    I recently purchased a new desktop for my daughter, it came with a 256GB NVMe drive. After the initialization and updates were done, I used a PNY 128GB 3.0 thumb drive to create a boot drive. I uninstalled the old SSD and installed the 980, made sure the USB drive was in a 3.0 slot, and hit the power button. It was the easiest install and swap that I have ever done. I had a few rewards certificates and it knocked the purchase down to around $26. A pretty good deal for a 1TB NVMe drive, and this thing is pretty fast, it easily boots the system from power on to ready in less than 5 seconds. I don't think it was ever even initialized for use. I am totally satisfied with my purchase and my daughter can't believe how much faster it is than any other system in the house.
