That controlled the sound bar (on - off) automatically and brought the volume control graphics to the TV screen. I did not have to use the soundbar remote at all. Speaking of remotes, I'm using a FireTV stick as my main input - so that remote handles TV on-off, volume and channel scrolling (which in turn handles the sound bar main functions).

I am glad to hear you are enjoying the improved audio experience provided by the HW-A650 and that you are able to hear sounds and dialogue with improved clarity thanks to the built in center channel and powerful audio. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts regarding the bass performance of the wireless subwoofer.
By design, the purpose of the subwoofer is to reproduces low frequency sounds and not musical tones. It adds rich tones and deepens sound effects, like the rumbles of an explosion or the depth in bass guitars and drums.
There are three adjustments that can be made for bass and subwoofer:
1) Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down
2) Adjust the bass control by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (gear icon) on the remote control, then select BASS to increase the level. You can adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
3) Press the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select BASS BOOST mode. This will provide you with a larger emphasis on bass sound.

I got it for my second TV in game room and it is very clear well for the dialogues (5 stars) and it is good for music overall (4.5 stars). Connecting to my Samsung TV was seamless by using the HDMI ARC ports. Just need to remember to switch the soundbar to HDMI mode (not D.IN mode as some webpages suggest)
