today, It is completely reset and the band isn't even put on! I have Samsung everything and love it. Never needed service before. I love the watch just do not send it to get the band done. I wish I had just bought a band off Amazon and been done with it. So why I love it, its a reality check. I know why I am not losing weight, It tells me everyday how much I didn't do LOL Had I written this review before the repair service I would give it 5 stars. That's why the low star rating but I would recommend. Watch is great, band and service suck.

I have had the Gear Pro for 3 days now and I am going to return it. The battery will hold up for 2 days before you need a charge. It's odd most things you have to program from your watch but the watch doesn't retain blocks that your phone has set up so emails at 2am, blocked by phone will vibrate on your watch. If you go to spin class this watch will not work, doesn't track steps while in class, where phone alone will if you are standing up on the bike. Watch will override the phone when it comes to tracking. If you sweat the heart rate will not work. Even after numerous times clearing the back of watch and placing it back on (very tight) when you press the button to get heart rate it will tell you to check and clean the back of the watch again. Going back to my Polar heart rate monitor.

    Misleading feature (Water Resistant)

Misleading feature. Definitely not water friendly. Watch stopped working after less than 10 minutes in a swimming pool. Watch turns on, gets hot and turns off. Sent it back for repair under warranty. I was told that it was beyond repair because the board shows liquid damage. As far as I know, water is a liquid. One of the main features of this wearable is that it is water resistant up to 50 meters. My arm is not even a meter long. I guess I will have to put my hand inside a zip-lock bag or swim in empty polls. I'm glad Samsung doesn't make cars. They will offer a 50,000 miles warranty as long as you don't drive it.

Doesn't work with my running apps.

I bought the Fit2 Pro to replace my old Heart Rate Monitor, but after a week I still haven't been able to get heart rate info on Runkeeper or Strava. They claim that it works with these apps, but only appears to accept data from the apps and doesn't push heart rate to the apps. It is a nice watch and being able to see steps and heart rate instantaneously is really neat. I get a full day of battery on one hour of charge. I'm returning it today and will be looking for something else, or waiting for the service to be added.

I got this watch to sync with my Samsung phone and to monitor my fitness activity. Returning texts is a pain. Phone calls can only be accepted or declined. If you accept you have to pick up your phone and use it, no talking through the watch. For fitness it is inaccurate and does not track location unless you have your phone with you! Scratches Very easily.

    So outdated in 2019

This is a disappointment purchase, even at a steal price. I brought this to be used as a sleep tracker but the fit is not comfortable. I did end up purchasing Galaxy Active, which is far more versatile and comfortable to wear all day. The software is also limited and so not up to the mark in 2019. Save it and buy something more updated.

Not satisfied with this product all. When using the stopwatch feature, the battery would only last about an hour or so. After three months of use, it completely died. I couldn't return it to the store because it was after the return period. Trying to deal with sending it back to Samsung was worthless. I just ended up throwing it away.

I loved the functionality of this watch, however, things broke down in the first 6 months. First the strap holder broke, then I had to keep cleaning the contact charge with alcohol repeatedly to get it to charge. Finally the whole watch snapped in half at 12 months of ownership.

The look and feel of the watch is awesome. It is sleek, and lightweight. The software on the other hand.....complete trash. Step count stops (and doesn't catch up I'll add) for extended periods. I reset the watch 3 times, got with support, nothing. Battery life is terrible as well. Returning today.

I'm so bummed! The idea is great, features are awesome, if only it was accurate. I have two sets of stairs in my home but end up with zero floors every day. The steps are also extremely off. I can't return it because it's been almost three weeks and Best Buy only takes returns within two. Complete waste of $200.

Pros, answers calls and texts. Cons, Bluetooth connection distance shorter than expected, 20 min to connect to phone, battery life about a day and a half not 3 like they claim, menu too small, and I get a rash from it. Seems like they went backwards when they made this one.

Doesn't sync to iPhone as advertised. Had to return. In order to get any notifications you have to re-sync it to your phone each morning. I purchased this because I love the Samsung Fit and it said it would work with iPhone, that is false. I have since returned this and will try out the Fitbit Ionic.

I really liked this watch but it's not the best. Had 2 in 2018 because they don't even last 6 months. The last one stopped tracking my steps. Samsung fitness watches aren't the best because they are always having an issue.

I bought this Smart watch for my wife. It performed all the functions she wanted. It especially looks good on a woman's wrist. Although I'm sorry to say it stopped working after only 2 months.

The Gear Fit2 Pro is too big for my wrists(6.25"), overhangs my wrist leaving a gap before curving down. This makes it too bulky to fit under sleeve cuffs or even under my jacket.

I bought this watch to wear running and was very disappointed. The heart rate and GPS seem wildly inaccurate. Have been unsuccessful in connecting to any third party app. Would not recommend for iPhone user.
