Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the superb sound quality, encompassing both the clarity and impressive bass from the subwoofer, as a significant highlight. Many also praise the ease of setup and use, along with the soundbar's attractive design and compact size. However, some users point out the lack of an HDMI port as a drawback, and a few have experienced issues with the remote control's reliability. Overall, the positive feedback on sound and ease of use outweighs the negative comments regarding connectivity and the remote.

We hooked up the system with the optical cord. Not difficult, however, the sound disconnects. Will try a HDMI Arc cord to see if this will solve the issue. Final Review remains TBD!

      Hello wiggybaby99,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the sound occasionally dropping from your soundbar when using optical cord. You may first want to double check the cable connection of the soundbar to the TV or external device to ensure it is secure, and properly connected to the correct port.

In addition to checking the connections of the soundbar, please make sure your soundbar is using the latest firmware version. Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. You can update your firmware by using a USB device.

You may also want to initialize your soundbar by pressing the - and + (volume) buttons on the side of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset. Please know, this will reset all settings on the soundbar back to default; any sound adjustments will need to be performed again.

Your soundbar is also compatible with a Bluetooth connection to the TV. To connect the soundbar wirelessly, follow the steps below:

      1) Press the PAIR button on the remote to enter BT PAIRING mode. You can also press the SOURCE button on the top panel and then select BT. “BT” changes to “BT PAIRING” in a few seconds automatically or changes to “BT READY” if there is a connect record. If BT READY appears, press and hold the SOURCE button on the top panel of the Soundbar for more than 5 seconds to display BT PAIRING.
      2) Select the Bluetooth sound mode on your TV (See your TV's user manual for assistance)
      3) Select “[AV] Samsung Soundbar A470 Series” from the list on the TV’s screen. An available Soundbar is indicated with “Need Pairing” or “Paired” on the TV’s Bluetooth device list. To connect the TV to the Soundbar, select the message, and then establish a connection.
When the TV is connected, [TV Name] → “BT” appears on the Soundbar’s front display.

You should now hear TV sound from the Soundbar. Once you have connected your soundbar for the first time, use the “BT READY” mode to reconnect.

Does provide better sound experience. Louder than regular tv speakers and especially with music the subwoofer goes to work. Easy to set up. My only inconvenience is that the controller doesn't control the volume of the sound bar. Only for on/off, base/treble levels, connection options like bluetooth or direct wired connection, and sound placement. Volume is controlled from soundbar buttons only.

If you just want a great sounding soundbar for cheap. this is definitely the way. You get a very nice deep sounding wireless subwoofer. The soundbar is very lightweight from a cheaper plastic quality, to be expected but is still very durable. When connecting it. it very straight forward connect the Optical Audio cable and turn it on and your good to go! No HDMI port on it so no Hdmi-Arc Sound. so you have to use separate remote to control the soundbar. Unless your tv has programmable IR Remote. The sound quality is excellent. You will definitely hear vocals better. much better bass for explosion. You will definitely feel immersed. However you sound spend a tad bit more money on a higher end soundbar for the convience and features. there is one 50$ more with smart features Airplay Google Cast and Hdmi Arc so it powers off and sync volume with your tv

First, the goal was to match the manufacturer of the soundbar with the existing TV both being Samsung. I am brand loyal to Samsung as I have experience high quality with their line of products beyond their entertainment division. The soundbar met and exceeded expectations. The two aspects of connectivity, via optical and bluetooth, were integral to the acquisition. Why? I can connect tablets and phones seamlessly and get quality sound. There was no need for some fancy expensive solution. Set up was a breeze, adjusting the sound for optimum performance in the space took very little effort and time. The output of sound quality, regardless of source, was stellar considering the overall cost. And, the integration with the TV was wonderful eliminating the use of two remotes should one desire. There is a full range of sound output that gives the theater feel which was unexpectedly pleasant.

Good Sound Bar for the price

Set up was easy, and the sound quality is great for the price point. The only downside is that there is no HDMI connection, and setting it up so your tv remote works with it took me awhile to figure out. I couldn't find anything online about it, i have a Samsung S90C To get it to work with that remote you need to connect it to Bluetooth at least once.So i connected it with the optical cable and set it up woth Bluetooth,so it works great.

The Samsung HW-C450 is a fantastic addition to any home theater setup. This 2.1 channel soundbar delivers impressive sound quality that far exceeds its compact size. The DTS Virtual:X technology creates a surprisingly immersive surround sound experience, making movies and TV shows come alive. The wireless subwoofer adds powerful bass that enhances the overall audio experience. It's easy to set up and blends seamlessly with your home decor. The soundbar itself is sleek and stylish, with a simple remote control that makes operation a breeze. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of high-end soundbars, the HW-C450 offers excellent value for money. If you're looking for a budget-friendly soundbar that delivers big sound, this is a great choice.

I bought an open box item (paid extra for the 'excellent condition' level) and the box was missing the mounts. That's Best Buy sucking, not the soundbar. The soundbar is great. I mounted it under my garage t.v. and the sound loud and clear. The base is ok, has some punch. I listen to mostly rock/hard rock/metal and it holds up well. The only real downside is the 1980's segmented display hidden in the center. I flashed back to 8th grade math class when we had the 'new' calculators with the 8 bars that made up each digit. Its the 2020's.. slap a color LCD on that bad boy. Nit picking aside, I would buy again.

When my old soundbar was installed no one told me I had to charge it. After a couple of years, my TV kept telling me it needed a charge. I had no clue that I needed to do that. At installation, the installer said nothing about charging. He could have left me instructions, he did not. what a rip off! The sound was 'mushy' and no way to charge it? I even had Geek Total paid on it but I had to buy a new one and have it installed it. I had to buy a charger cord with both A and C ends to charge on my harddrive. It works well. But since I had Total on the old one, can some one tell me why I had to pay for a new one when this old was a 'mushy' sounding? The new one is crisp and clear, I love it!!

This replaced a 10 year old Samsung 2.1 soundbar. The bass is a lot louder and the old system was only 120w this thing is almost 300w. When at bedtime i keep the volume at a 2 otherwise its pretty loud. I use the optical cable as the bluetooth sounded very low and delayed(didnt want to mess with the sync). I like how the optical turns on with the tv and then 15 mins after the tv is off the soundbar will turn off. I paid $50 for this as it was open box good condition. it was in excellent condition it just didnt come with a box.

Honestly, I liked this sound bar from day one. It's simple, it sounds good, and the woofer... wow, it's pretty good. It feels great without being overpowered, just what you need to give the music that rich punch without reselling anything. You put on your playlist, connect via Bluetooth in a second, and that's it. The good thing is that everything sounds clear: the voices, the instruments, the bass. You don't have to be a sound expert to notice it sounds good. Ideal for relaxing, setting the mood at home, or simply enjoying your favorite songs in good quality. No complications, no wires everywhere. Just good music and a woofer that does its job properly.

Good sound bar with great sound and easy to connect. I continue to have issues with sound on commercials getting extremely loud. I am unsure if this is my streaming service or this soundbar. I have tried every setting possible to eliminate the issue and it still remains. And I don't have the issue on other TVs with HULU and a different Samsung soundbar. And of course, HULU tells me it's the soundbar.
