    VR Won't Work After First Day

    Still highly buggy and the phone it is being marketed for, the S7, only works about 1 in 10 tries and only then if you use your thumbs to put extra pressure on the connection. Bought the Samsung VR, the indicated Bluetooth controller best rated for it, and already had a Samsung Galaxy S7. After the first day, the VR will not recognize my phone being plugged into it unless I use my thumbs to apply pressure. This usually only even works after 45-90 minutes of going back and forth between pressing "Enter VR" in the Oculus app and it going straight to a black screen for 1-2 minutes, then back to the screen where I just pressed the Enter VR but now everything is sideways in the VR and no button on the controller allows you to simply click Enter VR. Clearly it's supposed to recognize when it's plugged into the VR, but it simply doesn't. Without it recognizing the phone it is being marketed for, it basically can't work properly. And this is the second day. If you buy this product, probably 50/50 the one you get won't work, even with the correct phone and controller, and you'll end up hoping you can exchange for a replacement (good luck) or a refund. Why waste your time? In a year they'll probably have a version not so buggy.

    My kids, husband, and I used the demo VR and we all loved it, so we bought one for my son's birthday. Unfortunately, even though we have a Galaxy S6, which is compatible with the VR, the VR would not work with my husband's phone and the store couldn't figure out why. They tested our VR with the phone being used in the floor model and the VR we purchased worked. Then they tested our phone in the floor VR model and it did not work. The Samsung Rep surmised that the port in my husband's phone must not be working properly, even though it charges just fine. So we returned the VR because we were not in the market for a new phone at this time. So even if your phone is compatible, definitely test your phone in the VR because apparently even the slightest wear and tear on your data port will cause the VR to not work with it.

    I received the Gear VR free with my Samsung S7 and was pretty pumped until I tried to use it. This product design is poor to say the least. First off you need to remove your phone from the case, I have an Otter case. Constantly removing the phone wears out the case fast, $50 investment. If you wear corrective lenses for reading (I have progressive lenses), it is impossible to focus correctly because you can only look down (reading correction) and be in focus. I have different corrections for each eye. If I do not wear my glasses I cannot adjust the focus to work with both eyes a t the same time. To use it I have to have one eye closed all the time. If it did not come free I would be demanding my money back. Total disappointment.

    Wasn't told at time of purchase that certain phones were required to use this device. After purchase was when this was discovered. During this time we purchased a new home and was moving. After the move, tried to return the item because I didn't want to purchase a new phone. The only way the store would accept this return was to give me a gift card. I didn't want a gift card that I would most likely not use. Not happy with this policy at all. Also have made posts to FB in regards to your policy. I will not EVER enter your store again or make another purchase from you online. This is NOT how you treat a customer and expect more business from them.

    I was excited to purchase and use this device. However, as is usual at my local store, the sample device was not working. That should have been my first clue. This was the second time i had tried to test this at the store with my Note 5. But i went ahead and made the purchase. First of all, if you wear glasses, you are already at a disadvantage. With or without glasses you cannot focus this thing to be clear. And apparently the Note 5 overheats like crazy! I was terribly disappointed with this. Lack of clarity, overheating, image jumping around and not staying centered, etc. As the title says, not worth it. Will likely return it.

    I don't watch much TV but find myself exploring the world, going to concerts and watching sporting events for hours literally wasting time. Love the experience. The white on the inside is annoying and should be black. In between the lenses is lent and pieces of I don't know what right in the viewing range which totally ruins the experience like a scratch on your favorite sunglasses. I tried to disassemble and fix but just deal with it.

    I never could get the product to perform the way it was supposed to. I even returned it in exchange for another one just like it. Once I installed my phone it never took me to the menu it was supposed to. I never used it since then. I would like to know why it didn't work. I even called customer support and they couldn't help either. All the reviews said it was a good product. I just don't understand. why it didn't work.

    It's not even close to being worth the purchase. So far I can watch 3 to 5 seconds then it freezes. The picture is always pixelated and my phone is hot after about 10 minutes (Galaxy S7). It has great potential but it is too frustrating to use. I tried to watch 24 Legacy prequel but the picture was so bad and the video stopped every 2 to 3 seconds. Don't bother at this time.

    I received this as a free gift with my phone. The $50 gift card that came with it was no good once I scratched off the silver stuff bexcuse the coin was too much for the paper and ruined the code. Could figure out the goggles. Finally just Uninstaller the stuff from my phone. Now my phone has a virus and is slowing down. It's only like a month old! Not happy!

    My family likes it. It's a little hard to find things on it. If you find it one time you using it you may not find it the next time you use it or you may have great difficulty finding it the next time. However, now I am afraid to use it due to our new Samsung Note 7's not being any good. Am I able to return this product along with our two new Samsung Note 7's?

    Using your phone for VR makes it overheat and this could reduce the battery life. Also found that images were not clear when words were not directly in front of you in the headset. The VR interface to the Internet kept failing and this is a known problem and still no fix. I want to experience and use VR and decided to use a dedicated system, (PS4 VR).

    Doesnt work with my note 5

    Bought this with big hopes. After days on the phone with samsung I find that I have a defective device. Plug it in and all i get is a mouse cursor. Returning soon. Hopefully I can give 5 stars when I get one that works. Terrible overseas tech support btw. But a samsung rep from TX called me back to go over everything and was very helpful.

    Ok, very nice concept. I thought I could view my content I already have on my phone, no! You have to literally buy everything you want to see. Set up did took over an hour because you had to download so many things. My phone did not feel secure in there not one time. It's crazy. But I would not recommend this to anyone

    i personally did not like this product. at first I thought it was cool when I tried it but after you purchase this product there are very few items for free. you have to spend alot more on in app purchases which I think is a waste of money. if i am already spending alot I want alot more offeres to me for my money.

    I don't recommend this product, drains and heat your phone battery. So you can enjoy less than 5 minutes. Then you plug in and overheat, so the phone turns off because of that. Most of the content you have to pay, and it's no worthless. I don't recommend till get improvements.

    The VR Looks Worse On My Samsung Galaxy Note 5

    I was hoping that getting a new Note 5 from Tmobile and getting the consumer Gear VR would change the display but now it looks worse and moving the focus wont change anything but doesn't change anything than before when I used the Note 4 with Innovator Edition that looked better.

    This was a disappointment. Thought I could kick back and watch movies on my phone. But it is for gamers. The headset is uncomfortable and your phone is difficult to insert and remove. It won't give you full 3D unless you vision is good. A toy for gamers maybe.

    Overall the item is very cool. i bought it because my son has one and we loved it. Mine needs to be exchanged because it didnt secure properly in place and kept falling. I think i may have just gotten one that was defective but overall it's pretty cool.

    Upgraded my phone to the Galaxy Note 5 and the VR goggles were a free gift. I plug my phone in and nothing. Rebooted, updated and reset. Still nothing. Going back to Best Buy in the morning to replace. Will post a review when I get one that works....
