The drive that I received was manufactured in Dec 2021 and had ~300 GB written on it previously (reformatted by BestBuy, of course). I wanted the latest firmware before installing into my PS5, so I reached out to Geek Squad (as a TotalTech member), but they didn’t have any means of updating the firmware at my local store. The person helping me suggested buying a laptop, updating the firmware, and then returning the laptop lol. Fortunately, I was able to disassemble my wife’s existing laptop and complete the update myself. Installed the drive into our PS5 and benchmarked 6,500 MB/s. It’s worth noting that you cannot use an external enclosure to update firmware with your PC. Samsung’s Magician software will not recognize the drive as a Samsung product unless it is connected directly to the motherboard.

Got this SSD in sale, it arrived quick and it was easy to install into my Ps5. Works as inteneded and has around 1tb of available storage. It can transfer games from and to the internal storage with ease. Great SSD for its price

I needed a primary drive for a Clevo NH55 (12th gen) as the drive I was using was only 256GB and more importantly slow and overheating. I picked this up for the capacity, speed and heatsink to help with dissipation and it is working exactly as expected. Fit was *just* right as the bottom was able to close with nothing to spare so if you're getting this for a laptop make sure you have enough clearance. If on the off chance you do not you can always get the non-heatsink version. The heatsink really lets this drive stay within spec and even during large transfers it did not overheat and throttle. It is also more than fast enough with 4x the storage of the original drive. Geek Squad Certified and it arrived in like new condition albeit with no original box which is fine.

Bought it 9 months ago for my DIY PC project, along with ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI D4 motherboard, Intel Core i5-13500 CPU, and CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX 64GB (2x32GB) DDR4 RAM. Setup was easy, with no problems at all. There were no overheating or stability issues during the 9 months of moderate gaming/backend development tasks. Can recommend.

Easy to install into my PS5 and works perfectly. Once formatted it reads as 1.01TB in my PS5, which is better than any other storage device I've had because they typically hold a little less storage than advertised.

Nice addition to the PS5's internal storage. The read speeds met PS5 standards. Installing the drive on PS5 was super quick as well. I was a bit hesitant to get a refurbished drive but the product was basically like new with some damage to the box.

Good price and stellar performance. This SSD is perfect for PS5 gaming and lets me hold a significant amount more games. I have had no issues in about 6 months of using it daily.

I use this for my PS5. It’s certified refurbished but looked almost brand new. Thankfully the 1TB version does not have the firmware with the write issues.
