Thank you for taking a few moments to review the Samsung HW-C400 Soundbar.
By pressing the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the volume of the treble or bass sound. Press the button to select TREBLE or BASS and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.
Additionally, using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the subwoofer’s volume between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.

We appreciate you taking a moment to review the Samsung HW-C400 Soundbar.
There are a few things you may want to check:
1) The maximum wireless signal transmission distance is about 33 ft.
2) Electronic devices may cause radio interference. Devices that generate electromagnetic waves should be kept away from the Soundbar main unit - e.g., microwaves, wireless LAN devices, etc.
3) Also, please be sure you have the latest firmware update.
Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. When an update is available, you can update the Soundbar by connecting the USB drive that contains the update firmware to the SERVICE port of the Soundbar.
1.Go to the Samsung Electronics website (www.samsung.com) → click on the “Support” option in the upper right corner.
2.Click on “Manuals & Software” from the pop-up list > TVs & Home Theater > Home Theater > Select your model
2. Download the firmware file (USB type).
3. Unzip the file to create a folder with the file name.
4. Store the created folder in a USB and then connect it to the Soundbar.
5. A sequence of “UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON” will appear on the display 3 times. This will take around 6 minutes.
- During update, do not turn it off or remove the USB.
- If “UPDATE” does not appear on the display window, remove the power cord from the Soundbar and then reconnect it.
- When the latest Version is installed, no update is performed.
- Depending on the USB type, update may not be supported.
6. After the 3 cycles are complete, the Soundbar will restart and last source used will appear on the display for about 20 seconds and then it will go off (“UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON”) 3 times “D.IN” > off

Better than I thought it'd be.

Good sound, decent bass, ready to mount and connect. Doesn't have room for expandability in terms of speakers or bass speakers, but it was good and free so I can't complain.
I would recommend this to a friend WASTE OF MONEY.

I’m sorry to hear of the difficulties you experienced with your HW-C400 soundbar and synching the video on the TV to the audio from the soundbar.
Please try a few troubleshooting steps, as this may improve your sound quality.
If the video on the TV and audio from the soundbar are not synchronized, press the SOUND CONTROL button on the soundbar remote, until you see AUDIO SYNC on the display. You can then set the audio delay between 0~300 milliseconds by using the Up/Down buttons.
Additionally, please make sure your soundbar is using the latest firmware Version. You can update the firmware Version of your soundbar by using a USB device. If available, you may also want to update the firmware Version of your TV which may feature audio delay improvements.
If you continue to experience audio delay, and are connected wirelessly, please use the included digital optical audio cable to connect the soundbar to the TV. Using a wired connection instead of wireless often eliminates the audio delay entirely and improves the user experience.

Nice, small soundbar

Had nice bass up close. I probably wouldn’t use it as a speaker for a big room, might not be loud enough. For around $100, no complaints.

We use it with built-in Bluetooth so there are no extra wires to connect to the tv set. Sound is very good and you hear the deeper bass background sounds while watching movies. We are very happy with this product!!

The subwoofer sounds amazing as well as the surround sound. I thought it wouldn't be as good as it is with the size. But it's great! My only complaint is that my Roku TV doesn't have Bluetooth so I needed an optical cable which (not to my surprise) Samsung doesn't include. So I had to buy one. They also don't include any mounting hardware either. I also wish the lights that show you are turning up the volume or bass were on the front of the speaker instead of on top. Leaves me guessing if I've turned my volume/bass up all the way. Hence the 4 star. Other than that...very satisfied.

Great Soundbar

To begin with, the audio from the TV’s built in speakers provides decent sound on its own. I decided a soundbar would polish up my already great viewing experience and this soundbar exceeded my expectations based upon its description, specifications and reviews for it. Regardless of what volume I’m listening to, it more than satisfies me. It produces much better clarity to voice and musical passages. I have not experienced any audio distortion and that is with me using an optical cable between the TV and the soundbar. I have also had great results using its Bluetooth option. Overall I’m more than satisfied with it.

The improvement in the sound quality is remarkably. The voices come through load and clear. Watching sports you get crowd noise that increases the watching experience. For the price this is great buy.

I had some other competing noise that made it seem not as robust as I was hoping, but it's great for a smaller room. The bass control with the subwoofer is nice. I did have to purchase the optix audio cable, unless I missed one in the box somehow.
