I am sorry to hear that your out of box experience has initially fell short of your expectations. Please try the steps below to improve your experience with your new Samsung Soundbar.
You can try adjusting audio performance to your liking by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, BASS BOOST, GAME, ADAPTIVE, or DTS VIRTUAL:X.
You can also press the Sound Control button on the remote (looks like a gear) to adjust TREBLE and BASS. Press and hold the Sound Control button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each of seven frequency bands. (Set sound mode to standard)
Additionally, using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.

Awesome Soundbar
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Soundbar and subwoofer is completely and I upgraded my old Samsung soundbar and the difference between the two is astonishing. The connectivity can be connected to the TV many ways it can be connected via Bluetooth if you have that option it can be connected infared connection, aux cables or even HDMI. The sound that comes out of this is definitely scared or quality. Connect your phone via Bluetooth. It says that you can connect your Echo dot but my Alexa Echo Dot cannot find my soundbar so I'm unsure how to do that I'll have to read into that a little bit more. I highly recommend this product. My neighbor here's my base and he says he needs to get a soundbar just like this.

Great Sound!

This provides amazing sound in such a small package. We are able to place the soundbar under the TV and it takes up little space, yet the sound is outstanding! The whole setup was quick and easy to install and we were watching movies in no time at all! Now on to the details, I love that we are able to connect all of our devices via Bluetooth easily. Our soundbar is used mostly for watching television and gaming. It provides a crisp, clear surround sound. The subwoofer is a great addition. Its wireless feature allows us to place where it is needed anywhere in the room. All in all very pleased with this product!

I really like this product. Way better than the previous samsung soundbar we had. You can see, hear, and feel the development of the soundbar over the years. The controls are easy to use. No difficulty in set up. Very simple. Cant wait to use this for more entertainment purposes.

But I purchased it on 9/6 and already there is a strong vibrating sound that just started showing and now its almost unbearable to listen to. I'm going to try for a replacement because a $300 soundbar should not start going bad in 4 months without ever even playing loud music on it

Garbage don't waste your time

Unfortunately this sound bar is junk. Working great for the first couple 6 months and now it goes haywire once a week or so. All the sudden it turns itself down to zero randomly. The only fix I've seen online is opening up the unit and removing a wire...no thanks. Also if your looking to boost your TVs over all sound this particular soundbar is not very loud. Many movies and shows we've watched with the volume all the way up. Thumbs down for me.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-A650 Soundbar and for your review. We appreciate your feedback regarding the volume of your soundbar. Simply changing the Digital Output Audio Format to PCM can help. You may want to try changing the Digital Output Audio Format to PCM.
On a Samsung TV this can be found at Home > Settings > Sound > Expert Settings. (It can also be found in the Quick Settings.)
If your Digital Output Audio Format isn't set to PCM, like for instance if you have a Dolby option selected, then you will likely notice decreased maximum volume. Dolby options are designed for surround systems (like 3.1.2 or 7.1), whereas PCM provides great sound quality for stereo speakers.
If you don't have a surround system, you will probably want to select PCM. You'll get much louder volume that way, and potentially better sound quality.
Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. You can update the firmware to version 1009 (June 30, 2021) by connecting a USB device with the firmware update stored on it to the USB port on your Soundbar. For more information about how to download update files, go to the Samsung Electronics website at: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/. Then, select the product type or enter the model number of your Soundbar, select the Software & Apps option, and then Downloads. Note that the option names can vary.
