Samsung sound bar

Don’t matter how you hook it up digital, hdmi “arch” if it would work like my last sound bar it would have a 5 star.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-A550 Soundbar. As long as your soundbar is connected to your TV with either an optical cable or HDMI via ARC, you can control the volume and mute the soundbar using your Samsung TV's remote.
1) Use the TV remote to navigate to Settings, select Sound, and then select Sound Output on your Samsung TV.
2) Select your Samsung soundbar, and then select Close. Now you can use your TV remote to adjust volume and mute the soundbar. The soundbar should also turn on and off with the TV.
By default, Samsung TV remotes should be able to control Samsung soundbars. If it isn't working, be sure the soundbar is powered on, and then press and hold the WOOFER button up until "ON - TV REMOTE" appears on the display (about 5 seconds). Next, you'll need to choose between connecting with an optical cable or an HDMI cable.

Very well build. If you don’t have the money or space to go 5.1 or 7.1, this is a good fit for the money.

Great product for the price. I bought this on sale for my next TV which I willget in several months. My older TV is a 55" Phillips that has a coax audio output (orange). I have a coax to to digital adapter that I have been using with my Bose Series II. For some reason this soundbar won't recognize the input with adapter. My Vizio soundbar recognizes the adapter without issue. No help from Tech Support either.

You may want to update the firmware of the soundbar to the latest version (v1005.2) featuring the latest features and improvements. You can update the firmware by using a USB device.

Had a little trouble syncing the subwoofer but once I did that and adjusted my sound settings on my tv it was more than what I expected.
