Dying less than two weeks later

I bought this drive for my PS5, and after a little over a week, my console refused to start up initially, then complained that I incorrectly removed the M.2 drive. The console would no longer detect this drive after frequent reboots. I plugged it into my PC, which also did not detect it initially, either, but eventually got it to show up. I reformatted it and checked the firmware, but it was already up to date. Tried it again in my PS5, and it seemed okay until I went to turn it on again after leaving it alone overnight. Same issue again. I would recommend any other M.2 drive at this point, and to steer clear of the 980 Pro specifically, and look at other drives instead. It has known issues with older versions of its firmware, and even after that, it's still giving me problems.

Not latest firmware

Manufactured 11/21 so it doesn’t have the latest firmware installed so I’m missing out on the fastest speeds. Otherwise seems to be fine. Easy to install after watching PS5 install video.

And don’t be worried about the refurbished label. Best Buy does an amazing job at refurbishing and I’ve had no issues. I got a 6500 MB/s read speed. So more than good enough for the ps5. Haven’t noticed any performance difference between internal and this ssd. Absolutely no problem recommending it.

Samsung 1tb M.2 SSD
