Set it up and performed well. Then one night, the sound stopped - not knowing if the sound from the TV stopped or just the sound bar, turned it all off, and then back on and worked fine. Over the course of the next 3 weeks, ran into the same scenario, one night, happened twice. Went back in to Best Buy and talked to them. One night the following week, the sound stopped, I tried turning the sound up on the TV and that worked fine, so had to be the sound bar. Checked all the connection and they were solid. Disconnected and returned. Purchased another Samsung sound bar, but only have had a few days, so will hold off until I know how it's really doing.

You can optimize your audio performance to your liking by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing SURROUND SOUND or STANDARD.
By pressing the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the volume of the treble or bass sound. Press the button to select TREBLE or BASS and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.
Additionally, using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the subwoofer’s volume between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.

Thank you for taking a moment to review the Samsung HW-C400 soundbar.
If your soundbar and Samsung TV are connected by an optical cable, Auto Power Link will turn your soundbar on automatically when you turn on the TV. No need to reach for the soundbar remote every time you want to watch TV! Should you want to disable this feature, follow the steps below.
Set the soundbar to “BT Ready” mode by pressing Source on the remote or soundbar. Press and hold the left direction on the direction pad on the remote for more than 5 seconds or until OFF – TV Connect appears on the soundbar display to activate or deactivate Auto Power Link.
Note: Auto Power Link only works with an optical connection and should be turned on by default.
To control the volume using the TV’s remote control used for the TV try the following adjustment to the settings within the soundbar. This function can be used with IR remote controls only. Bluetooth remote controls (remote controls that require pairing) are not supported. Set the TV speaker to External Speaker to use this function.
1) Turn Off the Soundbar.
2) Push up and hold the WOOFER button for 5 seconds. Each time you push the WOOFER button up and hold it for 5 seconds, the mode switches in the following order: “Samsung-TV Remote” (Default mode), “Off-TV Remote”, “All-TV Remote”. The LED indicator status changes each time the mode is changed.

Thank you for purchasing the new HW-C400 Soundbar. I am sorry if there has been any confusion on how to connect your Soundbar to your TV.
If you are using a Samsung TV then you will be able to connect using either Bluetooth or a Digital Optical Cable. The 2023 Samsung TVs will still have a Digital Optical port to connect your Soundbar.
